Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 176: Chapter 164: Let’s Study Together

”Qianqian, honestly, you’re really impressive; your grades are great too,” Li Qi suggested approvingly as they sat together waiting for the lunch break.

”What, you want to call me ’Dad’ too?” Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes ungracefully twice. ”You guys have the power and the connections. Even if your grades are bad, you can still bump them up. It’s not the same for me. If I don’t make it, my brother will beat me.” Although it’s highly unlikely for middle schoolers, she still didn’t want to take on the task because it was too much trouble.

”It doesn’t have to be too troublesome; just writing homework together in the classroom after school isn’t bad, right? You wouldn’t want me, the proud class commissary of Class Nine, to have one of the lowest ranks in our grade, would you?” Li Qi looked at Pei Yuhao with a full expectation and couldn’t help feeling annoyed. ”Aren’t you going to help persuade her? What are you doing just watching the fun? Weren’t you the one who suggested this in the first place?”

Pei Yuhao quickly moved to You Yong’s seat, facing Luo Qianqian with a flattering smile. ”Qianqian, look, I’ve already taken over your duty day duties; how about I handle everything else the school arranges from now on?”

”Everything? Everything I’m unwilling to do at school?” Luo Qianqian raised an eyebrow.

”Yes, yes, everything. Even for the Art Festival, we wouldn’t force you if you don’t want to participate,” Pei Yuhao promised, patting his chest.

”Then let me trouble you with something first, go to the restroom for me,” Luo Qianqian said, expectantly looking at Pei Yuhao.

”Alright, on it,” Pei Yuhao stood up and then stopped, staring blankly at Luo Qianqian. ”Huh? Go to the restroom for you?”

”That’s not okay? Then change it,” Luo Qianqian pursed her lips. ”You run in my place for the sports day events.”

”The women’s events,” Pei Yutian reminded his brother who was about to guarantee his participation from behind.

Pei Yuhao looked at Luo Qianqian with a troubled expression. ”You can’t just make things hard for people like that; even if I put on a wig and a skirt, I won’t look like a girl.”

”Then why make blind promises? A real man’s word is his bond; he must be as good as his word, and once a word is spoken, it can’t be taken back, you know?” Luo Qianqian pouted her mouth. ”I’ll go home and ask my brother, and we’ll discuss this if he agrees.”

”I’ll go home and ask too. Later, I’ll talk to Xia Qi.” Li Qi nodded, knowing that it wasn’t something they could confirm today and it was definitely not possible without informing their families.

”Count me in, and Han Lei too,” Shen Yan walked over from her seat. ”If it’s possible, Luo Qianqian, please include us as well.”

Luo Qianqian looked at Shen Yan in surprise; how could she know what they were discussing from so far away? She nodded, ”If it’s possible, no problem.”

”So now we’ve settled on me, Li Qi, Shen Yan, Han Lei, with Xia Qi still to confirm,” Pei Yuhao counted on his fingers.

”Pei Yuhao, am I not a person?” Pei Yutian looked at his brother with a frown.

”You want to join too? Just go home and eat candy,” but still he reluctantly added a finger to the count.

”Let’s confirm with our families first, I also need to ask at home. Don’t get your hopes too high,” Luo Qianqian spread her hands, knowing that the school was quite far and that she had to take a bus; whether her brother would agree was still a question.

”We’ll definitely make it, it’s just you girls who are the trouble,” Pei Yuhao muttered under his breath. As he looked up, he saw the girls around him giving him unfriendly looks, and he quickly corrected himself: ”After all, girls are princesses; it’s normal for their families to be concerned.”

”At least you’re sensible,” Li Qi put down the chair he was holding.

Pei Yutian turned his head away, not wanting to look at his brother. Didn’t he know that trouble comes from careless talk?

After getting home, Luo Qianqian mentioned it to Luo Shufan, who frowned and thought for a while: ”Your school ends half an hour earlier than ours. How about this, you can stay at school for an hour, and I’ll come and pick you up after my school ends. Just don’t run off.”

Luo Qianqian was surprised at how easily her brother agreed; he approved just like that?

Seeing his sister’s expression, Luo Shufan knew what she was thinking. But he couldn’t say he was worried she might feel lonely at home and get lost in her thoughts to the point of fainting again; such heavy concerns shouldn’t fall on a child’s shoulders.

”You’d be hungry if you waited at home anyway; better to come back with me and have your favorite dishes,” Luo Shufan said, smiling, without revealing his true thoughts to his sister. ”I’m also happy that you have so many good friends. After all, the snacks are delicious.” The snacks Luo Qianqian brought from school at the start of the term were naturally not all for her; she had shared them with her mother and brother.

Luo Qianqian pursed her lips, the snacks were a gift from Gu Yanzhi, and Gu Yanzhi wouldn’t be in Class Nine; he was a top student from Class One, okay?

”So, will you wait for me at the school gate tomorrow? Or shall I call you to come down?” Luo Shufan asked softly, looking at his sister. ”Do you have enough money in your pocket? Do you need to buy some snacks to avoid getting hungry?”

”Wait for your call, it’s still a bit cold now,” Luo Qianqian mumbled, puffing up her cheeks. ”It’s just an hour; am I that frail?”

To Luo Qianqian’s surprise, the next day at school, not a single parent objected. All of them let their children bring their cellphones to stay in contact and to pick them up in advance.

”Lucky it’s just the six of you, otherwise baby would have a hard time,” Luo Qianqian mumbled with unwilling fullness on her face.

”How old are you, still calling yourself a baby?” Li Qi said without a trace of courtesy, ”Where’s the so-called ’Dad’?”

”Right, kids, hurry up and call ’Dad’.” Luo Qianqian thought of this and turned towards Pei Yuhao.

Pei Yuhao excused himself to go to the bathroom and fled.

Luo Qianqian turned to look at Pei Yutian.

Pei Yutian used the excuse that Pei Yuhao went to the bathroom without taking paper, so he needed to deliver paper, and then he ran off too.

With no other choice, Luo Qianqian shifted her gaze to the last boy, Han Lei.

Han Lei looked at Luo Qianqian, let out a ’tsk’ of laughter, and then turned his head away.

Luo Qianqian said with a wronged tone, ”My sons don’t acknowledge me anymore; are they going to dishonor their teacher and annihilate their ancestors?”

”This Dad of yours could fit one son into two, and even three, aren’t you afraid they’ll beat you up?” Li Qi turned back and looked at Luo Qianqian with a face full of laughter.

”You’re being too negligent as a Mom, Xia Qi. As the second Mom, you should discipline this big Mom. Hmm? Big Mom?” Luo Qianqian couldn’t help laughing first, ”Shen Yan, as the third Mom, keep this rebellious son Han Lei in line.”

The girls got into character very quickly; Shen Yan adopted the attitude of a parent and started to educate Han Lei, who was turning his head away. Xia Qi also seriously said that Li Qi shouldn’t treat the Master like that.

Hmm? Master? That’s right, Luo Qianqian was not only cross-dressing but also the one with the highest seniority.

After telling Xiu Xian that they would do homework in the classroom, a few of them gathered around Luo Qianqian and started to tackle today’s math homework.

”Qianqian, how do you solve this problem?” Li Qi had been working for a while and felt embarrassed to ask when no one else did, but couldn’t understand it no matter what, and couldn’t make heads or tails of the example problem.

”This problem,” Luo Qianqian leaned in to explain but then saw the other five people had also come over without exception, and paused, ”All of you don’t understand it?”

Seeing them all shaking their heads in unison, Luo Qianqian sighed, took the workbook, and since it was after school hours, went up to the teacher’s desk, picked up some chalk, pulled a stool over, stood on it, and began to draw and explain the problem.

Li Qi and the other five moved to the front row, nodding occasionally as they watched the problem being explained on the blackboard.

”This method is a bit cumbersome, did you all understand?” Luo Qianqian felt that this method was the least likely to make mistakes, but she preferred a method she had devised herself.

Seeing only Li Qi nodding, Luo Qianqian said, ”I have another simpler method, but it involves some knowledge from later on.”

”Go ahead and explain, you’re very clear, and I can understand,” Shen Yan nodded and spread open her notebook.

Then, Luo Qianqian drew another diagram and explained the second method.

Xiu Xian, who was passing by the classroom, stopped in the corridor, then chuckled. When had they gotten themselves a little teacher?

Feeling her phone vibrate, Luo Qianqian stopped, answered the call, and through the classroom window, saw her brother’s tall figure: ”I’ll come down right away, wait for me a bit.”

”Dad, class is over.” Seeing Luo Qianqian on the phone, everyone in the classroom couldn’t help but take out their own phones to contact their family.

Luo Qianqian saw that the six students’ workbooks were almost full while she had only done a few problems herself, and said, frustrated, ”Is this studying together? It’s more like you’re making me into a tutor.”

”Qianqian, leave me your number, so I can call you when I have questions,” Shen Yan said with a smile, taking out her phone and handing it to Luo Qianqian.

Luo Qianqian entered her number, called her own phone to confirm, but said, ”Please don’t, my throat is already hoarse. Spare me, I still have my own homework to do.”

They all froze, realizing that Luo Qianqian had been talking for almost an hour without drinking water. They had been too selfish.

”Luo Qianqian, let me give you a ride,” Pei Yuhao offered, his family’s car had already been waiting outside.

Luo Qianqian shook her head, ”No need, my brother is taking me to buy groceries and cook.”
