King of the Wilderness

Chapter 748: Chapter 346: Capsizing Risk, Coast Guard

”Dad, what is that?” Riven’s voice suddenly became a bit hesitant as she pointed to a giant sport fishing boat speeding in the distance.

The vessel was enormous, at least 80 feet long, with four powerful outboard motors kicking up massive white waves at the stern.

It was cutting across from their side stern at an astonishing speed of over 40 knots, with a trajectory full of provocation.

”Damn idiots!” Captain Mike cursed as soon as he glanced over, ”It’s those weekend crazy bastards again! They’ve had too much to drink!”

According to nautical rules, motorboats must give way to sailboats.

But this fishing boat blatantly ignored the rules, not slowing down at all and instead deliberately sounding the horn as if showing off and provoking.

”What is he trying to do?” Riven’s face also changed.

”He wants to cut across our bow and give us a rinse with his wake!” Mike immediately judged the other party’s intention, his face turning pale.

”This is the most dangerous and bastardly behavior at sea! Grab anything you can! Hold tight, Lin!”

Lin Yu’an instinctively reached out, grabbed Riven’s arm, and pulled her half a step behind him, while his other hand gripped the wheel tightly, trying to stabilize the boat.

There was a solid and powerful feeling from Riven’s arm that, amidst the panic, gave her an inexplicable sense of reassurance.

Before the words were out of his mouth, the giant fishing boat roared past them less than ten meters ahead like a runaway steel shark.

People on the boat were even whistling and giving them the finger, followed by a nearly two-meter-high V-shaped rogue wave crashing in like a small mountain!

”Hold tight!” Mike shouted.

The ”Wanderer,” a small sailboat like this, seemed as fragile as a leaf tossed into a washing machine in the face of this man-made rogue wave!

The hull was first lifted sharply to the wave crest, as if it were about to fly into the sky, then almost in free fall, slammed heavily into the trough! The enormous impact sent everything on the boat flying!

”Watch out!” Riven screamed, losing her balance and bumping into Lin Yu’an’s broad back.

And at that moment, an even more deadly mishap happened!

Due to the sudden impact, a stainless steel pin on the foot block of the main sail’s halyard emitted a teeth-gritting metallic snap.

With a ”boom,” it broke cleanly in two!

”Damn it!” Mike’s heart sank to rock bottom.

Without this crucial anchor point, the entire mainsail was like an unbridled wild horse, instantly losing all control!

And the thick metal boom, tightly connected with and holding open the sail, turned into a destructive loose arm.

Under the dual force of wind and waves, it dragged the huge sail fabric, insanely sweeping back and forth with an entirely unpredictable trajectory!

”Get down! Everyone get down!” Captain Mike shouted.

All the live broadcast viewers felt like their hearts were being clenched by an invisible giant hand!

The camera shook violently, capturing the image of that boom swinging like Death God’s scythe, madly dancing on the deck!

[Holy shit! Holy shit! Something happened!]

[This is murder! That speedboat did it on purpose! Call the police! Quick, call the police!]

[God Lin! Teacher Riven! Get down!]

Mike and Riven were already lying on the deck, but Lin Yu’an wasn’t.

He was at the wheel, with the fragile instruments behind him and Riven, who had just collided with his back, leaving him nowhere to retreat!

Just as the boom, with a thunderous force, swept toward him again from a bizarre angle, Lin Yu’an exhibited combat instincts beyond ordinary people.

Almost simultaneously as the boom swept in, his body reacted like a triggered spring.

His core strength erupted instantly, and he crouched at an unbelievably low posture, his body nearly hugging the deck.

Subsequently, using his left shoulder as a pivot, he executed a supremely fluid tactical roll, the movement clean and efficient, with not a single excess.

”Bang!!”

The boom swept over, barely grazing the afterimage of his roll, crashing heavily into the cables on the other side with a thunderous metallic crash! The entire boat shuddered.

Lin Yu’an, following through, was already on one knee on the other side of the boat, stabilizing himself, his gaze sharp as a knife, intently watching the still wildly swinging boom as if observing a rampaging beast.

Meanwhile, the entire live broadcast room fell into a deathly silence.

The rolling barrage disappeared as if everyone was frightened into forgetting to breathe by this heart-stopping scene.

A few seconds later, the barrage erupted like a volcanic explosion!

[!!!!!!!]

[Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit, holy shit! That scared the life out of me! What just happened?! Replay! I need a replay!]

[That reaction... is that a human reaction?! Was it anticipation or instinct?! What was that roll? A special forces soldier?!]

[So damn cool! That roll! I thought I was watching an action movie!]

[Why do you all have such good eyesight? The camera shaking gave me a headache!]

On the boat, Riven lay on the deck, raising her head, still in shock, just in time to witness Lin Yu’an’s textbook-like evasive maneuver.

Her blue eyes showed a mix of shock and disbelief.

”The mainsail’s out of control! Riven, protect yourself! I’m going for the spare rope! We need to secure the boom somehow!”
