The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 964: Chapter 964: Return to the County Town

Shu Yu frowned, Little Ya’er was in such a condition that it was impossible to forcibly feed her.

But she couldn’t not eat.

Shu Yu thought for a moment, squatted by the bedside, gently patted her back, and said softly, ”Little Ya’er, would you like to eat a little something? After drinking the porridge, I’ll take you to see Grandpa, okay?”

These words indeed had an effect, as the little girl suddenly opened her eyes and stared at her intently.

After a while, her lips moved slightly, and large tears fell down, her voice hoarse, like a wounded little animal, ”Grandpa, was harmed by someone...”

”The bad guy has been caught.”

The little girl’s eyes widened slightly, as if disbelieving Shu Yu.

However, Shu Yu nodded affirmatively at her, ”He’s been caught.”

Little Ya’er’s tears suddenly flowed even more fiercely, but she still did not make a sound, just silently cried without a sound.

Shu Yu continued to gently pat her back, ”Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid, the officers have come, they won’t let the bad guys escape or let them hurt you again.”

The little girl continued to cry silently.

Shu Yu spent a little more time softly comforting her, then reached out to Aunt Hu.

The latter quickly handed over the sugar-added porridge, and when Shu Yu fed Little Ya’er again, she didn’t keep her mouth closed any longer.

But she still ate with great difficulty, and even worse, after being fine at first and taking a few sips, she suddenly leaned over the bedside and vomited.

Not only did she vomit all the porridge she had just been fed, but also the only sour liquid left in her stomach.

After vomiting, she fainted again.

Uncle Hu hurried over to take her pulse and felt her forehead, his brows furrowed tightly, ”The fever has started again, and it’s more severe than before. I... I am powerless.”

That is to say, the medicine Shu Yu had taken out was also ineffective.

Little Ya’er not only had caught a cold and fever, but was also accompanied by fear and inflammation from injuries, and with not having eaten for two days, her immunity was lowered. It was already remarkable she had held on until now.

Shu Yu made a prompt decision, picked up the thin blanket from the bed and wrapped the little girl, saying to Jiang Kuanyu, ”Young Master Jiang, I know a very skilled doctor; I’ll take Little Ya’er into the county town to see him. As for the manor’s matters, could we please wait a day and talk about it tomorrow?”

Jiang Kuanyu naturally had no objection, ”Rescuing her is urgent, I’ll leave Little Ya’er in your care.”

Shu Yu nodded, called for Daniu and Lu Sanzhu, and directly got onto the mule carriage.

Before departing, she again said to Jiang Kuanyu outside the window, ”Also, when the officers return, please let my maid follow them back to the city.”

”Don’t worry.”

Shu Yu let down the curtain, and Daniu gave the reins a fierce shake, making the mule carriage quickly move forward.

Shu Yu rubbed her temples, she hadn’t expected that just coming to buy a manor would involve encountering so many things.

The child must hold on, nothing must happen.

Even though the mule carriage hurried as fast as possible, the distance was somewhat far, and by the time they entered the city, a long queue had formed at the city gate.

Shu Yu, for the first time, used her status as Village Chief to expedite entry, going in through the side.

The carriage headed straight for Liufang Alley, and Shu Yu didn’t have time to return to her own home before she knocked on the Meng family’s courtyard door.

Zhao Xi and Meng Yunzheng were both at home, even Ah Ning was there studying Medical Skill.

Seeing Shu Yu holding a fainted, very disheveled little girl, everyone froze.

”Rescue her.” Shu Yu handed the child to Zhao Xi.

Faced with the sick, Zhao Xi’s expression immediately turned serious.
