King of the Wilderness

Chapter 704: Chapter 334: Poaching Gang, Double the Crime!

He used a stick to pull those scalding packages out of the charcoal ash.

As he opened the layers of leaves, a burst of aroma mixed with the fresh sweetness of bamboo shoots and the unique fragrance of banana stem suddenly wafted out!

”Here, have a taste!” Lin Yu’an proudly distributed the baked parcels to each soldier.

”Eat!” Yang Zhen ordered.

The soldiers no longer hesitated, taking them eagerly and eating heartily. That long-missing hot meal, that natural freshness, instantly conquered their taste buds.

”Mm... delicious!” Xiaowang murmured with his mouth full, his face brimming with happiness.

Yang Zhen tore off a piece of bamboo shoot, chewed it thoroughly, then solemnly nodded, ”Teacher Lin’s cooking is indeed very good.”

After everyone finished eating, their weary bodies seemed to be infused with a warm current.

Yang Zhen looked at the satisfied soldiers, then at Lin Yu’an, and suddenly smiled.

”Teacher Lin, thank you for the hospitality,” he said sincerely, ”but... actually, we really did bring our meals.”

”But indeed, we also wanted to try the champion’s cooking. Now it’s your turn to taste the flavor of our new generation military supplies.”

Saying this, he gave Xiaowang a knowing look again.

In the midst of Lin Yu’an’s puzzled gaze, Xiaowang and a few other soldiers chuckled and mysteriously took out several flat, army-green vacuum-sealed bags from the bottom of their tactical backpacks.

They skillfully tore open the outer packaging along the tear line, revealing a variety of items inside.

A pack of carrot chicken fried rice as the main dish, a pack of spicy cabbage as a side dish, a small bag of crushed peanut spicy sauce, and even a baked energy bar and a refreshing electrolyte effervescent tablet.

Without tearing open the food packaging, they simply placed the sealed soft pack of carrot chicken fried rice, along with the white heating pack, into a transparent heating water bag.

Then they poured in water over the heating pack, with a clear filling line marked on the bag.

Almost instantly as the water touched the heating pack, a ”hissing” chemical reaction sound came from inside the bag.

Xiaowang quickly folded and clipped the bag opening shut, propping it at an angle against a rock.

In less than ten seconds, the whole heating bag inflated like a balloon, with waves of scorching white steam continuously spewing out from the bag’s pressure release hole, creating an impressive spectacle.

”This is our 20-type individual self-heating food,” Xiaowang introduced to Lin Yu’an, as if presenting a treasure, ”No need for fire, ten minutes and the meal is hot enough to burn your mouth! Much better than compressed biscuits!”

Under Lin Yu’an’s somewhat astonished gaze, the heating was completed in just over ten minutes. Xiaowang carefully opened the scalding hot bag and took out the fried rice pack.

He swiftly tore open the packaging, a burst of heat mixed with the savory aroma of chicken and the fresh sweetness of carrots wafted out, instantly dispelling the damp cold air around.

He poured the golden fried rice onto the tray unfolded from the packaging bag, tore open the crushed peanut spicy sauce pack, sprinkled it evenly over, finally pairing it with the crispy spicy cabbage, completing a nutritious field meal.

Another soldier beside him tossed the effervescent tablet into a military water bottle, with a soft ”poof” sound, the previously still water surface immediately frothing with countless bubbles, quickly turning into a flask of energy-restoring electrolyte drink.

Xiaowang solemnly handed over a pack of beef carrot fried rice emitting a rich saucy aroma, along with a matching pair of foldable spoons, to Lin Yu’an.

What truly shocked Lin Yu’an was the flavor! It was an extremely rich Sichuan taste mixed with the aroma of bean paste, Sichuan pepper, and beef!

”Teacher Lin, you must try ours too! This is our most popular flavor!”

Lin Yu’an did not refuse. He took it and looked at the bowl filled with glistening rice, tender beef, and even a few carrot pieces as garnish, falling into complete silence.

In his memory, soldiers always ate compressed biscuits or jerky, even enduring the hardship of alternating bites of fried noodles and snow.

Now he realized, his homeland had become powerful enough, meticulous enough, to allow every soldier in such extrema to have a bite of delicious hot meal.

It was not just a meal; it was a testament to national strength, technological progress, and utmost care for every frontline soldier.

A complex, searing emotion quickly surged in his heart. Without any more polite words, he took big bites of the rice and beef.

The familiar, warm taste with a hint of spice exploded on his taste buds.

He looked up at Yang Zhen, at all the young soldiers, and solemnly said just one sentence: ”Thank you... thank you for the country’s growing strength.”

This sentence, brought an instant quietness to what had been a somewhat rowdy meal. The soldiers from Lin Yu’an’s complex gaze understood everything.

The young soldier named Xiaowang, taking a couple of scoops of rice, looking at this momentarily sentimental man in front of him, couldn’t hold back his curiosity and asked.

”Teacher Lin, I’ve watched your video! The one ’Alone in the Wilderness’! How did you manage to endure for so long alone in such icy and snowy places abroad?”

This question instantly ignited the curiosity of all the young soldiers. Their steel guns could handle the fiercest enemies. Rigorous training could push them beyond physical limits.

But towards the wilderness filled with unknown dangers, they also carried the common curiosity and awe of ordinary people.
