The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

With Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng taking charge, Shuyou wouldn’t worry.

And with Huohuo leaving Jiangyuan County, he won’t be back for a while. By the time he returns, Shuyou’s condition will have stabilized.

Shu Yu looked at the dark circles under Zhao Xi’s eyes and finally relented.

Forget it, his sister still needs Zhao Xi to take care of her. If he collapses from exhaustion too, it would be his sister who suffers. At least Zhao Xi is a doctor and can help alleviate her symptoms.

”Alright, we’ll take him with us.”

Zhao Xi let out a long sigh of relief, ”Yu, I knew you’d be the most righteous. I’ll take Huohuo back first, let him say goodbye to your sister, and I’ll bring him over when you leave the day after tomorrow.”

”Hmm.”

Mianmian knew Huohuo was going along, and she suddenly felt very sympathetic. Being away for five or six years, wouldn’t that brother not see his parents for five or six years? How miserable.

Though that’s what she thought, seeing they were about to leave, Little Mianmian, under Shu Yu’s guidance, went to the Lu family to bid farewell to the elders.

But when she went, she had Ying Xi carry a large box of things along.

Both Shu Yu and Ying Xi were puzzled, ”Mianmian, what are these?”

”I’m giving them to Great Grandmother, their gifts.”

Hearing this, Shu Yu didn’t ask any further. The old lady was delighted to see her, ”Why are you coming over so late at night? You’re leaving early in the morning.”

”It’s because I’m leaving tomorrow, so I wanted to come now.” After Mianmian spoke, she had Ying Xi open the box she had brought.

Inside the box were all of Little Mianmian’s collections, her most cherished items.

She took out a rattle-drum from inside and solemnly handed it to the old lady, ”Great Grandmother, this is for you. Shake it whenever you miss me, okay?”

”Alright. Alright.” The old lady happily patted her small head.

The little girl then turned and took a Cuju Ball, ran over to Lu Erbai, ”Grandfather, this is for you, kick it around when you have nothing to do, okay?”

”Okay.”

The little girl then picked up a pouch and tucked it into Madam Ruan’s hand, ”Grandmother, this scented pouch, carry it with you, okay?”

Madam Ruan hugged her, ”Hmm, Grandmother will carry it all the time.”

Subsequently, the little girl also distributed gifts to Ah Ning and others, even leaving some for Shurui and Shuyou, who weren’t present, asking them to pass them on.

After distributing everything, she sighed, and when she looked up again, her big eyes were misty, looking very pitiful, ”Then I’m leaving, so... I’ll see you in six years.”

Everyone present, ”...”

Huh??

Why wait six years to see each other? Where was she planning to go, without coming back?

Shu Yu held Ying Xi’s shoulder to prevent herself from laughing so hard she fell over.

Right, she seemed not to have gotten around to telling her daughter how long they’d actually be gone.

No wonder she was so grandly giving away her cherished valuables, thinking it would be so long before she came back?

”Hahahahaha.” Shu Yu couldn’t hold it back and laughed anyway.

Little Mianmian turned around bewildered, her eyes still welling with tears, ”Mother, you’re laughing so hard I can’t even cry anymore.”

”Then... then don’t cry, hahaha.” Shu Yu squatted down and wiped her eyes, ”Sweetie, we’re going to the Capital for less than a year, we’ll be back soon.”
