Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 108: Chapter 100: ’Usury’ Buyout of Kinship (Part 1)

```
Several days had passed since the incident, and He Jun had been staying at his unit the whole time, avoiding his mother and brother’s family. Every night he would call his wife and child to report in. Ever since he saw the injuries on He Wenyu’s face, he had become completely disillusioned with his brother’s family, realizing they were good for nothing but dragging him down and bullying his own wife and child.
Sun Ailing was detained for fifteen days for intentional harm and was still in the detention center. Because of that, the old lady’s family had caused a lot of trouble at the shop. Luo’s Mom, no longer concerned about the issue of rent, simply pulled down the shutter and stayed at home, considering renovation plans.
The three of them were in He Wenyu’s room, discussing their strategy.
”Is it really okay to do this?” He Wenyu was a bit scared.
”Just go and talk to your dad, that’s all you need to do. We’re just putting on an act anyway, but we can’t let it get out to the workplace, otherwise your dad could lose his job.” Luo Qianqian held several blank sheets of paper: ”Bai Yixian won’t scam your dad, don’t worry. I’ll sign a contract with them to make sure this doesn’t leave us with any hidden problems.”
”Qianqian, but that still means getting beaten up.” Luo Shufan frowned.
”As long as we’re careful and prepare in advance, it should be fine. I’ve seen Xiao Yu’s uncle and older cousin. Neither of them are tall and they’re both quite fat, so they probably won’t be able to dodge or have much strength.” Luo Qianqian laughed lightly, these two were just like fierce pretenders, all show and no substance, golden on the outside but rotting inside, without any real ability to fight back. Then she muttered under her breath, ”To think they’re all cousins, what a gap.”
”But how do we tell Godmother to throw the severance document in front of that family?” Luo Shufan looked at the professional severance document he was holding: ”We can’t just have Godmother rush over and then have Godfather sign it, can we?”
”Right, even if they sign it, they might say they’ll change their minds later. We can use a voice recorder on a cellphone just to be safe, and we should have them all put their thumbprints on it too, those people don’t play by the rules at all.” Luo Qianqian thought for a moment and said.
”The key is how to get mom and dad to agree to play out this scene.” He Wenyu lay on the bed with a worried look on her face.
”If just one of them agrees, it would be easy, but right now neither might agree, considering it would be disrespectful to their filial duty.” Luo Qianqian also lay down and, after a while, raised her head: ”Xiao Yu, let’s just beat you up, okay?”
”What? Why?” He Wenyu grabbed a pillow to protect herself, warily watching Luo Qianqian.
”No, listen. If you get hurt, your mom and dad will definitely feel bad for you, and they might just agree in the heat of the moment...” Luo Qianqian said, ”but it’s still unreliable for us to do it. If it gets found out, it wouldn’t be good.”
”You’re right.” He Wenyu nodded and said, ”Tomorrow we’ll go to the old house, say we’re out of money and need to get some food, stir up trouble so they’ll hit me, and as long as we have a neighbor to witness it, that’s good enough.”
”But that means you’ll actually get hurt.” Luo Shufan was obviously not in agreement.
”Let’s just do it. Otherwise, sooner or later, my parents will be tormented into divorce by them. If push comes to shove, I’ll sell that house; I won’t keep it for those ingrates to live in.” He Wenyu was resolved.
”I bet they are probably calling you an ungrateful wretch.” Luo Qianqian smiled, ”Considering your aunt is still in detention.”
”No, I’m just a loss to them. I didn’t eat their rice, so why should they call me an ingrate?” He Wenyu scoffed.
”We need to find someone your mom and dad really trust to be a witness.” Luo Qianqian pondered for a moment and then said, ”Since Grandpa Zhang isn’t home, maybe Zhang Ye would do. He should be on duty.”
”That seems fine, but can we really get him to lie for us?” Luo Shufan still seemed worried as he spoke.
”Lie?” Luo Qianqian scoffed coldly, ”Those people will hardly hold back on Xiao Yu, Zhang Ye will witness the truth, we just have to decide what leads up to it.”
He Wenyu looked at Luo Qianqian, as if she didn’t recognize her anymore: ”Qianqian, you scare me like this.”
Luo Qianqian suddenly realized she was getting too absorbed in the act, holding onto resentment from a previous life that hadn’t even happened yet, and shook her head: ”For the sake of your family, being scared isn’t an option.” She deliberately ignored that Xiao Yu’s fear was of her, changing the subject.
”Wear your most ragged clothes tomorrow, the kind that will shed if you get hit.” Luo Shufan thought of ways to minimize harm and suggested.
”Then you’ll have to dress warmly, or you’ll freeze to death.” Luo Qianqian nodded in agreement, then continued, ”Make sure to carry some change with you, who knows, they might even chase you down trying to take it.”
Hearing the two of them, He Wenyu got off the bed and began rummaging through drawers and cupboards, making a face as she searched, ”I don’t have any especially old clothes, mom always threw them away when she cleaned.”
