Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 165: Chapter 154: The Precious Guardian, Xu Laoer

Xu Xiaoxiao, after hearing what Old Master Xu said, couldn’t help but seethe with anger, yet she had to swallow it down. Without Grandpa’s favor, where would she stand in the Xu Family? So, she secretly sent a message to her father and silently waited for someone who could make decisions for her to arrive.

”Come in and have a seat, Old Xu,” Old Master Luo glanced at Luo Qianqian and then instructed Luo Shufan, ”Xiao Fan, take your sister back to her room to see if she got hurt.” The tone was full of protective intent.

Luo Qianqian stood still for a moment before being dragged upstairs by her brother. Luo Shufan, with a stern look in his eyes, asked Luo Qianqian, ”Does your hand hurt?”

Blinking her eyes, Luo Qianqian looked at her slightly reddened hand, pouted, and with a lamenting face said, ”It hurts.”

”That’s the lesson for daring to hit people! Hurry back to your room, get changed, and wash up. If there’s a next time, you won’t be eating dinner.” Luo Shufan frowned, his face showing a troubled expression. Having such a sister was his fault; he hadn’t paid enough attention to disciplining her, and that’s why she had learned to hit people. What would happen if she got into a fight when he wasn’t around and ended up being wronged?

”Got it, next time I’ll find someone to back me up before I hit anyone,” Luo Qianqian said, seeing her brother’s glaring eyes. She quickly scurried into the room and shut the door, but still, a faint voice came through the crack, ”Worst case, I’ll just find a tough boyfriend.”

Luo Shufan sighed. What more could he say about this sister? She remembers the benefits but forgets the beatings, and now she’s talking about getting a boyfriend? At just ten years old, who’d be interested in a brat like you? You’ve got nothing going for you, other than a sharp mind, short stature, no figure, looking just like the kid sister next door. What kind of monster would think of abducting you? If he finds that person, he won’t let them recognize their own mother after he’s done with them!

Luo Qianqian changed into her home clothes, spun around in front of the mirror, and her radiant smile instantly turned wistful. She was so devoid of appealing aesthetics; if only she were a bit taller. Luo Qianqian gestured her desired height towards the mirror. As for her figure, she was not worried at all, with the strong genes from Luo’s Mom’s side and the memories from her past life, what was there to fear? She was only worried about her skin not turning better, but with proper care in this life, it likely wouldn’t be as terrible as it was in her past life.

”Xiaoxiao!” The Luo Family’s front door was furiously pounded upon. Everyone inside, both Old Master Luo and Old Master Xu, changed their expressions, only Xu Xiaoxiao lifted her face proudly and hurried to open the door for the visitor.

”Daddy.” Xu Xiaoxiao cried out loud, flinging herself into the arms of the man outside, who was none other than her father, Xu Su, the second son of Old Master Xu.

”Laoer, what are you doing here?” Old Master Xu asked with anger in his voice.

Xu Su saw Old Master Xu and subconsciously shrank his neck but then straightened it the next second upon seeing the red swelling on his daughter’s face and said, ”Dad, Xiaoxiao has been wronged. How can I, as her father, not seek justice for my daughter?”

Luo Qianqian and Luo Shufan just happened to come downstairs and stopped upon hearing this, waiting at the corner of the stairs to hear how Xu Su intended to handle the situation.

”Do you know what your daughter has done? And you still dare to stand up for her?” Old Master Xu looked at the father and daughter duo with boiling frustration, ”Who taught her to speak ill of her own family and even got caught in the act?”

”Speak ill of the family?” Xu Su looked at his daughter.

”It’s just that little bastard Xu Tianyi, what did I say wrong?” Xu Xiaoxiao whispered to her father, gripping his arm.

Xu Su initially furrowed his brow upon hearing his daughter’s words but then, seeing her slightly aggrieved expression, he confronted Old Master Xu, ”Dad, Xiaoxiao isn’t wrong. Who knows if that boy is even ours? Why be so nice to him? I bet Lao San is just afraid we’ll split the inheritance and he’ll be left with nothing!” Xu Su bellowed at Old Master Xu, disregarding the fact that they were at the Luo Family home, and also ignoring Old Master Xu’s face, dark as the bottom of a pot.

”Xu Tianyi seems to be quite unwelcome at home,” Luo Qianqian said with a smile in her eyes as she walked downstairs. Luo Shufan, half a step slow, grabbed his sister’s hand, looking at her as she already descended.

”Daddy, it’s this little bitch,” Xu Xiaoxiao pointed at Luo Qianqian and said with wide eyes.

Old Master Xu frowned without speaking, while Old Master Luo, believing that Luo Qianqian wouldn’t do anything excessive, also remained silent by the side.

”Was it you who hit my daughter?” Xu Su, scrutinizing the girl who walked up to him with a calm face, asked with a face full of judgment.

”It was me.” Luo Qianqian didn’t evade; if one could get beaten in their own home, then this father-daughter pair must give the Luo Family an explanation today.

```
”Slap.” Luo Qianqian’s face was struck by a palm; Luo Qianqian was stunned, followed by the dumbfounded Luo Shufan behind her, and Old Master Luo and Old Master Xu quickly stood up.
Luo Qianqian looked incredulously at Xu Su’s raised hand.
”What? You want to hit back?” Xu Su asked dominantly, staring into the girl’s eyes.
Luo Qianqian laughed angrily, ”I slapped Xu Xiaoxiao twice, Uncle isn’t going to slap me one more time?”
”Qianqian!” Luo Shufan pulled his sister behind him and glared at Xu Su and his daughter.
”What’s with that look? Do you also want to hit back?” Xu Xiaoxiao eyed Luo Shufan suspiciously; had she known he was the little bitch’s brother, she might not have been slapped twice.
”Poorly raised. Let my family discipline you on behalf of your parents!” Xu Su said viciously, looking at Luo Qianqian.
”To hit back would, of course, be out of the question,” Luo Qianqian pulled her brother, signaling him with a shake of her head, ”Uncle is an elder, and although my father is no longer with us, my mother is still alive and well, so there’s no need for uncle to overstep and discipline me. If it comes to that, I still have my grandparents, my first aunt and second aunt—no place for outsiders to lecture me!”
”Laoer!” Unable to sit still any longer, Old Master Xu looked apologetically at Old Master Luo, ”This is my fault, I didn’t expect to cause so much trouble for your family. I will deal with it properly.” Old Master Luo held a higher status; Old Master Xu didn’t dare to be presumptuous, but he hadn’t expected his uneducated son to be bold enough to hit someone in their home, especially the granddaughter of the Luo family.
”My granddaughter is right. Even if my son is no longer here, it’s not for your son to discipline, let alone the fact that my children have always behaved well,” Old Master Luo said coldly, his heart aching as he looked at his granddaughter’s slightly swollen face.
”Grandpa, I’m fine,” Luo Qianqian quickly turned around with a smile, her gaze softening considerably towards Old Master Xu, ”Grandpa Xu, you are Brother Tianyi’s grandfather. Qianqian doesn’t want to make things difficult for you. I can handle this matter myself; there’s no need for the grandfathers to worry. Please, continue enjoying your tea and conversation.”
Old Master Luo sat back down, taking his granddaughter’s earnest look seriously. Seeing that Old Master Luo had taken his seat, Old Master Xu had no choice but to sit down and silently observe, although he was very clear that Xu Laoer’s family needed to be kept in check. He had thought small troubles didn’t cause real problems and was willing to enjoy the beauty of having his children and grandchildren around him, but this time it had involved the Luo family, right in front of Old Master Luo.
”Qianqian!” Luo Shufan watched as his sister declined their grandfather’s help, his tone growing anxious.
”Brother, how can I let Grandpa step in for the trouble I caused?” Luo Qianqian gently pulled her brother’s arm, shaking her head lightly, ”If uncle wants to hit me, then let him. Can our younger generation really hit back? However, if Brother talks bad about me behind my back and I catch him, I really will hit him, you know.”
”Where have I... Well, if I did, you can hit me, and I’ll accept it even if your friends join in, since I would be at fault first.” Originally wanting to deny, Luo Shufan changed his mind after seeing his sister’s twitching eyes.
”Don’t blur the concept; that little bastard Xu Tianyi isn’t one of us! He doesn’t look like one, so don’t lump that kind of bastard in with us!” Xu Xiaoxiao wasn’t foolish; she knew exactly what Luo Shufan had implied in his words.
”You don’t acknowledge him? Well, I do. When I call him Brother Tianyi, that’s me recognizing him as my brother. You insult my family and I’m not allowed to fight back? How does that make sense?” Luo Qianqian retorted without hesitation.
Thinking you don’t have enough brothers? Luo Shufan pursed his lips, but thinking of Xu Tianyi, he actually agreed with what his sister said: ”Right, I acknowledge this brother.”
”You say you acknowledge him, but does he even know who you are?” Xu Xiaoxiao snorted coldly; Xu Tianyi’s detached nature was well known in the Xu Family, even Old Master Xu would get one-word answers out of him three questions at a time.
”What does it matter if he acknowledges me or not? I acknowledge him and that’s enough,” Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes. ”If uncle wants to hit me, go ahead, I, Luo Qianqian, will never hit back. However, if I hear someone insulting Xu Tianyi again, I will still defend him.”
Xu Su had been silent this entire time under the stern gaze of Old Master Xu, which was filled with warning—was the old master furious?
