「Inside the branch office of the Construction Bank in Jiangcheng.」

Because Xu Yun had been left behind by his flight, Jian Shiwai had been pressuring Eastern Airlines for a resolution.

But they kept dragging their feet, and no resolution was forthcoming.

This was typical of Eastern Airlines.

Previously, the bank had other clients who were dissatisfied with the airline’s service. But since they were just regular clients, the bank could handle the issue themselves by offering some form of compensation.

But this time, the dissatisfied party was a high-end private banking client—one of their most valuable assets.

He was someone they absolutely could not afford to offend.

Although Xu Yun hadn’t explicitly expressed his dissatisfaction with the bank, nor had he made any demands for compensation or resolution.

But chartering a private jet out of anger was, without a doubt, the strongest possible expression of his displeasure.

That’s why she was determined to get a sincere resolution from the airline on her client’s behalf.

This way, she would have something to report the next time she saw Xu Yun, and it would also demonstrate her commitment to him.

’I will protect my VIP!’

Today was the deadline she had given Eastern Airlines. Seeing as she still hadn’t received a satisfactory response, Jian Shiwai decided to report the matter directly to the bank president the next day.

The president could then report it to headquarters, applying even more pressure on the airline.

Eastern Airlines’s dismissive handling of the incident had already become a hot topic on social media. It was widely criticized by netizens and had struck a chord with other passengers, who were now venting their own frustrations.

These critics included some of Construction Bank’s own high-end credit card holders.

Their public image was taking a serious hit.

’Maybe I can actually use this to get the higher-ups to consider switching airline partners.’

At the last corporate meeting in Jiangcheng, another bank president had already pointed out that Sichuan Airlines had excellent service and recommended making the switch.

The higher-ups might ignore a suggestion from a single branch, but if two branch presidents said the same thing, it would warrant a serious discussion.

Just as she was gathering her materials, ready to fan the flames and escalate the situation, she suddenly received a call from Eastern Airlines.

It was someone new—a man. He wasn’t just a customer service supervisor, but a client manager, one of Eastern Airlines’s senior executives.

The man introduced himself as Hu Yong, the person in charge of handling the incident.

Ordinarily, Jian Shiwai would never have contact with someone at his level; the highest she usually dealt with was a supervisor.

But today, a senior executive was calling her personally. It was genuinely surprising.

Jian Shiwai paused for a moment before asking, ”Hello, President Hu. Is there a reason for your call?”

”Yes.”

Hu Yong said over the phone, ”Your bank has been pressing us for a resolution to this incident, correct?

”Well, we have one now. I’m calling you personally to inform you of the outcome.”

”What is the outcome?” Jian Shiwai asked.

”On behalf of Eastern Airlines, I would like to express our sincerest apologies for the unpleasant travel experience your private banking client endured. We will work to improve our training to ensure this never happens again.”

Hu Yong said, ”Regarding the incident itself, after a thorough investigation and discussion, we have decided to terminate the employment of the manager in charge at Yudu International Airport.

”Tomorrow, we will publicly announce this decision and the outcome via our social media channels and official accounts.

”Furthermore, our airline will be granting Mr. Xu Yun permanent Platinum status, which includes top-tier benefits like complimentary upgrades, priority ticketing, and more.

”We hope you can convey this to Mr. Xu Yun for us and help us obtain his forgiveness.”

”Alright, I understand, President Hu. I will relay the message for you.”

After hanging up, Jian Shiwai fell silent for a moment.

She was completely taken aback by Eastern Airlines’s resolution.

Setting aside the membership perks, they had actually fired a mid-level manager!

Honestly, this resolution showed a surprising amount of ”sincerity”—a complete departure from Eastern Airlines’s usual style.

But regardless, she was satisfied with the outcome.

At the very least, she now had something to report to Xu Yun—even though he had never asked her for an update.

Just as she was happily getting ready to leave work, her phone rang.

It was Xu Yun.

Jian Shiwai answered with a smile. ”President Xu.”

”Are you off work yet?” In his penthouse at Jiangcheng Heaven and Earth, Xu Yun sat staring at the tea leaves before him, feeling a bit lost.

He had absolutely no idea how to brew tea.

If it were ordinary tea, he would have just boiled some water and steeped it without a second thought. But this was different. This was premium Da Hong Pao.

It wasn’t that he was reluctant to use it, but he had gone to great lengths to acquire it. It shouldn’t be wasted by his own clumsy attempts, which would fail to bring out its proper flavor.

So, the first person who came to mind was Jian Shiwai.

She knew how to brew tea properly. She could make the most of it, and he could learn from her so he could do it himself in the future.

”I was just about to leave.”

Jian Shiwai asked with a smile, ”I heard you went to Rongcheng, President Xu. Did you have a good time?”

”It was alright. I’m back now, though.”

Xu Yun said, ”If you’re free after work, could you come over to my place for a bit?”

”May I ask what it’s about, President Xu?”

”It’s nothing in particular. I was hoping you could teach me how to brew tea.”

”...” Jian Shiwai’s expression flickered. For a moment, she didn’t know how to respond.

’She wasn’t mentally prepared for this.’

When Jian Shiwai didn’t reply, Xu Yun added considerately, ”Of course, if you’re busy, don’t worry about it.”

”No, no, President Xu, it’s not that! I’m single, what plans could I possibly have?”

Jian Shiwai said, ”Actually, it’s perfect timing. I have something to report to you as well. Just send me the address on WeChat, and I’ll drive over right away.”
