Super Rich by Doing as You Please

”Alright.”

After hanging up, Jian Shiwai soon received a WeChat message from Xu Yun.

She opened it, checked the address, and took a deep breath. She then left her office and started driving toward Xu Yun’s home.

For the sake of her career and her future, she chose to brave the man.

No pain, no gain.

Xu Yun wasn’t a bad choice, really. Whether it was his looks, his build, or his capabilities, he was outstanding in every way.

The only regret was that she could only be his Tea Artist—merely an instructor of certain arts—and never his official partner.

’It’s fine. I’ll just treat it as a romance that won’t end in marriage.’

She comforted herself with these thoughts as she drove, mentally preparing herself to accept the situation.

Half an hour later, she arrived at the underground garage of Jiangcheng Heaven and Earth, Phase 3.

Before getting out of the car, she touched up her lipstick in the rearview mirror and straightened her bangs, trying to present herself to Xu Yun in the best possible light.

She couldn’t use the elevator without a key card.

Fortunately, there was a video intercom on the wall.

After Xu Yun buzzed her in, she smoothly rode the elevator to the top floor.

It was a private elevator that opened directly into the unit, so as soon as the doors slid open, she saw Xu Yun standing there waiting for her.

”President Xu.”

”Come on in, I’ve been waiting for you.” Xu Yun smiled, then turned and walked toward the tea room.

Jian Shiwai followed behind him, her heart filled with nothing but envy as she took in the magnificent apartment.

As Xu Yun’s private financial manager, she knew exactly how much this property had cost him.

This was a home that most people couldn’t afford even if they worked for several lifetimes.

Xu Yun’s tea room, which also served as his study, had a river view on three sides, offering a stunning view of the city at night.

In fact, practically any place in the apartment with a window or a glass wall offered an unobstructed view of the river.

A piece of calligraphy hung on the wall, bearing the words ”Elegant Room, Fragrant Tea.”

Xu Yun casually sat down and said with a smile, ”Manager Jian, sorry to make you come all the way out here so late. The thing is, I’m hopeless at brewing tea, so I had to trouble you.”

”It’s no trouble.”

Jian Shiwai had come prepared to give herself to him. Had he really just asked her here to brew tea?

She stared at the tea table and the tea set, completely dumbfounded.

’Maybe this is just foreplay?’

’Right. No one just gets straight to it!’

’You have to cultivate some feelings first, build the mood, create an atmosphere. It’s more fun to ease into it slowly.’

Seeing her spacing out again, Xu Yun chuckled. ”Manager Jian, have a seat. Don’t be a stranger. Tonight, this whole tea setup is yours to command.”

”Oh, alright.” Jian Shiwai gave a small smile and sat down in the host’s seat at the tea table.

She knew how to brew tea, and she knew tea sets.

So she could tell at a glance just how valuable the set in front of her was.

If she wasn’t mistaken, this was a set from the ”Spring Breeze Auspicious Jade” series, made by Jingdezhen’s number one tea-ware kiln.

This was the Patek Philippe of the porcelain world—a top-tier luxury brand.

Every single one of its teacups was expensive, with prices ranging from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands, and even millions.

And this particular set, judging by the pattern, appeared to be Qingfeng Xiangyu’s ”Cyan and Red Porcelain Hand-Pressed Cup.” A single cup was worth over 200,000, and there were three of them here.

Including the fairness pitcher and the tea table, Jian Shiwai estimated the total value to be around one million.

With a tea set like this, any tea worth less than tens of thousands a pound wouldn’t even be worthy of being served in it.

Since she was here to brew tea, it was time to get down to business.

Xu Yun seemed to have boiled the water before she arrived. The tea leaves were also ready, set aside in a small vessel.

There just wasn’t very much of it.

She picked up the tea leaves to examine them. Unable to identify them at first glance, she asked curiously, ”President Xu, what kind of tea is this? It looks to be of excellent quality.”

”It’s a premium Wuyi Mountain Da Hong Pao I just bought. I heard it’s a collector’s item from the original mother trees.”

Xu Yun smiled and replied casually, ”It’s precisely because it’s so good, and so hard to get, that I called you over to help. I’d hate to waste it.”

”Da Hong Pao from the mother trees?”

Jian Shiwai was utterly shocked.

There are three types of Da Hong Pao on the market: those from the mother trees, regular Da Hong Pao, and commercially grown Da Hong Pao from related cultivars.

Although they all shared the name ”Da Hong Pao,” the tea from the mother trees was in a completely different league compared to the others.

She couldn’t help but take another, more careful look.

She saw that the twisted leaves were remarkably uniform—not too thick, not too thin. They were tightly rolled and compact. Even with slight curves, their size and thickness were incredibly consistent overall.

Then, she smelled it and detected a distinct charcoal aroma.

This was because Da Hong Pao is a type of rock tea, which requires roasting.

She suddenly recalled a trending news story from today. At an auction, a mysterious young man named Xu Xing had bought 100 grams of premium Da Hong Pao for the astronomical price of 18 million.

’Could it be...?’

Jian Shiwai looked at Xu Yun and asked tentatively, ”The news today mentioned someone at the Rongcheng auction who spent 18 million on tea... That wouldn’t be you, would it, President Xu?”

”Yes, that sucker was me.”

Xu Yun nodded in admission. ”I just wanted to see what this top-tier tea tasted like. You’d better not laugh at me.”

Jian Shiwai’s brain simply short-circuited.

’Laugh at him? How could she dare laugh at him!’

’This President Xu really spent money like it was water, doing exactly as he pleased.’

’Even though this kind of top-tier tea was rare and excellent, spending 18 million on 100 grams was just outrageous.’
