King of the Wilderness

Chapter 715: Chapter 337: Cooperating with the Public Security Investigation

”According to regulations, as a key civilian collaborator in this operation, you need to come back to the station with us and record a detailed account of the entire process. We hope you can understand and cooperate.”

”I understand, it’s necessary.” Lin Yu’an nodded.

”Additionally,” Zhang Wei’s gaze fell upon Lin Yu’an’s professional camera equipment, his tone politely yet undeniably firm.

”We need to temporarily seize all your filming equipment for a comprehensive technical review and confidentiality handling. We hope you can understand and cooperate.”

”I understand, it’s necessary, and I will fully cooperate.” Lin Yu’an was acutely aware that for a military operation review, cooperation is a mandatory red line.

Just then, Yang Zhen, who had already removed his tactical helmet, approached. He first nodded to Zhang Wei, then turned to Lin Yu’an and spoke in a tone that was apologetic yet resolute:

”Teacher Lin, there’s something I must explain to you.”

He glanced at the busy soldiers around them, lowering his voice.

”I know these video materials are very valuable to you, but they contain footage of our squad’s actions.”

”Including the appearances, voices, tactical maneuvers, equipment details of the team members, and even our unit numbers — all of it will ultimately be completely deleted.”

He paused, his gaze becoming intensely solemn: ”This is not only to protect them but also to protect you.”

”Let me tell you a real case,” Yang Zhen’s voice carried a trace of sadness.

”Many years ago, our brother unit collaborated with a common civilian on the southwestern border to capture a group of drug dealers.”

”After the operation, that civilian was remembered by the drug dealers who had been concealing themselves.”

”As a result... a month later, the family of that civilian suffered cruel retaliation.”

Yang Zhen earnestly said: ”Therefore, Teacher Lin,” I hope you understand and adhere strictly to the highest confidentiality protocols in handling any memories related to you and us.”

”This isn’t about not trusting you, but it’s an iron rule learned through bloodshed.”

Lin Yu’an was deeply moved, nodded solemnly, and said: ”Captain Yang, rest assured, I completely understand. Actually, I have an idea.”

He looked at Li Jian Country and Yang Zhen, proposing a bold suggestion.

”I volunteer to hand over all these video materials. You can conduct the most thorough review. Once all sensitive information is processed, I’ll reclaim my portion of it.”

”But I hope,” the unprecedented light shone in his eyes, ”not to have them all destroyed.”

”I hope, after obtaining approval from the public security and armed police higher-ups, to turn these images into an anti-poaching public service documentary.”

”Why?” Li Jian Country asked curiously.

”Because of deterrence!” Lin Yu’an answered, ”We don’t need to film the soldiers’ faces, but we can show their figures descending from the sky.”

”We can capture their professional silent maneuvers through the jungle! We don’t need to display the weapon models, but we can show the decisiveness of bullets piercing the criminals’ hands.”

”We can demonstrate the astonishing power of the ’Swarmer’ drone! And how infrared drones can see clearly even in dense fog!”

”By showing them the most direct visuals, we tell them not to harbor illusions! In the face of modern technology and national machinery, your pathetic jungle experience is utterly meaningless!”

”No matter where you hide, the nation can find you! This crushing deterrence brought by technology is far more powerful than any preaching!”

These words plunged Yang Zhen and Li Jian Country into deep contemplation. They instantly understood the profound significance behind Lin Yu’an’s suggestion.

Li Jian Country mulled it over for a while before giving a solemn nod: ”Mr. Lin, your idea... is of a high realm. Personally, I fully support it.”

He shifted his tone seriously: ”However, this decision exceeds my jurisdiction.”

”It requires joint approval from the city bureau, provincial department, and even leadership from the armed police side.”

”I can only promise to forward your suggestion, intact, as an official report. But whether it will be approved, I cannot promise you anything.”

”That’s enough.” Lin Yu’an smiled, ”I believe in our country.”

The time to say farewell had arrived; a mountain breeze swept through the mine area, carrying a hint of the night’s chill, dispersing the earlier tense conflict’s gunpowder scent.

Xiaowang and several other soldiers who had unarmed themselves gathered around, their faces no longer cold with killing intent, but filled with youthful enthusiasm.

”Teacher Lin, I must say you are truly impressive! Your tracking skills are even better than some reconnaissance soldiers!”

”Yes, Teacher Lin, if you have the chance in the future, please release more videos and teach us some outdoor survival knowledge.”

The soldiers offered their admiration and gratitude with sincere camaraderie in their words.

Having gone through the test of life and death together, they now regarded this civilian expert as a trustworthy partner.

Lin Yu’an smiled and responded to them one by one, the atmosphere relaxed and warm.

Finally, Yang Zhen walked over. He removed his heavy tactical helmet, revealing a resolute face stained with sweat and smoke.

His hawk-like sharp eyes now softened a bit. He extended his hand to Lin Yu’an, and shook it firmly.
