Urban Martial Saint

What kind of woman was she?

Beauty was an inadequate term to describe her appearance, with her pale complexion, delicate features, and lips as red as blood. This woman resembled an eternally supreme queen, yet also resembled a praying mantis capable of devouring her lovers. Even a glimpse from the corner of her eye could make you shudder involuntarily.

The most captivating aspect was her pair of slender, jade-like hands, pale and delicate as if carved from ivory. No one who saw these hands could ever imagine they could twist a person’s neck and break it!

Mu Qingrong sat beside her, her face ashen, silent. Seeing Ye Qing and the others, a hint of color returned to her face, indicating she was truly frightened inside the room.

The woman wore a slight smile, looking at Ye Qing with interest, as if sizing up this man who had caused such a stir in Shenchuan City and managed to live so long.

She was looking at Ye Qing, and Ye Qing was looking at her. The two of them gazed at each other like that. It lasted until Black Bear charged through the door and ferociously reached for the dwarf.

The dwarf punched back at Black Bear’s hand, forcing Black Bear to retreat several steps. Compared to the dwarf, Black Bear looked like a giant. Yet, his strength was no match for the dwarf’s, which also shocked him.

Finally, the woman seemed satisfied and softly laughed, ”Shall we talk?”

Ye Qing stood up and gestured towards Black Bear with his hand, signaling him not to make any more moves.

Black Bear had been ready to charge again, but upon seeing Ye Qing’s gesture, he reluctantly stood in the doorway without pressing further.

Ye Qing glanced at the dwarf. Truth be told, the dwarf’s strength was astonishing. Ye Qing had used up too much energy tonight and was also injured. Only because the dwarf had nearly ambushed him did he notice it. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been easy to beat the dwarf.

In fact, Ye Qing was very aware that the carefree woman sitting on the couch was much more terrifying than the dwarf.

The woman stood up, hands behind her back, and softly said, ”Tianfu.”

The dwarf understood and immediately turned around and said, ”All of you, get out!”

”No way!” Black Bear firmly said.

”Xiong Zi, go out!” Ye Qing waved his hand at him. Black Bear then glared resentfully at the dwarf and turned to lead Fang Tingyun and the others out.

The woman looked at Mu Qingrong and said with a light laugh, ”Miss Mu, it’s not very convenient for you here.”

Mu Qingrong glared angrily at her but still stood and walked out.

”Be careful, I’ll call the police for you in a bit,” Mu Qingrong whispered to Ye Qing as she passed him.

”No need,” Ye Qing shook his head. He could tell that this woman was not here to take his life. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have helped Black Bear take care of all the guards at the Southern Suburbs Dogfight Arena.

Though Black Bear hadn’t mentioned it, Ye Qing could almost guess that this woman was the one from the Southern Suburbs Dogfight Arena. However, Ye Qing couldn’t understand why she had come looking for him.

The dwarf had led everyone out, leaving only Ye Qing and the woman in the room.

The woman pointed to a chair nearby and said, ”Sit.”

”No need.” Ye Qing looked at the woman and asked, ”How should I address you?”

”Huangfu Ziyu,” the woman replied.

Ye Qing: ”People of Xikou?”

Woman: ”People of Dongzhou.”

Ye Qing nodded, ”So, you’re not here for revenge.”

”It depends on whether you can answer my question,” the woman said coyly, giggling. ”If you answer wrong, I might still kill you.”

Ye Qing looked at the woman and asked, ”What question?”

The woman slightly straightened up and said, ”I heard, you’ve met him!”

”Who is he?” asked Ye Qing, curious.

”The person who gave you this book.” The woman took out a book from behind her. It was indeed Ye Qing’s book on the Acupoint Seeking Technique.

Ye Qing’s expression changed and he said sternly, ”You’ve been going through my things!”

”Yes,” the woman replied crisply, without a hint of shame.

Ye Qing furrowed his brows and said in a deep voice, ”I don’t think we’re acquainted, so how is your rummaging through my things any different from a thief’s actions?”

The woman shook her head, smiling, ”Actually, I prefer the term ’robber.’”

Facing such a person, Ye Qing was completely at a loss and said, ”Do you know that person?”

”That’s hard to say,” the woman replied. ”Tell me, what did the person who gave you this book look like?”

Ye Qing hesitated, but still described the old man’s appearance to the woman.

”Was there also a blind person with him?” the woman furrowed her brows and asked, ”After all these years, hasn’t he cured her eyes yet?”

”Do you know him?” Ye Qing asked curiously, as that old man was indeed very strange. Ye Qing had always wanted to figure out the old man’s background, and also Third Master Li’s identity. It seemed like Old Wang Ba knew, but he always refused to talk. Now, seeing another person who knew, Ye Qing couldn’t help but want to inquire more about the situation.

The woman didn’t speak but only propped her supple hand against her face, and after a long while, she whispered softly, ”Is he… is he doing well now?”

Ye Qing didn’t quite know how to respond; he thought for a moment and said, ”He held me with one hand, and it felt effortless, yet I almost couldn’t stand.”

”Hee hee hee...” The woman couldn’t help but let out a burst of coquettish laughter and, after a long while, said, ”Mr. Ye, you indeed have some skills. However, I still can’t figure out where you learned your Li Style Bajiquan from. The Northern Li Family no longer has anyone who can practice Bajiquan to this level, right?”

Ye Qing looked confused and said, ”What Bajiquan? What Northern Li Family?”

The woman slightly furrowed her brows and asked, ”You don’t know about the Northern Li Family? Who did you train your fists with?”

”Third Master Li,” Ye Qing replied truthfully.

”Third Master Li?” the woman was taken aback and asked, ”Who is Third Master Li?”

Ye Qing recounted everything about Third Master Li, and after hearing this, the woman stood stunned for quite a while before finally nodding and saying, ”I see! I see! I see! No wonder he gave you the book. It’s been twenty years; it looks like he’s given up hope.”

After she said this, the woman looked up at the bright moon outside and murmured softly, ”If there’s no hope left, why won’t he return?”

Ye Qing didn’t understand what the woman was talking about. Seeing her expression, he couldn’t help but ask, ”Do you know Third Master Li?”

The woman didn’t respond but simply tossed the Acupoint Seeking Technique on the couch and said, ”This is something he gave to you. Take it back and train well with it; don’t let down the expectations of the two elders. If the opportunity arises, you and I must have a duel!”

Ye Qing furrowed his eyebrows, looking at the woman and said, ”To my knowledge, I have no grievances with you.”

The woman shook her head and said, ”It’s fate!”

”What fate?” Ye Qing was even more astonished and said, ”Can you explain what you mean more clearly?”

”At this time, the less you know, the better for you,” the woman stood up and said, ”You need to be careful. Li Style Bajiquan is taboo in the six provinces of the South. Don’t let anyone with intentions see it; it won’t be good for you!”

After finishing her statement, the woman turned and walked towards the door, suddenly turning back with a smile that made the lamps inside the room seem dim in comparison.

”By the way, the Fierce Tiger Gang still owes me eighty million. If you help me get it back, I’ll give you a twenty percent commission,” the woman said with a light laugh.

Ye Qing shook his head and said, ”I’m sorry, but I can’t do that.”

”You have to do it even if you can’t; otherwise, how will you establish yourself in Shenchuan City?” After finishing her statement, the woman glanced over Ye Qing’s shoulder at a few rooms behind him and chuckled lightly, ”Tonight’s events might happen again. For the sake of these girls, you should also strengthen yourself.

Next time someone is taken away, you might not be so lucky to meet me again!”

Ye Qing furrowed his eyebrows, and hearing the woman say this, he finally understood that her visit to Shenchuan City today was actually specifically to rescue him. As for her real purpose, Ye Qing was still puzzled; could it really just be about those few issues?

But who was that elder at Third Master Li’s grave that could make the East State Poisonous Mantis go to such lengths in Shenchuan City, undertake such a great deed, just to inquire about his condition?

Thinking of the old man’s condition, Ye Qing’s heart still trembled. The hand that the elder had placed on his shoulder felt like a huge mountain. Ye Qing couldn’t understand how that skinny figure could harbor such immense strength.

Perhaps, this woman named Huangfu Ziyu and that old man were alike. No one could understand how their bodies could contain such tremendous power. But undeniably, both of them were just as terrifying.

Downstairs, Huangfu Ziyu, accompanied by a dwarf, got into a car parked outside. After driving a good distance, the dwarf couldn’t help but ask in a low voice, ”Miss, by sending him to collect debts from the Fierce Tiger Gang, you’re essentially telling everyone that Ye Qing is working for you. This Mr. Ye has a lot of enemies now, and moreover, he’s a successor of Li Style Bajiquan.

You know what the people of Xi Hang mean. Do you really want to help him? Is it worth it for such a person?”

”Tianfu, don’t you understand?” Huangfu Ziyu spoke softly, ”The battle twenty years ago left Li Changqing unsatisfied, but the Master felt the same. That battle was the most disgraceful for both of them. Li Changqing died depressed, and the Master disappeared for twenty years, unable to face the outcome of that battle.

Now that he has found Li Changqing’s successor and returned the book to him, he wants to raise him up, to continue the battle from twenty years ago, to cleanse the past disgrace. As the Master’s successor, I should be the one to take up this fight!”

”How could this Mr. Ye possibly be a match for you, Miss!” the dwarf said gravely.

”He’s too young,” Huangfu Ziyu shook her head and said. ”That’s why I want to give him a chance, a chance to grow. I want him to be qualified and capable of fighting me fairly, to settle the disgraced battle of twenty years ago once and for all. I need to make him stronger, to cleanse the Master’s past disgrace!”
