Super Rich by Doing as You Please

The news spread like wildfire, thanks to the clickbait headlines from online media outlets.

First, the appearance of Da Hong Pao from the original mother trees at an auction stunned everyone.

Then, the fact that a mere 100 grams of this Da Hong Pao had fetched the astronomical price of 18 million left the public in shock.

Finally, according to inside sources, the buyer was none other than a man in his early twenties with the surname Xu.

Perceptive bloggers, eager to drive traffic, immediately connected this to the recent incident involving a private jet from Eastern Airlines.

The mysterious passenger on that flight was also a young man, and his surname was also Xu.

Crucially, that flight had been headed to Rongcheng.

And this auction was also held in Rongcheng.

It was too much of a coincidence!

When you looked at it that way, everything lined up perfectly—from his age and surname to the location.

The two incidents had to involve the same person.

During a press conference in Rongcheng the following afternoon, a certain actress received a call from her boss. At his instruction, she unexpectedly brought the topic up during an interview, mentioning that she had also been at the scene and had even seen the man in question.

She didn’t dare reveal too much, only commenting vaguely that he was very young and handsome.

Thanks to the boost from the celebrity’s influence, Xu Yun was soon trending online again.

He grew even more mysterious in the eyes of netizens, who playfully dubbed him ”Young Master Xu!”

Some tycoons who heard the news, being very interested in tea, were also eager to discover the identity of this Young Master Xu and purchase some of the tea from him.

After all, this stuff was more precious than gold or diamonds—an incredibly rare find that couldn’t be sought out, only chanced upon.

They all started pulling strings, trying to inquire with President Zhang, the organizer of the charity auction.

President Zhang had also seen the news about Xu Yun.

While at home, he fielded one call after another from various business partners and friends, telling each one that he didn’t know, wasn’t clear, and that Xu Yun had been brought by another guest.

He didn’t reveal a single thing about Xu Yun.

He certainly didn’t reveal that Xu Yun was the one who had provided the Da Hong Pao for the auction in the first place, or he would truly be making enemies for the young man everywhere.

At the hospital, Jiang Peiyao also saw the news while scrolling on her phone.

The moment she saw ”a young man with the surname Xu” and read one of the blogger’s analyses, her first thought was of Xu Yun.

But then she remembered he had already left Rongcheng that night, so she dismissed the idea.

’It must be a coincidence.’

’Otherwise, if he were still in Rongcheng, there’s no way he wouldn’t have come to see me.’

She told herself silently.

’Xu Yun is from Jiangcheng. Besides me, he probably doesn’t know any other women here.’

Seeing his sister staring blankly at her phone, Jiang Ping’an asked quizzically, ”Sister, are you thinking about Brother Xu?”

”Yeah, a little.”

Jiang Peiyao snapped out of her daze and smiled at him. ”Ping’an, let’s focus on getting better so we can go back and find him together, okay?”

”Okay! I’ll be good and take my medicine on time and go to all my check-ups.”

Jiang Ping’an said happily, ”I like Brother Xu the most! I want him to take me to ride the bumper cars.”

”He will. I’m sure he will.”

Jiang Peiyao stroked her brother’s head and murmured, ”You and I are both so lucky to have met him.”

.....

Back in Jiangcheng, the man at the center of the trending topic, Xu Yun, landed safely at the airport after a two-hour flight.

He got into his Bentley and headed for his new home.

Tonight, he didn’t feel like seeing any of the women in his life.

Everyone needs some time to themselves now and then, and Xu Yun was no exception.

All he wanted tonight was to brew a cup of the premium Da Hong Pao he had just acquired, sit before the massive floor-to-ceiling windows of his penthouse at Jiangcheng Heaven and Earth, and quietly feel the river breeze as he gazed out at the water.

And contemplate his future.

’Ever since he’d come into money, he’d just been going with the flow. The number of women in his life had grown, too.’

’But he was starting to feel a little bored with it all.’

’It was time to think about chasing poetry and distant horizons.’

’To go to new places, see new sights, and meet new people.’
