Urban Martial Saint

Meanwhile, in Yang Shitao’s room.

Not long after Tiger King had left, Yang Shitao watched helplessly as Mantis and the dwarf left the room together. He didn’t know how far Mantis had gone, so he dared not leave.

After waiting five or six minutes and still not seeing Mantis return, Yang Shitao thought about making a run for it. However, before he could reach the door, it was suddenly kicked open violently, and fifty or sixty men charging in with machetes nearly scared him to death.

Fortunately, these men didn’t chop at them. Unable to find Mantis and the others, the men hastily left.

Yang Shitao was terrified and hid in his room, not daring to go out. It wasn’t until half an hour later, when he was sure no one else was coming, that they ventured out of the room.

Outside, chaos reigned, and news of Tiger King’s death was spreading everywhere. This news startled Yang Shitao once more, as he knew without a doubt who had killed Tiger King.

After all, Tiger King had built his empire with his own two hands. Among the three major gangs of Shenchuan City, Fierce Tiger Gang was considered the most formidable in combat. Yet, Poisonous Mantis had come to Shenchuan City and killed Tiger King so effortlessly.

The East State Poisonous Mantis, this woman was even more terrifying than the legends!

Yang Shitao didn’t dare to linger in the Dog Field for another moment. He hurriedly left with a few of his men, driving straight to another secluded villa he owned on the outskirts.

Once he was back in his lair, Yang Shitao finally breathed a sigh of relief. The thought of Poisonous Mantis still sent shivers down his spine. However, when he recalled how Poisonous Mantis’ interference had allowed Ye Qing to leave the Southern Suburbs Dogfight Arena alive, rage filled his heart.

”Damn it, if it weren’t for that bitch stepping in, Ye Qing would have been beaten to death tonight!” Yang Shitao clenched his teeth in anger.

”Poisonous Mantis usually doesn’t leave Dongzhou, and she doesn’t have much interaction with Shenchuan City. Moreover, although Tiger King was bold, he never dared to provoke Poisonous Mantis. There shouldn’t be any grievances between them.

How could it be such a coincidence that Poisonous Mantis came to Shenchuan City tonight and just happened to go to Tiger King’s place, causing such a disturbance?” a man next to him said, frowning deeply and speaking in a grave tone, ”Could it be that Poisonous Mantis has some connection with Ye Qing?”

Yang Shitao’s expression changed at the suggestion. If that was true, wouldn’t he be signing his own death warrant by seeking trouble with Ye Qing again?

”Impossible!” Yang Shitao said resolutely. ”If she had ties with Ye Qing, would he have needed to be in such a sorry state during the past incidents? I see it as her trying to stake a claim in Shenchuan City, and the Fierce Tiger Gang is just the first signal she’s sending out here.”

”If that’s the case, Ye Qing is just too lucky!” the man beside him sighed softly. Ye Qing had been in a deathtrap tonight, and who could have imagined such an unexpected turn of events would allow him to survive. This could only be described as sheer luck!

In fact, when Mantis had first entered their private room, they had all been knocked unconscious by her, so they did not hear the conversation between Mantis and the dwarf. Otherwise, they would have realized that Mantis was actually there for Ye Qing.

”Lucky?” Just then, an icy voice suddenly rang out, and a bald man emerged from the inner room. It was He Ziqiang.

”Compared to me, what luck does he have?” He Ziqiang’s face was cold, and his eyes flickered with rage.

”He Ziqiang, what are you doing here?” Yang Shitao furrowed his brow and his expression shifted slightly.

”Surprised to see me? Are you wondering why I didn’t die at Ye Qing’s hands?” He Ziqiang looked at Yang Shitao coldly and said, ”Mr. Yang, I admit I’m not a good person, but compared to you, suddenly, I feel like a great philanthropist. Bastard, you actually dared to betray me!”

”He Ziqiang, what are you talking about? How did I betray you?” Yang Shitao retorted angrily.

”Don’t play dumb with me!” He Ziqiang cursed loudly, ”You told me to hide at your villa first, then you had Old Lin lure Ye Qing there. Isn’t that clearly a plot to kill me off? Damn it, it’s only because of my luck, that halfway through chasing me, Ye Qing received a phone call and ran off. Otherwise, I would’ve been killed by Ye Qing by now.

Yang Shitao, you are truly despicable, using such methods to silence me!”

Yang Shitao frowned deeply and responded firmly, ”He Ziqiang, don’t spout nonsense. Why would I harm you? What benefit would that bring me? You’re working for me. I pay you. We have an employer-employee relationship.

Do I need to harm you?”

He Ziqiang snapped back, ”I know too much about you, of course, you would want to silence me. What other benefit do you need?”

”Silence you?” Yang Shitao sighed and said, ”He Ziqiang, you seem quite shrewd most of the time, why can’t you understand this now? If I really wanted to silence you, wouldn’t it be most appropriate to send my own men to kill you? Would luring Ye Qing to deal with you get the job done?

He Ziqiang, think about it, with Ye Qing’s character, if he really caught you, would he kill you on the spot or take you to the police station?”

This made He Ziqiang pause, his furious mind not considering this angle. As Yang Shitao suddenly brought up this point, enlightenment dawned upon him.

”If Ye Qingzhen were to capture you, he’d definitely send you to the police station. Then wouldn’t my affairs be exposed as well?” Yang Shitao said, ”Think about it, even if I were a fool, would I do such a thing?”

He Ziqiang frowned deeply and was silent for a while, then said, ”Are you saying that this was an unintentional mistake on your part?”

”I never anticipated that the surnamed Ye would double back and track Boss Lin. Despite all the talk, he managed to figure out Boss Lin’s character,” Yang Shitao sighed and said, ”I thought Boss Lin could do something significant, but it turns out he’s just useless. He couldn’t handle Ye Qing himself and even nearly exposed us all by being tracked.”

”He’s just not someone who can do great things!” He Ziqiang snorted disdainfully and said, ”Cooperating with him was just a means to get information about the Lin family. For actual deeds, he’s utterly useless and might even spoil things. I suspect that the reason Ye Qing found our hiding place last time was because he was following him.”

Yang Shitao frowned and said, ”Such a useless person, more fit for spoiling things than achieving them.”

”This person knows too much about our affairs... In my opinion...” He Ziqiang glanced at Yang Shitao and said, ”Why not just get rid of him!”

”Ah?” Yang Shitao’s expression shifted slightly as he said, ”This... isn’t this a bit much? After all, he’s our ally, right?”

”What sort of ally? How many things has he done for us? How much money has he asked from you? How many of our plans has he ruined!” He Ziqiang curled his lips and said, ”Such a person, cowardly and incompetent. If he were ever caught, he would only reveal our secrets. Keeping him around is always a risk!”

Yang Shitao fell silent for a long time before speaking softly, ”After all, he’s from the Lin family; this is not an easy thing to do...”

He Ziqiang gave a cold smile and said, ”Leave it to me. Killing him is just a trivial matter!”

Yang Shitao looked at him and sighed, ”If that’s the case, I won’t interfere with this matter. Leave the surnamed Lin to you, but make sure it’s done cleanly, without leaving any risks!”

”Don’t worry!” He Ziqiang’s face was full of confidence as he said, ”Ye Qing is tough to deal with, but Boss Lin? He’s just a small fry. Just wait for my news!”

Watching He Ziqiang leave through the front door, Yang Shitao’s hesitation gradually turned into a cold sneer. He turned to look at the man next to him and whispered, ”Your plan is really good. This surnamed He is indeed willing to kill Boss Lin.”

”Boss Lin can’t remain any longer. As long as he’s alive, our plans will eventually be exposed. Having He Ziqiang kill him is the best outcome; no one will be able to trace it back to us!” The man smiled faintly and said, ”However, getting He Ziqiang to willingly kill him wasn’t easy. This afternoon, Ye Qing nearly caught He Ziqiang, who must be harboring a grudge.

Now, he’s about to vent that anger on Boss Lin. Once Boss Lin is dead, we can rest easy and slowly plan our move against Ye Qing!”

”You’re right, can’t be too hasty!” Yang Shitao nodded and said, ”The surnamed Ye is really not easy to deal with. It seems we’ll have to employ the Xikou Fire Butterfly to kill him!”

”The Xikou Fire Butterfly!” The man’s brows furrowed slightly as he said, ”Between the East State Poisonous Mantis and her, which of the two women is stronger, I wonder?”

”Who knows?” Yang Shitao shrugged and said, ”But for a woman to reach such heights is quite the acme of evilness indeed!”

Meanwhile, after Zhao Chengshuang and his team rescued Ye Qing, they first sent Li Lianshan and his men to the hospital. Li Lianshan and the others had only sustained superficial injuries and could get bandaged up and rest afterwards.

Ye Qing too was bandaged up, and now that his spirits were relaxed, all he felt was pain throughout his body. The painkillers weren’t very effective, so after being bandaged, he went straight home with Fang Tingyun and the others. He needed to heal at home using the Acupoint Seeking Technique.

Most of his injuries were a result of heavy blows and the ensuing painful bruising inside his body. Treating such injuries with Inner Strength was most effective since the circulation of Internal Breath inherently helped to invigorate the blood and unblock the meridians.

As they arrived at the door of their home, the lights inside were still on. Fang Tingyun, walking ahead, was using her keys to open the door, and wondered, ”Ms. Mu hasn’t gone to bed yet? It’s almost eleven o’clock.”

Following behind her, Ye Qing entered right after Fang Tingyun pushed the door open. Just as he set foot inside, his expression suddenly changed. Swiftly, he grabbed Fang Tingyun by the collar and yanked her out of the room.

At that moment, a short and thick hand had just landed where Fang Tingyun stood moments before. The hand was almost about to grasp Fang Tingyun’s clothes, narrowly missing her. If Ye Qing had been a fraction slower, Fang Tingyun would have been caught by that hand.

Having missed its target, the hand then stretched towards Ye Qing. Blocking Fang Tingyun, Ye Qing had no chance to dodge and was grabbed by the right leg. A powerful force, irresistible even to Ye Qing, pulled him straight into the room and threw him to the ground.

As he raised his head, he saw a woman in a red dress sitting on the living room couch. A slender jade leg was crossed over the other, with a red string tied around her tender ankle, a crimson so deep it looked as though soaked in blood!
