The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 989: Chapter 989: A Bold Idea

Ever since Shu Yu’s identity as the Village Chief was revealed, this figure pursed her lips and quietly retreated two steps backward. She instructed the maid beside her, ”Go, fetch the Third Young Master back. Tell him something has happened at home, and make sure to clearly explain the cause and consequences in advance.”

”Yes, Second Young Madam.”

Ms. Mo, referred to as the Second Young Madam, tightly gripped the handkerchief in her hand. This was a rare opportunity; if she didn’t use this incident to suppress Ms. Mei, the latter would only grow more insolent in the future.

Thinking of her still-young daughter, Ms. Mo took a deep breath and turned her head to look into the courtyard.

To her surprise, Ms. Mei, whether overwhelmed or simply unwilling to face the situation, suddenly fell straight backward and fainted on the ground.

The crowd: ”...” Faking it, right? Definitely faking it?

Ms. Yu regretted not fainting first; it was too late for that now.

She could only loudly shout, ”Sister-in-law, Sister-in-law, what’s wrong with you? You mustn’t have anything happen to you! Why are you all just standing there? Go call the doctor and hurry to carry her into the room!”

The others quickly reacted, lowered their heads, and rushed forward, pretending to be busily occupied as they swarmed to lift Ms. Mei and took her inside.

Shu Yu and Yuehua exchanged a glance and clicked their tongues.

What use is fainting? Reality must be faced sooner or later.

Everyone else ran into the house, leaving only Shu Yu and Yuehua’s people in the courtyard at the moment.

Yuehua then softly and worriedly said, ”Yu, I’m sorry, we failed to manage things properly, and it was my Sister-in-law targeting me. This resulted in dragging you into it, and even the blueprint was destroyed. But don’t worry, my husband carefully studied the blueprint and has a good memory. After reading it, he can recall it entirely and redraw it without issue. It’s just that... Lord Yao... I’m afraid it won’t be easy to explain to him.”

Shu Yu was a little surprised that the Third Young Master Fan actually possessed such ability. Seeing Yuehua’s guilty expression as though she wished she could burrow underground, Shu Yu couldn’t help but laugh.

Seeing no one come out of the house, Shu Yu finally lowered her voice and said, ”Don’t worry, that blueprint wasn’t drawn by Lord Yao.”

Yuehua froze, ”Ah? Then, wouldn’t...”

”They are far too presumptuous. It was merely to scare them a little.” Earlier, when Shu Yu heard Yuehua recount her Sister-in-law and her mother-in-law’s antics, Shu Yu had only sighed in disbelief.

Now that she had seen it firsthand, she realized Yuehua had understated the matter. These two women were clearly skilled at exploiting their own family members. Destroying the blueprint impacted not just Lu Sanzhu but the entire Fan family—what were they thinking?

Yuehua understood now and realized Yu was trying to support her.

Hmm... If that’s the case, she couldn’t let this effort go to waste.

A bold idea suddenly flashed through Yuehua’s mind. It wasn’t the first time it had crossed her thoughts, but at this moment, it felt particularly compelling.

She subtly tightened her grip on Shu Yu’s hand and softly asked, ”Yu, what do you think of me taking this opportunity to request splitting the family? Do you think it could work?”

Splitting the family?

Shu Yu pondered for a moment before nodding, ”If your husband feels the same way, then there’s no problem.”

Yuehua’s eyes lit up, ”He wants to split the family even more than I do.”

She had overheard her husband complain more than once that the main branch was holding them back, and he was sick of cleaning up their messes. If he could strike out on his own, life would be far easier and more satisfying.

Shu Yu blinked in surprise; this certainly was unexpected.

”Alright, then I’ll help you to the end. Later, work with me, and I’ll set the stage for you.”
