Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 164: Chapter 153: Xu Family Comes Knocking

```
Saying this, she slapped Xu Xiaoxiao across the face again, ”If you want revenge, come at me yourself, don’t involve Xu Tianyi! If I learn that you’ve troubled Xu Tianyi, I, Luo Qianqian, will fight you to the death!”
After finishing her rant, she stormed away with Luo Shufan, leaving the crowd with a face full of anger.
”Qianqian, you’ve got some nerve now, huh? Hitting people?” No sooner had they left the crowd than Luo Shufan began to scold his sister.
Luo Qianqian’s face was filled with grievance: ”Am I to blame? Weren’t you angered by what she said? Whether it’s about you or Xiao Yu, I would’ve been unhappy and definitely would’ve gotten into a fight. Besides, Xu Tianyi has been nice to me, even helping you with problems. Not standing up to her would ruin my conscience.”
Upon hearing this, Luo Shufan realized there was indeed some truth to her words. He, too, was angered, but he couldn’t lower himself to argue with girls, especially one younger than him. His sister taking action did align with his thoughts but he couldn’t let his sister detect his approval: ”Next time, even if there’s no one around you know, you are not to lay a hand on anyone. What if you’re retaliated against?”
”I am a little worried that Xu Xiaoxiao will go back and make things difficult for Xu Tianyi.” Luo Qianqian began to regret her actions, fearing the trouble it could cause Xu Tianyi.
However, at that moment, Ye Qianying had already sent out two messages from her phone, one to her son and one to her husband, each line urging them to take extra care of Xu Tianyi.
”Regretting it now? Isn’t it too late?” Luo Shufan sneered, ”Don’t worry, since Tianyi is in a military school, it’s unlikely that anyone there would intentionally make things difficult for him.”
”But what about when he comes home? Won’t people make it difficult for him then?” Luo Qianqian pouted, deeply regretting her impulsive action.
Luo Shufan was well aware of this problem, but Xu Xiaoxiao was not just annoying, she was extremely annoying.
”Now you’ve learned to regret?” Jia Ning chuckled at their worried expressions, ”Come on, let’s go back and face the punishment. I bet by tomorrow morning at the latest someone will come knocking.”
Luo Qianqian frowned miserably, wishing she hadn’t been so impulsive. Now she’d lost face, her hand hurt, and the main character wasn’t even present—who was she supposed to show her anger to?
”You must not know about our family tradition.” A wink from Jia Ning towards Luo Qianqian, ”Just like you did just now, our Luo family is known for protecting our own.”
”Grandpa and Grandma won’t be mad, right?” Luo Qianqian fretted, and Luo Shufan’s complexion also showed unease.
”Didn’t you think things through before acting? Now you’re nervous?” Ye Qianying, after explaining everything over the phone, couldn’t help but express her annoyance upon hearing Luo Qianqian’s words, ”What if they had more people, how would you have escaped? Don’t you think about the consequences before you act?”
”Auntie, I know I was wrong, but I couldn’t just let her insult Xu Tianyi for nothing,” Luo Qianqian pouted, putting on a face to wheedle her favor.
”How did you even become acquainted with Xu Tianyi? Given that you only see each other once a year, you shouldn’t be that close, right?” Ye Qianying was genuinely curious.
Luo Qianqian opened her mouth but took a moment before explaining, ”Not long after school started last year, Xu Tianyi transferred to my class. Even though he left later, we grew really close.” Good enough to take care of someone’s hospital stay, right?
Ye Qianying frowned, in the same class as Qianqian? She decisively took out her cell phone and started sending messages. There were few who could accomplish such a thing, and to arrange to be in the same class as Qianqian was even harder, without question, it was Luo Xiying who had pulled some strings.
”But next time, you are not to take action.” Jia Ning said, looking at Luo Qianqian’s cautious demeanor with affection, ”Next time make sure you have someone around who can back you up before you fight, otherwise where will you go if you’re wronged?”
Luo Qianqian blinked. Was this an indication that she could still fight if she wanted to?
Seeing the implication in Luo Qianqian’s eyes, Jia Ning tousled her hair, ”We are a military family, and it’s essential to have principles. Defending those close to us is as crucial as defending our country. The family, whether large or small, needs care and love.” Looking at Luo Qianqian’s bright eyes, she added, ”But ’wanting to beat up anyone who displeases you’ is not a good principle to live by.”
After Ye Qianying finished her busy work, Jia Ning drove everyone home. This matter needed to be reported to the Old Master Luo as a precautionary measure.
Upon hearing of this incident, Old Master Luo’s first reaction was, ”What does that boy from the Xu family look like? How healthy is he, how tall? How much weight can he carry in a cross-country race?”
```

”Dad, are you selecting soldiers?” Ye Qianying asked with a sense of helplessness, ”Xu Tianyi is only twelve.”

”A bit young,” Old Master Luo sighed and nodded, ”Find some time to bring him to see me. At any rate, he has to train his body to be like Xiao Er before he can make a respectable appearance.”

Before long, there was a knock on the door, just as Ye Qianying had predicted, the Xu Family came knocking.

Seeing the palm print on Xu Xiaoxiao’s face, Xu Tu was infuriated, and upon hearing that name from his granddaughter’s mouth, he quickly thought of the granddaughter Old Master Luo had been boasting about these past few days and went straight to their doorstep with his people.

”This is your Grandpa Luo, greet him,” Old Master Xu said to Xu Xiaoxiao, who was still standing by the door.

Luo Qianqian came out boldly, following Xu Xiaoxiao’s gaze, and greeted without waiting for Old Master Luo to speak: ”Grandpa Xu, hello.”

”Grandpa, it was this little runt who hit me!” Xu Xiaoxiao pointed at Luo Qianqian and burst into tears to Grandpa Xu.

Old Master Xu didn’t speak and looked at Old Master Luo, waiting for an explanation. Old Master Luo, too, remained silent, intending to see how his granddaughter would handle the situation.

”Grandpa Xu, didn’t you ask why I hit her?” Luo Qianqian laughed softly, ”Look, your granddaughter dared to be rude to me at my home. How can you be so sure it was my fault?”

”You give me...” Xu Xiaoxiao pointed at Luo Qianqian.

”Shut up!” Old Master Xu interrupted Xu Xiaoxiao before she could finish, ”Tell me, why did you hit her?”

”Xu Tianyi from the Xu Family is a good friend of mine. She called Tianyi...I mean, something quite unpleasant in front of me! To stand up for my friend, I don’t see what I’ve done wrong. What’s worth defending about slandering family in front of outsiders? Tianyi holds a special place in my heart as a rare genius, kind and smart, almost godlike. Why should she be allowed to slander him with impunity?”

”What did you call Tianyi?” Old Master Xu held great hopes for his grandson Xu Tianyi, who was also the most beloved child of his late wife. Both emotionally and rationally, he wouldn’t be biased.

”He’s just a little bastard, isn’t he? Why shouldn’t I insult him? My mom said he’s of unknown paternity, just dumped into the Xu Family, and now we have to acknowledge him!” Xu Xiaoxiao crossed the line with no sign of regret.

”Haven’t you heard of something called a signature identification? Do you know what DNA is?” Luo Qianqian scoffed, ”Arguing with you is an insult to the memories I’ve made since I met Tianyi, an insult to intelligence.”

”Qianqian,” Old Master Luo finally spoke up, he couldn’t let Grandpa Xu be too embarrassed.

Luo Qianqian obediently closed her mouth and stood aside.

”Old Xu, look...”

”Xiaoxiao, we’ll deal with your issue when we get home!” Old Master Xu softened his gaze when he looked at Luo Qianqian. He preferred Tianyi over Xiaoxiao, but that prematurely deceased woman who never married into the Xu Family was a source of dissatisfaction for him. Her family background was ordinary, yet she was the child raised by his former wife, so naturally, he wasn’t pleased.

”Qianqian, Grandpa will just call you that, you don’t mind, right?” Old Master Xu said softly.

Luo Qianqian nodded, ”Since you’re Tianyi’s grandpa, of course, it’s okay.” The implication was that if Tianyi didn’t acknowledge him, she wouldn’t either, ”You say, I’ve hit someone, do you want compensation for medical expenses or for emotional distress? Or do you want to hit me back? I promise not to fight back.”

After hearing Luo Qianqian’s words, Old Master Luo immediately watched Old Master Xu warily.

Old Master Xu gave a bitter smile, ”Would I hit a child? Stop this nonsense.”
