The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

The old lady kept watching Mianmian as she entered the Meng family, finally retrieving her gaze.

After Mianmian returned to the Meng family, she immediately let go of Ying Xi’s hand and dashed towards the study.

”Daddy, Daddy, I’m back.”

Meng Yunzheng was writing, but upon hearing her, he put down his pen immediately. Just as he opened the door to the study, Little Mianmian, with her flushed little face, ran inside.

”Daddy.”

Meng Yunzheng picked up his daughter, took a handkerchief, and carefully wiped her sweat, smiling as he asked, ”Did you have fun?”

”Yes.” Mianmian nodded vigorously, ”Daddy, what are you doing?”

”Writing.” Meng Yunzheng held her as he sat behind the desk, pointing at the words above and asking her, ”Do you still recognize the words I taught you yesterday?”

Little Mianmian squinted her eyes, her little face scrunched up, then shook her little head and confidently said, ”I don’t remember.”

Yesterday, Daddy taught so many words that her tiny head couldn’t hold them all. While playing today, some of them got squeezed out.

Meng Yunzheng, ”...” Alright, this word does have quite a few strokes, and it’s indeed not easy for an almost three-year-old child to remember.

”Should Daddy teach you again?”

Mianmian shook her head, ”Yesterday was for learning words. Today should be about drawing.”

Meng Yunzheng laughed, ”Okay, whatever you say goes. Let’s do some drawing, then we can eat afterward.”

The little one immediately got excited, skillfully fetching two sheets of drawing paper, handing one to Meng Yunzheng and unfolding one in front of herself.

Meng Yunzheng placed her on a high stool beside him; this stool was specially made for her by Lu Erbai following Shu Yu’s design for a kid’s chair. The height of the chair aligned with the desk, and the tray in front could be removed so she could lay her drawing paper on Meng Yunzheng’s desk and paint alongside him.

Meng Yunzheng moved his chair aside, leaving a big part of the space for her.

Mianmian quickly settled down, spread out her paper, and grabbed a pen to dip into ink.

Meng Yunzheng raised an eyebrow, ”Already decided what you want to draw?”

”I have lots of ideas today,” Mianmian replied without even raising her head.

Meng Yunzheng chuckled, ”Alright, then put all your ideas on paper.”

After saying that, he stopped paying attention to her and started grinding ink himself.

In the spacious study, father and daughter each had half a table, neither disturbing the other, each utterly focused on their own creation.

Little Mianmian’s movements were quick, and after finishing her drawing, she contently admired it for a while before turning her little head to look at Meng Yunzheng’s drawing.

As she watched, her eyebrows furrowed. Daddy’s drawing... wasn’t good, all black lines that looked like worms, nowhere as bright and colorful as her painting. Ah, no wonder Mother told Daddy to draw less, it turns out this was the reason.

Little Mianmian wore a look of sudden realization.

Meng Yunzheng finished the last stroke, stood there, just like his daughter, admiring his work for a moment, then took out a stamp from the drawer to seal one corner of the paper.

Little Mianmian’s eyes lit up, oh, you need to stamp it after finishing a drawing?

Meng Yunzheng put down the stamp, looked up, and met his daughter’s round, bright eyes.

He immediately smiled, ”Finished your drawing?”

”Mhm.”

”Can Daddy have a look?”

The little one, unconcerned with the colorful marks on her body, proudly handed her masterpiece to Meng Yunzheng, quietly awaiting his praise.

Meng Yunzheng took one look at it, and his first impression was, ”...” A bit ugly.
