Urban Martial Saint

This fighting arena had absolutely no rules, and Ye Qing had fought twenty bouts tonight, encountering all kinds of tactics. Jackson’s sneak attack was just one more thing Ye Qing was prepared for.

Facing Jackson’s robust physique, Ye Qing took a slight step back, squatted into a horse stance, and lowered his center of gravity. Just as Jackson was about to charge at him, Ye Qing suddenly lifted his right elbow and forcefully rammed it into Jackson’s chest.

This move had worked well for Ye Qing several times tonight, with significant effects every time. Those who were hit by his right elbow were lucky if they only suffered broken ribs—the worst case was Prison Head, who had a broken rib pierce his heart and lost his life.

As Ye Qing employed this tactic again, everyone around the ring held their breath, anxiously watching the situation on the stage. Could Ye Qing repel Jackson as he had done with others before?

With a thunderous impact, the two collided. In an instant, both men staggered backward several steps.

Barely steadying himself, Ye Qing felt a chill in his heart. Jackson’s body was too formidable; the blow Ye Qing delivered to Jackson’s shoulder would have injured an ordinary person’s shoulder bone. But Jackson’s muscular body had absorbed the impact, and his strength was terrifyingly monstrous, forcing Ye Qing back several steps. It was clear that this record-holder was no ordinary man!

Ye Qing had fought twenty consecutive bouts tonight and had used up a great deal of his strength. Had it not been for that, perhaps his blow would not have forced him to retreat. But now, with less than seventy percent of his strength left, he could battle Jackson, but it was unlikely he would last thirty bouts, let alone rescue someone.

The audience, unaware of the combatants’ conditions, cheered excitedly when they saw Ye Qing pushing Jackson back several steps. Many were Jackson’s supporters, but his ”Sick Man of East Asia” comment had angered many. Most of them now hoped that Ye Qing would give him a good lesson.

Jackson, enraged by his unsuccessful strike, roared and charged at Ye Qing, swinging a right hook toward Ye Qing’s temple.

It must be said, Jackson’s strength was formidable indeed, with punches that were both mighty and incredibly fast. Compared to Ye Qing’s previous opponents, Jackson was on another level. No wonder he could create a twenty-one-win streak record—strength was the key!

Ye Qing didn’t wish to clash head-on with Jackson, so he ducked and, at the same time, threw a punch at Jackson’s chest.

Jackson, the record-setter, was no slouch either; missing with his punch, he immediately raised his knee toward Ye Qing. Standing a head taller than Ye Qing, his knee almost directly hit Ye Qing’s chest as he brought it up.

Ye Qing knew how strong and sturdy Jackson was. Going head-to-head with him in terms of strength was simply asking for trouble. So, he quickly pulled back his punch and smashed it down on Jackson’s thigh, simultaneously using the force to retreat a large step backward.

Jackson took another blow, growing angrier, and chased after Ye Qing like a madman. His flurry of punches and kicks stormed toward Ye Qing like a tempest.

Ye Qing didn’t face Jackson head-on, continuously dodging Jackson’s assaults while occasionally retaliating. After such a long pursuit, Jackson had not managed to land a single hit, whereas Ye Qing had hit him with more than a dozen punches. Even with Jackson’s tough physique, he was now in considerable pain, roaring continuously.

Seeing this unfold, the entire audience cheered excitedly. Everyone just hoped that Ye Qing could beat Jackson and vindicate their compatriots.

Upstairs, in Tiger King’s room, his face turned extremely grim as he watched the situation through the camera.

”That useless Jackson, after all the years I’ve spent fostering him!” Tiger King clenched his fist and said solemnly, ”He’s no match for Ye Qing. It’s a good thing I didn’t send him on as the twenty-second fighter, or we would have suffered a huge loss!”

”Big brother, Ye Qing is so strong, can that person really beat him?” asked one of his subordinates softly.

Tiger King furrowed his brows. At this moment, he was unsure about the situation. After a long silence, he said through gritted teeth, ”No matter what, we can’t let him break the record!”

Down in the underground arena, after about five minutes of sparring with Jackson, Ye Qing had finally figured out Jackson’s pattern. Jackson was strong and had an extremely resilient body. However, his attacks were too reckless, consisting solely of offensive moves with little defense.

This was because he simply didn’t regard Ye Qing as a threat. After all, Ye Qing’s physique was far inferior to his. In his eyes, even if Ye Qing landed a dozen punches on him, it might not harm him much. But if he just hit Ye Qing once, it would be enough to finish him. That’s why he would rather take a few more hits than guard, only seeking to knock Ye Qing down as quickly as possible.

Understanding Jackson’s mindset, Ye Qing began to form a plan to handle him.

After sparring with Jackson for a while, Ye Qing slowed down, as if running out of energy.

Seeing this, Jackson was overjoyed and pursued even more aggressively, intentionally cornering Ye Qing towards the ring’s edge.

Having fought for so long, Ye Qing had relied solely on his agility to move around, which was very frustrating for him. Now, he wanted to corner Ye Qing and leave him with no way out.

As if oblivious to Jackson’s thoughts, under Jackson’s intentional pursuit, Ye Qing slowly retreated to a corner of the cage.

Jackson’s face lit up with joy. Seeing Ye Qing enter the corner, he immediately went over to block Ye Qing, shouting, ”Sick Man of East Asia, go to hell!”

Along with that roar was Jackson’s long-awaited heavy punch. He threw his punch with all his might, wanting to end the fight with a single blow.

Seeing Jackson throwing his punch with such force, Ye Qing suddenly turned around, grabbed the cage behind him, and climbed nearly two meters up with a couple of swift motions.

Jackson’s punch missed and he slammed into the cage, creating a big hole in it. The force was so great that the entire audience couldn’t help but cry out in alarm. The power behind Jackson’s punch was truly terrifying. It was a good thing Ye Qing dodged it, otherwise, what would have become of him?

Ye Qing climbed on the cage and, seeing Jackson’s punch miss, jumped down right onto Jackson’s arm.

Jackson’s fist had created a hole in the cage and was stuck there, he was straining to pull it back when Ye Qing stepped right on his arm. The weight of Ye Qing’s body, combined with the force of his kick, nearly dislocated Jackson’s arm. It was only because of Jackson’s exceptionally strong build that his muscles protected his bones, otherwise, he would have been seriously injured.

Even so, Jackson was in great pain and let out a howl as his other hand swung hard at Ye Qing.

Ye Qing stood on his right arm, pushed off with force, and used Jackson’s arm like a springboard, leaping over his head. After landing, he turned and kicked Jackson’s back, sending him into the cage.

Ye Qing didn’t hesitate and delivered several heavy punches to the back of Jackson’s head. Even someone as tough as Jackson couldn’t withstand it and slowly fell to the ground, knocked out by Ye Qing.

The audience watched Jackson lying on the ground in stunned silence. After a while, they burst into an excited cheer. Everyone had been hoping for Ye Qing to win against Jackson, to shine for the country. And now, Ye Qing had actually done it!

”Am I seeing this right? Jackson, the record holder, also known as the Crazy Barbarian, the Meat Grinder, has been defeated, and so utterly at that!” the referee shouted excitedly, ”This round, victory once again belongs to our great dark horse, Ye Qing! What Jackson, what Western Boxing, what foreign martial arts, in the face of our traditional martial arts, they are all so fragile!”

The crowd cheered jubilantly, all happy for Ye Qing’s victory. However, there were those who were not pleased, such as the Tiger King upstairs.

”Jackson fell so quickly!” Tooth-grindingly, Tiger King said solemnly, ”Ye has clearly not given it his all, otherwise he wouldn’t have been playing a cat-and-mouse game with Jackson. Ye is indeed cunning; he is conserving his strength. He really aims to win thirty consecutive matches!”

The underling beside him stared dumbfounded at the screen, well aware of Jackson’s strength. By Tiger King’s side, Jackson was counted among the strong. But how could it be foreseen that this strong fighter would lose to someone who had fought twenty matches, even while conserving his energy? Ye Qing’s strength was truly terrifying!

”Looking at it this way, the outcome of the next match is hard to predict!” the underling said with concern.

”It’s not hard to predict at all!” Tiger King sneered, ”This is my turf. If I want him dead, he’ll die. To think that I would lose my money, that’s impossible!”

The underling looked at Tiger King in astonishment and asked, ”Big brother, do you think that Tony can beat Ye Qing?”

Tiger King scoffed, ”Whether Tony can beat him is not the key point. The key is, he must lose!”

Just as Tiger King had said, Ye Qing could have indeed confronted and defeated Jackson directly. But he had chosen not to do so, because that would have required too much effort. He needed to conserve energy for the upcoming matches. He still had ten more victories to secure. Moreover, he knew very well that the opponents would only get stronger in the later matches!

While the betting audience was cashing in their winnings, Ye Qing stood at the edge of the ring. Someone brought over a laptop, which held surveillance of Fang Tingyun, Mo Xiang, and Broom Star. Ye Qing checked it after every match; he needed to ensure the three were safe.

However, what he saw this time shocked him. On the screen, the two women and Broom Star were not alone in their room, but were being held down to the ground by several people, each with a glinting blade held to their necks.

”What’s going on?” Ye Qing asked, his voice heavy.

The man with the laptop chuckled coldly, ”My boss said, as long as you lose the next one, they’ll be fine. If you dare to win, then you’ll get to see their heads roll.”
