King of the Wilderness

Chapter 750: Chapter 346: Capsizing Risk, Coast Guard 3

”Screech—!!”

An extremely piercing sound of metal being forcefully tightened rang out!

The boom that was previously wildly dancing seemed to be forcibly choked by an invisible giant hand!

Its kinetic energy was rapidly and intensely dissipated by the enormous friction between the rope and the mast!

Finally, those seemingly inconspicuous ropes locked it tightly beside the mast at an acute angle, leaving it feebly trembling in small movements!

”Rope!” he shouted hoarsely towards Riven, who already had the rope in her hands, his voice sounding coarse from straining to the limit.

Riven seized the opportunity that was bought with life! She immediately dashed over, grabbed the backup rope, and rushed to Lin Yu’an’s side at the fastest speed.

On the violently swaying deck, the two couldn’t help but press tightly against each other, with Riven clearly feeling the tense muscles and scorching body heat on Lin Yu’an’s back.

Without a moment for shyness, she cooperated with Mike, and the three worked together, quickly re-securing the frantically struggling boom.

When the last knot was secured, the boom that not long ago was like the scythe of Death God, was now quietly bound like a thoroughly tamed beast to the side of the ship.

As the adrenaline slowly subsided, a sense of collapse and lingering fear from a close call finally surged up in their hearts.

When everything finally calmed down, the only thing left on the ship was the sound of the three people’s heavy breathing.

[Holy shit!!!!!!!!!!]

[What the hell did I just see?! A miracle with barely any effort?!]

[Tai Chi! This is maritime Tai Chi! He used a rope to lock the boom!]

[This maneuver! I’m stunned! He managed not only to control it but came out completely unscathed!]

[That dumb speedboat must be held accountable!]

Captain Mike looked at Lin Yu’an’s arm, which was trembling slightly from the exertion, and then glanced at the pin on the deck that had broken into two pieces.

His weather-beaten face showed expressions of lingering fear, relief, and anger all at once.

Instead of checking the damage to the ship, he immediately rushed to the VHF radio, grabbed the microphone, and heavily pressed the emergency channel 16 talk button.

”United States Coast Guard, this is the sailing vessel Wanderer. We wish to report an extremely serious incident of reckless driving, requesting a case filing investigation!”

His voice was extremely hoarse and deep with anger, like a lion that had been provoked.

A brief static came through the radio, followed by an official voice speaking calmly:

”Received, Wanderer, this is the United States Coast Guard Fort Lauderdale Station, please report your location and details of the incident.”

”Wait...” The voice on the other end of the radio suddenly changed slightly, seemingly recognizing Mike’s voice.

”Is this Captain Mike Montgomery of Blue Water Sailing Academy?”

The Coast Guard officer directly called out Captain Mike’s full name.

”It’s me, Tom,” Mike evidently also recognized the voice but had no mood for small talk at this moment, still speaking harshly.

”I don’t have time to reminisce! My ship and crew nearly got killed by a bunch of bastards!”

Mike’s anger-filled statement, as well as the surname shouted by the Coast Guard officer, instantly sparked comments in the live chat.

[Holy shit! Montgomery? Is it the Montgomery I’m thinking of?]

[Which Montgomery? Is he famous?]

[Calm down, folks, it might just be a coincidence. There are plenty of Montgomerys in the United States.]

Amidst the buzz of discussion, a knowledgeable comment floated up:

[It’s likely not a coincidence. In the maritime world, the surname Montgomery carries significant weight. It originated from Norman France and is one of the oldest noble families in the United Kingdom. The famous World War II Marshal Montgomery is the most dazzling star of this family. Though it’s unclear which branch Captain Mike belongs to, the Blue Water Sailing Academy is so renowned, the background is hard to say...]

This informative comment instantly changed the viewers’ perception of Mike and Riven in the live chat.

[Nobility? Is Ms. Riven a noble lady? This character setting is top-notch!]

[No wonder Ms. Riven is so classy, cool, and dashing, turns out she has an inherent noble aura!]

[Brother An, I admit my earlier voice was loud, this CP (couple) is indeed fascinating!]

Officer Tom immediately realized the seriousness of the incident; having Captain Montgomery encounter trouble in his jurisdiction was certainly not a small matter.

His tone became extremely serious: ”Understood, Captain Mike Montgomery! Please report your position, we’ll dispatch a vessel immediately!”

”We’re located at...” Mike quickly reported the latitude and longitude, then recounted everything that just happened.

”A deep blue sport fishing boat, at least 80 feet, with four Yamaha outboards, maliciously cut across our bow, hitting us with its wake!”

”The main halyard pulley pin on my ship broke and the mainsail went out of control, a crew member was nearly hit by the boom! The offending vessel has fled to the southeast at high speed!”

”I couldn’t catch the registration number, those bastards were speeding away too fast!”

The other end of the radio was silent for a moment: ”Mike, you know that without a registration number, finding them on the vast sea is extremely difficult...”

At this moment, Lin Yu’an, who had been leaning against the cabin wall catching his breath, spoke up: ”We have evidence.”

Mike and Riven looked at him in surprise.

Lin Yu’an glanced at Riven, who instantly understood. She rushed to the radio, taking the microphone from Mike’s hand.

”Uncle Tom, this is Riven! We have HD live video footage of the entire event! Multiple angles from the ship’s fixed cameras!”

”The video is in 4K quality, clearly capturing all external features, customization details of the offending vessel, and even the people on their deck!”

”Their reckless actions and the direct harm to us are all indisputably recorded! We can send video clips and raw data to your specified email!”

This kind of timestamped HD multi-angle live footage is more powerful than any witness testimony.

Upon receiving such a report, especially with such clear video evidence, the United States Coast Guard will certainly file a case and initiate an investigation!

The voice on the other end of the radio immediately turned respectful again, even sounding somewhat excited: ”Received, Riven! Excellent! Please send the video evidence to the responding officers shortly.”

”We will immediately notify all nearby patrol units of the offending vessel’s characteristics and initiate a comprehensive tracking based on your video!”

”Please remain on standby and keep the channel clear, our ship is on the way!”

”Received!” Riven responded briskly.
