King of the Wilderness

Chapter 718: Chapter 338: Adopting New Hunting Dogs! (Part 2)

”Humanitarian treatment” — the meaning is self-evident.

Lin Yu’an looked again at the three dogs in the cage; they might have once aided evil, but were they not also victims themselves?

They merely faithfully followed their master’s orders, using their instinct to earn food and recognition, yet ultimately paying the price of their lives for human greed.

The black-backed Kunming Dog seemed to understand something. It slowly stood up, walked to the front of the cage, and gently sniffed Lin Yu’an’s scent through the cold iron mesh.

Its eyes held no hostility, only the most primitive yearning for life from an animal.

Lin Yu’an was silent for a long time, then suddenly turned his head and spoke to Officer Li with an extremely serious tone: ”Officer Li, what conditions do I need to meet to adopt them.”

The request left everyone present stunned.

”What?” Liang Wenbin was the first to react, frowned, and said, ”Yu’an, have you thought it through? These are dogs raised by that gang of outlaws, wild and difficult to tame, they are dangerous weapons!”

Lin Yu’an nodded, still gazing at the Kunming Dog.

”I know. But in my view, they are not weapons, just tools used in the wrong place. The dogs themselves are innocent; it’s those who exploit them that are wrong.”

Officer Li looked at Lin Yu’an’s indisputable gaze and then at Liang Wenbin, who did not further oppose.

He didn’t immediately agree nor refuse, and the expression on his serious face became more rigorous, as if reviewing an important case file.

”Mr. Lin,” he began slowly, his voice soft but each word weighed with the gravitas of the law, ”I deeply admire your kindness personally.”

”However, adopting them is not a simple matter. These are not ordinary stray dogs but highly aggressive dogs involved in a case.”

”According to regulations, adopters must meet several extremely stringent conditions.”

He extended his finger, listing them one by one:

”The adopter must undergo the strictest background checks to ensure no criminal record, and no direct or indirect interest connection with the case.”

”Must provide valid proof of possessing professional knowledge in taming aggressive dogs and animal behavior correction skills to ensure that the dogs won’t become another threat once in your hands.”

”Must own a safety-standard compliant breeding area, equipped with fences of sufficient height and strength to prevent any possibility of escape; ordinary residential areas are absolutely prohibited.”

”Lastly, the most important point.” Li Jian Country’s gaze became sharp, ”The adopter must sign a legally binding ’Unlimited Liability Guarantee Letter.’”

”Commit to assuming lifelong unlimited legal responsibility for all future actions of these dogs post-adoption.”

”Once they harm someone again or cause any damage, all consequences will be solely yours to bear.”

However, after listening, Lin Yu’an’s expression showed no change. He calmly replied one by one:

”My background can be checked at any time.”

”Regarding the venue and qualifications, I will personally fund and contact a professional dog training base with official qualifications and quarantine conditions. They will act as a third-party institution to receive and temporarily place these three dogs.”

This proposal made Officer Li’s eyes instantly light up! It perfectly solved the most challenging aspect of the process.

Lin Yu’an continued: ”During the case trial period, they will be fostered at the base, receiving initial behavior assessment and basic corrective training, and all costs will be borne by me.”

”This satisfies the requirements for safety supervision and provides the most precious time for their subsequent corrective training.”

”After the case concludes and formal adoption conditions are met, I will then bring them back to my farm in the United States.”

”As for that ’Unlimited Liability Guarantee Letter,’ I can sign it at any time. From the moment they leave the police custody, their entire future is my sole responsibility.”

What Lin Yu’an provided was not a simple answer but a complete, step-by-step plan with funding, technology, and compliance with legal procedures.

It demonstrated not only kindness but also a successful person’s ability to integrate resources and a thorough sense of social responsibility.

This resounding answer plunged everyone present into silence.

A slight smile appeared on Officer Li’s solemn face, seeing that Lin Yu’an was not only qualified to adopt but also solved all concerns for them as enforcers.

He slowly nodded, ”Xiaolin, your plan is very thorough and very professional. It almost meets all our procedural requirements.”

”I will treat your request as a special case, forming a written report, attached with your qualification proofs and the complete placement plan you proposed, to report to the higher authorities.”

”Although the final decision is not mine to make...” He paused, speaking word by word: ”I will support your application to the utmost in my capacity as the head of the special mission team.”

”Thank you, Officer Li. I will contact the related professional base and personnel within the next couple of days.”

He took one last look at the three dogs in the cage, as if making a promise to them.

Then, under Liang Wenbin’s urging, he turned and boarded the car heading to the hotel.

In the night, the black official car smoothly drove on the streets of Kunming City.

The neon lights outside the car window, like flowing rivers of light, illuminated Lin Yu’an’s face, which was etched with exhaustion.
