Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 166: Chapter 155: Luo Family’s Defenders

”Luo Qianqian, don’t think you’re anything special just because you’re from the Luo Family. You’ll get married off one day too! A gentleman’s revenge can wait ten years!” Xu Xiaoxiao couldn’t contain her anger when she looked at Luo Qianqian, and since Grandpa Xu didn’t take her side, she could only make threats.

”You needn’t worry about me. If the man I marry can’t protect me, why would I marry him?” Luo Qianqian scoffed. ”You’re right, a gentleman’s revenge can wait ten years, but I’m petty and hold grudges.”

”Oh, who dares to speak ill of Qianqian at my doorstep?” Luo Yanhao’s unrestrained voice came through, truly surprising Luo Qianqian. She hadn’t expected her second brother to be back.

”Isn’t that Xu Su? Why don’t you come in?” Luo Xisi appeared at the door dressed in military green, brightening Luo Qianqian’s eyes.

”Uncle, Brother, Second Brother!” Luo Qianqian was so excited to see the familiar faces before her she could hardly contain herself. ”Where’s my little uncle?”

”Your Fourth Uncle is not in the same unit as us, I don’t know where he’s off to now.” Luo Xisi stroked Luo Qianqian’s hair, not missing the swelling on her face.

With an awkward expression, Xu Su greeted him, ”You’re back, Luo Xisi. You look even more robust.”

”What’s going on?” Luo Yanhai didn’t have the patience for pleasantries and immediately pulled Luo Shufan aside to talk.

Luo Xisi, on the other hand, took his wife aside. His face was getting darker by the moment, and his glance at Xu Su grew increasingly fierce.

Seeing that his brother and uncle had gone to handle the situation, Luo Yanhao picked up Luo Qianqian and faced Xu Su while saying, ”Did you miss your brother? Have you been bullied? Now that brother is back, I can help you get revenge.”

Luo Qianqian, already eighteen and over six feet tall, was in Luo Yanhao’s arms, allowing her to look down on Xu Xiaoxiao and even Xu Su, who seemed much less imposing at five foot nine.

”Luo Qianqian, don’t think having your brothers back means you can show off!” Xu Xiaoxiao was somewhat tongue-tied when she looked up at the tall Luo Yanhao.

Xu Su almost wished he could slap his own daughter. You didn’t say earlier that now, with everyone back, you’re worried they’d come after you for accountability, are you?

”Show off? Does my sister need someone’s backing to do so?” Luo Yanhao looked at Xu Xiaoxiao with a mocking expression. ”And what right do you have to point fingers at my sister in front of me?”

”Ahem, Xiaohao, that’s Grandpa Xu’s granddaughter you’re talking about.” Jia Ning was moved by her son’s protective nature, knowing he had grown up and was defending his sister – something he had done since Luo Qianqian was brought home to the Luo family, never going easy even when fighting his brother.

”How many sisters do I have? One Qianqian is enough,” Luo Yanhao said, disagreeing with Jia Ning, but then he turned with a mischievous grin, ”Mom, are you planning to give me another sister?”

”Exactly, one Qianqian is enough. If we had a sister who always stirs up trouble and looks for conflicts, wouldn’t we be exhausted?” Luo Yanhai, after understanding what had transpired between Luo Qianqian and the Xu family, recalled his mother’s message. Since he was already on his way back, he hadn’t inquired further, but now it seemed he’d have to seriously deal with that Xu Tianyi when he got back.

”Look at what you’re saying, my Qianqian is sensible and adorable, she wouldn’t cause trouble,” Luo Yanhao said, noting his brother’s angry stare at Xu Su and instantly realizing his sister’s bruising must’ve been Xu Su’s doing.

”So obedient and sensible, yet there are still people who deliberately provoke her.” Luo Yanhai glared at Xu Xiaoxiao, and years of military discipline made her cry out in fear as soon as their eyes met.

”Ahem, Xiaohao, Yanhai, you should visit Grandpa first before coming back. He’s been waiting for a long time.” Luo Xisi, noticing Old Master Luo’s amused gaze, knew their timing for the return was perfect, greatly pleasing the old man.

”Brother, you go first,” Luo Qianqian said obediently, standing on the ground and smiling at her brothers.

Knowing they had returned and should first pay their respects to the Old Master, Luo Yanhai and Luo Yanhao nodded and headed his way. They presumed that with their return, those two wouldn’t dare to lay a hand on them anymore, but things took an unexpected turn.

”Slap slap” Luo Qianqian was slapped twice by Xu Xiaoxiao: ”Don’t think you’ve got a backer just because your brothers are back. This is what you owe me!”

Luo Qianqian couldn’t help but let tears fall when slapped unexpectedly. Her brothers, who hadn’t yet reached the Old Master, turned livid, and even Old Master Xu stood up in a rage, walking over to Xu Su and slapping him, ”What a daughter you’ve raised!”

With tears streaming down, Luo Qianqian looked at Xu Xiaoxiao’s smug face, who didn’t stop smiling even as her father got hit.

”Slap slap slap slap” Luo Qianqian clenched her teeth and returned four slaps. She had never been so humiliated before, so why shouldn’t she fight back? Crying on the side wasn’t going to give the perpetrator any awareness of wrongdoing.

Xu Xiaoxiao was taken aback and raised her hand to strike again, but Luo Shufan behind Luo Qianqian grabbed it. With gritted teeth, Luo Qianqian kicked at Xu Xiaoxiao’s stomach, and just as Luo Shufan withdrew his hand, Xu Xiaoxiao fell seated on the steps. There was no one yet born who could make Luo Qianqian suffer like this. Luo Yanhai and Luo Yanhao protected Luo Shufan and Luo Qianqian from either side, fearful of letting their brother and sister be hurt again.

”Is this the family discipline of the Luo Family?” Xu Su, already upset from receiving a slap from his father, was even more distressed to see his daughter beaten and kicked out the door.

”The Luo Family is not for outsiders to comment on! But to hit a member of my family in front of everyone, Xu Family’s discipline, we’ve certainly seen it today.” Luo Xisi looked at Luo Qianqian’s swollen face with a tender look and said coldly.

”Boss.” Old Master Luo stood at the door, looking at Luo Qianqian’s little face, also feeling heartache.

”Dad.” Luo Xisi stepped aside, as Old Master Luo held a superior rank in their occupations and was the elder at home, he had no reason to dispute with Old Master Luo.

”Old Xu, even my grandchildren can be hit in my own house. I won’t interfere in this matter; it’s up to you to deal with it. If you don’t handle it well, people who support my granddaughter have already returned, and if you don’t handle it, they will,” Old Master Luo said with satisfaction as he nodded at Luo Yanhai and Luo Yanhao’s stance.

”Rest assured.” Old Master Xu kicked Xu Su in frustration: ”Take Xu Xiaoxiao and roll back home!”

”Xu Xiaoxiao, is it?” Luo Yanhao stepped forward with a smile: ”I don’t dare to speak for other places, but in Capital City, there are still people willing to give me face. If Qianqian is not satisfied with today’s events, don’t ever think it’s over!” Luo Yanhao menacingly glared at Xu Xiaoxiao, thinking she dared to act tough in the Luo residence when she had no idea what kind of mud she was crawling out of when he was at school, was he, Second Master Luo, to be trifled with?

Xu Xiaoxiao shivered, got up, and hid behind Xu Su.

”Kid, who are you talking to?” Xu Su couldn’t bear to see his daughter’s state and quickly came to her defense.

”Who are you talking to?” Old Master Xu glared at Xu Su, and Xu Su visibly shrank away.

”Rest assured, Grandpa Xu will give you an explanation!” Old Master Xu shouted at his son and granddaughter: ”Let’s go!”

Luo Qianqian shook her head; it was a loss of face indeed, to have such a child was truly a curse. As she shook her head, the movement tugged at her face, and she let out a slight hiss, drawing the Luo family’s sideways glances. Luo Qianqian quickly shut her mouth and ran to Old Master Luo with an obedient look: ”Grandpa, Qianqian knows she was wrong, don’t be angry, I accept the punishment.”

”You were wrong,” Old Master Luo said coldly: ”Can’t you dodge a bit? How can a young lady like you afford to spoil your looks? Old Ma, are the eggs boiled yet?” After speaking, he knelt down with a pained expression to check Luo Qianqian’s face.

Luo Yanhai and Luo Yanhao were shocked by this preferential treatment, as they remembered their own childhood when they got hurt in fights and brought wounds home, Old Master Luo would say losing was shameful, winning and getting hurt was also shameful. They had to train more.; then he dragged them off to practice military boxing, horse stance, child’s play.

”It is time to train, but she’s a bit too young for that. Boss, when are you heading back?” Old Master Luo pinched his granddaughter’s thin arms and legs, looking displeased: ”Too weak, no wonder she couldn’t dodge.”

”Dad, I’ve just come back.” Luo Xisi had just sat down to drink some hot tea when he was startled by Old Master Luo’s words and almost spat it out.

”Who doesn’t know you’ve just got back? I’m asking when you’re leaving,” Old Master Luo glared with a purpose: ”Take Shufan and Qianqian inside and train them, they’re too weak.”

”Dad, that’s nepotism,” Luo Xisi thought to himself, weren’t you always the one who hated taking shortcuts?

”So?” Old Master Luo glowered: ”Do you have a problem with that?”

”No problem, no problem. We’ll leave in a couple of days. Isn’t it the New Year? Aren’t we allowed a break?” Luo Xisi quickly replied.

”Grandpa~” Luo Qianqian sweetly called out to Old Master Luo: ”Big uncle and the brothers have just arrived. Don’t you think they should eat something first?”

”Aren’t they big enough to take care of themselves?” Old Master Luo glared: ”If they’re hungry, they can go to the kitchen.”

Luo Xisi dejectedly headed to the kitchen. With Old Master Luo showing authority, he dared not provoke him.

”Eggs.” Yue Tingyu handed Luo Qianqian a peeled egg: ”Little girls ought to train properly. If you just confront others like this, what if they have a knife? Wouldn’t you be disfigured?”

”Grandma, I’m not an idiot. If I see a knife, I’d run away,” Luo Qianqian obediently stood still, letting her grandmother roll the egg over her face.

”Brothers, are you hungry?” Luo Shufan saw that the entire family was paying attention to his sister, while the brothers were still standing, and the big uncle had already gone to eat, so he had to ask.

”Oh, right, let’s eat.” Luo Yanhai’s stomach growled: ”Let’s go, let’s go. How can we fight on an empty stomach?”

”...” Luo Shufan watched his two brothers go to eat, the big aunt and second aunt were still looking at Luo Qianqian’s face with pity from the outside. Grandpa was sitting on one side, while grandma was sitting in front of Luo Qianqian rolling an egg on her face.

”I’m going to eat as well.” Despite not having digested his lunch yet, he really didn’t want to see his sister’s pitiable face any longer. Luo Shufan also escaped.
