The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Ying Xi, ”...” Who told you that it would take five or six years to return?

She remembered that when Miss was chatting with her husband, she only mentioned that it would take at most five or six months to come back.

The little Miss’s exaggerated tone... isn’t it a bit too much?

Huohuo also looked surprised. Compared to Mianmian, who still has a vague concept of time, Huohuo knows very well how long five or six years is.

He didn’t quite understand, ”Why would you go for five or six years? Are you going to live there from now on? Are you going to buy a house in the capital?”

Little Mianmian blinked, ”Go for five or six years, do you have to buy a house?”

”Of course, if it’s not a short stay, if you don’t buy a house, you’ll have to stay in an inn, which can be quite expensive.”

Mianmian looked even more worried, ”That’s not good, staying in an inn is not an option, so, is it expensive to buy a house in the capital?”

”Expensive, it’s the most expensive place in the whole Dasu.”

Mianmian sighed, looked down at her own belly, ”Then from now on, I’ll eat less to save money for a house.”

”Don’t worry, if your family doesn’t have money, ask my father and mother for a loan. My father’s clinic is making a lot of money now; when I go back, I’ll tell him, and he will definitely agree.”

”Thank you, brother.”

Ying Xi nearly couldn’t hold back his laughter; how did the topic divert to this point?

Luckily, the two little ones kept talking and soon reached Yu Garden, where the old lady was waiting at the courtyard gate. Seeing them holding hands as they came in, she immediately smiled, ”Have you both had lunch?”

”We have.” Mianmian ran over, ”Great-grandmother, quickly lull Mianmian to sleep.”

”Alright, alright, let’s go inside for a nap.”

Mianmian climbed onto the bed, took off her shoes, and lay down straight on the bed, looking as tranquil as ever.

Huohuo lay down on the other side, and took a small thin blanket to cover Mianmian’s belly, gently patting it.

The old lady knew that the two little ones always slept well and would be asleep in no time, so she softly hummed a tune by the bedside for a while, then stopped and quietly left the room.

Unexpectedly, as soon as she left, Mianmian, filled with thoughts, turned and whispered, ”Brother, are you asleep?”

”No, what’s up?”

”Brother, have you been to the capital?”

Talking about this, Huohuo became spirited. He sat up and replied in a similarly soft voice, ”Been there, I went to the capital when I was one year old.”

Mianmian was shocked, ”One year old?”

”Yes, you don’t know, the capital is huge and bustling, the streets are crowded with people, and maybe as you casually glance, you might spot someone who’s an important official. Entering any shop, you’ll see things you’ve never seen before.”

Actually, Huohuo doesn’t remember what the capital was like at all.

Seriously, who remembers things at the age of one?

But this didn’t stop him from knowing from his father and mother’s tales that he indeed went to the capital. Especially his father, who always said back then Huohuo cried and begged to cling to him and stubbornly insisted on going.

Huohuo thought he wasn’t like that at all; his father must be exaggerating intentionally.

So when he talked to Mianmian about it, he embellished the story a bit.

”Back then, it was your father, my second uncle, who needed to go to the capital for exams. Then my father insisted on going along. You say, my father didn’t need to take the exams, so what was he joining the fun for? My second uncle was going for serious business, so of course, he didn’t agree. That’s when I stood out and said I wanted to see the capital, and only then did my second uncle agree to take my father along.”
