Urban Martial Saint

Watching the situation on the screen, Ye Qing’s face turned so cold it seemed to nearly drip with iciness. He clenched his teeth and said in a deep voice, ”If you dare harm a single hair on their heads, I swear, I will kill you with my own hands!”

Tiger King, ”I’m sorry, they have already lost a few hairs when we brought them here.”

Ye Qing suddenly turned his head, his eyes flickering with a crazed killing intent.

Not taking it seriously, Tiger King smiled faintly, took out a remote from his pocket, shook it at Ye Qing, and said, ”I forgot to tell you, those doors are remote-controlled. If I press this button, both doors will open automatically. Mr. Ye, I have a weak heart, so don’t scare me. If by accident the doors were to open, you can imagine the consequences for yourself.”

Tiger King glanced at Ye Qing and continued, ”Also, don’t even think about going up to rescue them. Tonight, there’s at least five hundred million in cash in this building, and all my Fierce Tiger Gang’s subordinates are gathered here. Even an armed military force would have to put in effort to take this place down.

As for you, even if you could fight your way up from here, I can assure you that your two beautiful girlfriends would already be torn to pieces!”

Ye Qing’s eyes turned blood-red as he grated through his teeth, ”What exactly do you want?”

”I told you, help me make money!” Tiger King said with a light smile. ”That ring, it’s worth a lot. If you can last for ten rounds on it, I can make ten million. Ten million, and I can release Boss Li and the others. If you can last another ten rounds, I can make an additional twenty million. Twenty million, and I can release that kid.

After twenty rounds, that’s when the real money comes in. I could make thirty-five million in just seven more rounds, and I’ll release one of the girls. After twenty-seven rounds, if you can last another three rounds, that’s another thirty-five million. By then, you will have paid off your debt to me, and all these people can leave!”

Ye Qing furrowed his brows tightly. The fighters who could make it to that ring were no weaklings. Moreover, this was a biannual competition, which meant that previously dominant fighters would appear on this ring. Under the circumstances of continuous fights, lasting for thirty rounds on the ring was almost impossible!

However, if he didn’t step into the ring, Fang Tingyun and Mo Xiang would be done for. He bit his teeth and said in a deep voice, ”How do I know you’ll keep your word?”

”Although I, Tiger King, am a criminal, my word is as good as gold. Just last thirty rounds on that stage, and I’ll release them, I won’t go back on my word!” Tiger King looked around and said, ”All my brothers here can vouch for me!”

Ye Qing glanced at the people around him and said in a deep voice, ”Fine, I’ll fight!”

”Hahaha...” Tiger King laughed loudly, ”They say that even heroes find it hard to get past the beauty pass. It seems that saying holds true. Mr. Ye, I wish you success in advance!”

Ye Qing ignored him and left the room, led by several men, to prepare for the fight in the ring.

Inside the room, Tiger King watched Ye Qing walk away, a cold smile crossing his lips.

”Big Brother, can he last for thirty rounds?” A subordinate asked puzzledly, ”Looking at him, even five rounds seem tough!”

”Are you stupid? Just send weaker opponents against him in the beginning, right?” Tiger King said coldly, watching the situation outside through the glass door, ”Let him win fifteen rounds first, then gradually increase the difficulty. Raise him up as a dark horse and then crush him. Tonight, I’m going to make a fortune!”

”Big Brother, this guy doesn’t seem weak. If he really lasts thirty rounds, are we actually going to let him go?” Another worried subordinate said, ”If this guy stays alive, we won’t have any good days ahead!”

”Thirty rounds, hmph, I’ve never seen anyone who could last that long!” Tiger King scoffed with a cold smile and continued, ”Besides, I made it very clear. If he can last thirty rounds, I will release his friends. But, I never said I would let him go!”

The crowd suddenly understood; the moment Ye Qing set foot in the Dog Field, Tiger King never intended to let him leave alive.

Ye Qing entered backstage and donned the clothes prepared for him by the backstage crew, but he didn’t put on any gloves. There are no rules whatsoever in the Underground Boxing Ring—the more brutal and vicious the fight, the better the show. Killing an opponent even came with a bonus, so normally, everyone fought with lethal intent.

”Mr. Ye, do you need to warm up?” a man asked. He was the one who had led Ye Qing down earlier, reminding him to pay close attention to the situation on the ring, saying it would be beneficial for Ye Qing. Now, Ye Qing finally understood his meaning, because he was about to fight on the ring himself.

”No need!” Ye Qing watched the ring quietly; the fight on the ring was nearly over.

The victor was still that Madman, who had climbed onto the iron net and sat down with the weight of Mount Tai, sitting on his opponent’s chest. His opponent vomited a few mouthfuls of blood and lay there on the ground, slowly motionless.

The cheers from the crowd grew even louder, while the Madman indulgently spread his arms, basking in their roars as if he were the king of the ring.

”Want to keep challenging?” the referee shouted into the microphone next to him.

”Continue! Continue! Continue!”

The audience screamed loudly, the venue boiling over with excitement. Just as Tiger King had said, everyone has a beast within them, and now the crowd was no different from wild beasts. Nobody cared whether the loser on the floor was dead or alive; they were only concerned about who would enter the ring next, who would be killed by the Madman!

Feeling smug, the Madman snatched the microphone from the referee and said, ”Don’t bother asking that question anymore. Tonight, I’m going to fight ten rounds!”

With that declaration, the crowd erupted. There weren’t many who could fight a full ten rounds, and the Madman’s arrogant words further incited people’s primal instincts, with many shouting the Madman’s name loudly.

”Truly worthy of being our monthly champion, such courage!” the referee roared, ”Come, let’s see who this next challenger will be!”

The referee picked up the card he had just received, saying, ”Huh, this friend’s name is quite unfamiliar. Ye Qing, sounds like a greenhorn student, doesn’t he? Does he not know how brutal this ring can be? Fairy tale world is not the same as this ring, you know.”

The audience burst into laughter, with even some shouting, ”Kick him out, replace him with someone capable!”

”Yeah, yeah, kick him out, we’re here to watch a fight, not to bully a kid!”

”What, now any Tom, Dick or Harry can come and compete?”

The crowd jeered and mocked, and it was with great difficulty that the referee managed to quell their voices, ”It seems that everyone doesn’t think highly of him. But if someone wants to come here and throw their life away, we can’t refuse, right? Now, let’s welcome this young friend named Ye Qing to the stage!”

Amidst the crowd’s booing, Ye Qing walked out. Among these fighters, his stature was not impressive, and his appearance was greeted with countless boos.

”Yo, he really is a green little boy. Compared to Madman, he’s basically a primary school student. What could be the reason for such a suicidal challenge? Could it be that he is love-struck and looking for a way to end his miserable life?” the referee teased in the ring.

”Get out! Get out!”

”Madman, break his neck!”

The crowd’s howling was relentless, no one was optimistic about Ye Qing. After all, in this ring, physical strength decided everything.

Ye Qing seemed oblivious to the crowd’s ridicule, escorted by a few men, he made his way onto the ring.

Madman was half a head taller than Ye Qing, and with a look of disdain glanced at Ye Qing, snatched the microphone from the referee’s hand, and said, ”I won’t fight this kind of person, it’s an insult to me!”

”Well said! Madman’s got it right!”

”Right, kick him out, how can someone like that even compete in a boxing match!”

”Kick him out! Kick him out!”

The crowd was all shouting, and Madman provocatively gave Ye Qing the middle finger, saying, ”Kid, you better roll back and eat more. This is not your place, you’re not worthy to fight with me!”

Ye Qing just quietly looked at him, without saying a word.

The referee awkwardly took back the microphone from Madman, saying, ”It seems that this young friend named Ye Qing has quite the fearless spirit, and no matter what, such spirit is commendable. Since he’s here, we have to give him a chance. Our odds are still the same, so everyone can rest assured. I think this must be a bonus from Tiger King, wanting everyone to earn some extra cash.

Let’s see what our odds are like.”

The referee took the microphone, saying, ”Oh, the odds have changed. Madman’s odds have dropped to one to one point two, but the odds for this young friend, Ye Qing, are one to twenty. Wow, I’ve never seen such high odds in all these years. But who would dare to bet on him? They know they would lose money!”

The entire venue laughed uproariously, truly no one believed in Ye Qing. Not to mention one to twenty, even at one to two hundred, it would still be like throwing money into the water.

”Regardless, the odds have been set. Now everyone has three minutes to place their bets, after which, our fight officially begins!” The referee looked at the two and with a smile said, ”Now, could the two contestants please return to your respective corners to rest.”

Ye Qing turned and went back to his corner, while Madman snatched the microphone from the referee’s hand again, and said, ”This is an insult to me, I want to protest to Tiger King. Also, this round doesn’t count in my ten rounds!”

The crowd immediately became excited again, as they had betting devices in front of them, allowing them to place their bets directly.

”Madman, I bet five hundred thousand on your win!” a wealthy woman yelled out loud.

Madman proudly turned his head and flexed his muscles towards her, and the woman’s eyes were immediately filled with little stars. She seemed unsatisfied, almost as if she couldn’t wait to ride Madman herself.

”One to twenty? These odds are amazing, but what’s the use of betting on them?”

”I’m also betting five hundred thousand on Madman to win!”

”Me too; damn it, let’s make a quick buck first!”

Everyone was betting on Madman’s victory, except for a fat man who suddenly screamed, ”Damn, I pressed the wrong thing, how did I bet five hundred thousand on this kid to win?”

Everyone in the venue gave him a sympathetic look, and one person even patted his shoulder, saying, ”Brother, take it easy!”
