Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing had arrived at the Southern Suburbs Dogfight Arena an hour later, calling Black Bear on the way to ask him to sneak in and prepare for a rescue. He also contacted Zhao Chengshuang; however, he dared not let Zhao Chengshuang come directly to claim people.

Everyone said that Tiger King was a psychopath; such people, once they became enraged, were truly capable of anything. Even though Zhao Chengshuang was a policeman, Tiger King might not respect him. If Tiger King were to be provoked, and something were to happen to Fang Tingyun and Mo Xiang, Ye Qing would regret it for life.

Thus, he only instructed Zhao Chengshuang to bring men and lie in wait, readying to act on his signal.

The outside of the Southern Suburbs Dogfight Arena was a mess, with some traces of blood on the ground. When Ye Qing arrived, about fifteen people were cleaning the area, making it look as though a fierce battle had just occurred.

Ye Qing parked his vehicle far away and planned to sneak in from the other end of the dog field. However, before he had gotten within five meters of the dog field, a large, muscular dog suddenly burst out from within, barking furiously as it charged toward him.

Ye Qing furrowed his brows; he wasn’t afraid of the dog. However, with the dog barking like that, his whereabouts were completely exposed. It seemed almost impossible to sneak into the dog field quietly. There were too many dogs kept inside, serving as the perfect natural alarm system.

Indeed, the dog’s barking immediately attracted seven or eight people. Ye Qing simply didn’t hide anymore and walked directly toward the dog field.

One man pulled the dog back, while several others looked at Ye Qing. One of them, who appeared to be the leader, sized Ye Qing up and said, ”You must be Mr. Ye Qing.”

Ye Qing nodded, and a flicker of surprise crossed the man’s face. In Shenchuan City, almost everyone would involuntarily fear at the mention of Tiger King’s name. They had assumed Ye Qing would not dare to come, or that he would bring people or even the police with him. Unexpectedly, Ye Qing had come alone. This courage was something that nobody had anticipated.

”My elder brother has been waiting inside for a long time, Mr. Ye, please follow me!” The man led the way, with the others closely following, seemingly wary of any tricks Ye Qing might play.

In truth, at this point, Ye Qing wouldn’t play any tricks anymore. It was clearly impossible to sneak into the dog field, so he might as well enter openly.

The dog field covered a vast area; as they walked, numerous kennels with various types of large dogs were positioned around the perimeter. These dogs were particularly aggressive, constantly barking outward, filling the dog field with a chorus of barks.

Several people led Ye Qing into a luxurious building within the dog field. Numerous prestigious cars were parked outside, a rarity even at entertainment venues in the city, gathering so many luxury cars together.

The man continued to explain as he led Ye Qing, ”Mr. Ye, you’ve come at just the right time tonight. Tonight is our monthly event where both boxing and dog fighting take place simultaneously, and it’s always the busiest time of the month. During this time each month, our dog field’s turnover can exceed thirty million, sometimes even reaching fifty million.

Soon, you will meet many wealthy individuals, all top figures from Shenchuan City!”

Ye Qing remained silent, continuously surveying the surroundings—a habit formed during his military days. In such a situation, he needed to understand the layout of the area to find the best escape route.

The man led Ye Qing into the building, which was even more luxuriously decorated than the exterior architecture suggested. If one did not enter, one would never guess that such an opulent building existed inside a seemingly desolate dog field. The decor here was even more beautiful than the most luxurious hotel in Shenchuan City.

Tiger King had indeed put great effort into this place; after all, it was his most profitable venture. The decor of the building alone cost over a hundred million, making the dog field a place Tiger King valued highly!

Several men brought Ye Qing inside, and at the entrance, a few strong men came over, scanning him with a detector and searching out his phone.

Ye Qing didn’t resist; having come this far, he had anticipated this situation. Whether he had his phone was not important because the signal arranged with Zhao Chengshuang wasn’t dependent on a phone.

After confirming that Ye Qing had no more communication devices or weapons, the men finally led him inside and took an elevator straight to the basement.

The man beside him explained, ”Both the dog fighting and boxing matches are held in the basement—it’s the venue for the competitions, with many spectators. The upper floors are VIP rooms, designated for distinguished guests to watch the fights.

We have comprehensive cameras here that can transmit the situation in the arena to each room without any blind spots, giving guests a feeling of being right at the scene.”

Ye Qing said nothing. When he had come in, he had noticed a staircase nearby that seemed to lead to other floors. If he thought about leaving later, that would certainly be the best option.

As soon as Ye Qing entered the basement, he heard a mix of excited shrieks and cheers. The basement was dimly lit, except for the central area which was brightly illuminated by overhead lights, making that spot very clear.

In the heart of the area, there were two enormous cages surrounding two fighting rings. In one of these cages, two dogs were locked in fierce combat, both having been professionally trained as fighting dogs, battling brutally. Before long, a larger Caucasian dog snapped the neck of a ferocious Doberman.

Of course, the Caucasian too paid a price, its belly ripped open, blood soaking its fur, but it managed to survive.

In the other cage, two fighters clashed viciously. The human battle was even bloodier than that of the dogs. One man, covered in blood and missing half an ear, relentlessly pursued another man whose right arm was broken and who had no power to fight back.

He desperately tried to escape from the cage multiple times, but the cage was completely sealed; it could not be opened unless someone outside used a key.

Before long, the man with half an ear caught up with the one-armed man, kicking him in the back and sending him crashing to the ground. The half-eared man then grabbed the other’s head and, ignoring his pleas for mercy, twisted vigorously, breaking the man’s neck.

The one-armed man’s body slowly slumped to the ground, a trickle of blood leaking from the corner of his mouth, gradually going still.

Hundreds of spectators surrounded the two cages. Upon witnessing the scene, some cheered while others cursed loudly; the atmosphere was intensely lively. The half-eared man inside the cage arrogantly raised his arms, roaring loudly to all sides, issuing a challenge like a wild beast: ”Who dares to come! Who dares to stand up to me!”

”He’s called Madman, the strongest contestant this month, and so far, nobody has been able to defeat him. The odds are one to one, but tonight they have risen because we have gathered all of the past few months’ champions to select the semiannual champion,” the man said to Ye Qing with a smile, ”Of course, you can choose to defeat him.

The odds for within five matches are three to one, from five to ten matches are five to one. After ten matches, with each additional match he fights, the odds increase by one. This means if he manages to last till the eleventh match, the odds are six to one, twelve matches, seven to one. If he can last till twenty matches, then it’s really impressive, fifteen to one. Want to give it a try?”

Ye Qing shook his head and said solemnly, ”Where is Tiger King?”

”Watch for a bit. It will be to your benefit,” the man replied with a light smile. After lingering for two minutes, he then led Ye Qing into a room next door.

Inside the room were over thirty people, all robust and strong. Among them were many visibly adept at External Kung Fu, with bulging muscles and swollen temples.

Among these individuals, a man in his thirties with a feminine face and murderous eyes stood out; this man was Tiger King.

”Mr. Ye, you’ve finally arrived!” Tiger King greeted warmly, standing up with a smile and reaching out for a handshake as soon as Ye Qing approached.

Ye Qing was waiting for him to come closer; when Tiger King was about a meter away, Ye Qing also extended his hand and grasped Tiger King’s. Simultaneously, he pulled Tiger King toward him; his left hand moved as fast as lightning, aiming directly for Tiger King’s neck.

Ye Qing intended to control Tiger King instantly and then force him to release Fang Tingyun, Mo Xiang, and Broom Star. However, he had underestimated Tiger King’s strength. As he forcefully pulled Tiger King towards him, Tiger King pulled back with all his might. The two men struggled for power, causing Tiger King to become unsteady and dragged by Ye Qing.

Tiger King, however, reacted swiftly. His body suddenly bent backward, dodging Ye Qing’s lightning-fast grab. At the same time, his other hand shot up, grabbed Ye Qing’s wrist, and swiftly twisted it down.

Tiger King’s move was extremely adept; even though Ye Qing was battle-hardened, he was nearly caught off guard by Tiger King. Nevertheless, he was ultimately stronger and countered swiftly, nullifying Tiger King’s force and in turn, aiming for Tiger King’s wrist.

Tiger King’s expression shifted slightly, his body sank slightly and he adopted a horse stance, his left hand aiming for Ye Qing’s chest.

Among the many opponents Ye Qing had faced, only Lin Zhen Nan’s short bodyguard was nearly as strong as Tiger King. Although Ye Qing could defeat him, overpowering him required considerable effort.

Of course, the elder he had met in front of Third Master Li’s grave was an exception. To this day, the thought of that elder’s palm pressing on his shoulder still frightened him. Under the seemingly frail hands of that man, he had had no chance to resist at all. The old man’s strength could indeed be described as unfathomable.

Ye Qing stepped sideways, dodging Tiger King’s strike, and was about to strike again when Tiger King suddenly burst out laughing, saying, ”Mr. Ye, there’s no need to fight any longer. With so many people here, you can’t possibly capture me!”

Ye Qing sighed, released his grip, and slowly stepped back. Without having seen Fang Tingyun, Mo Xiang, and Broom Star yet, these people were definitely being controlled by Tiger King. If he could control Tiger King in the shortest possible time, then he might be able to save them. But now that he couldn’t control Tiger King, continuing the fight would merely be risking their lives.

At Tiger King’s command, their lives could be ended at any moment!
