Super Rich by Doing as You Please

After lunch, Xu Yun accompanied Song Xiaowei to the mall, where they went shopping and bought several new outfits.

They also bought a set of skincare products. Everything was from luxury brands, costing over a hundred thousand yuan in total.

This was, of course, expensive for Song Xiaowei, but for Xu Yun, it felt like spending a dozen bucks—he didn’t feel a thing.

After they were done shopping, Xu Yun drove her back to school and then headed to the bank.

He had called Jian Shiwai before he went.

So, the moment he arrived at the bank, not only was Jian Shiwai waiting at the entrance, but the bank’s vice governor was there as well.

”President Xu, hello. It’s wonderful to see you again.” The moment they met, Governor Gao enthusiastically took the initiative to shake Xu Yun’s hand.

Xu Yun’s status at their bank was now of the highest level.

It was only because the chief governor wasn’t present; otherwise, he would have been at the door to welcome him as well.

After all, anyone would be shocked to see a man who just spent over forty million on a house suddenly have another eighty million deposited into his account.

Other people’s personal accounts dwindled the more they were used, but Xu Yun’s account was the exact opposite.

The more he spent, the more money he had!

At the rate he was spending, his personal account would break the one-hundred-million mark in a matter of days.

The bank had, of course, thoroughly investigated this phenomenon, fearing the source of Xu Yun’s money was illegitimate.

But no matter how they looked into it, the money was squeaky clean. There were no issues at all.

It was as if some overseas financial institution was bankrolling him.

The more extravagantly he spent, the larger the sums they transferred.

Excluding the current balance, the transaction volume alone had long surpassed one hundred million.

”Governor Gao, long time no see.”

Xu Yun smiled. ”I’m just here to see Manager Jian about a small matter. You didn’t have to make such a fuss.”

”Of course, we had to.”

Governor Gao shook his head. ”President Xu, you’re one of our bank’s most honored guests. We can’t afford to be neglectful. It’s only right.

Come, let’s go up to my office. We shouldn’t just stand here. We can chat over some tea.”

”Very well, then.” The three of them, along with a few other managers, escorted Xu Yun upstairs.

Seeing the procession, the other staff in the main lobby thought some high-ranking leader had come for an inspection.

Once upstairs, Governor Gao said to Jian Shiwai, ”Go get the new West Lake Dragon Well tea we just got in this year and brew a cup for President Xu.”

”I’m no tea connoisseur, Governor Gao. You shouldn’t waste it on me.”

”It doesn’t matter if you don’t know how. Drink enough of it, and you’ll learn naturally.”

Governor Gao laughed. ”This year’s West Lake Dragon Well is truly exceptional. It’s very hard to find on the market. You simply must try it.”

”Alright, then I’ll give it a try.”

A moment later, Jian Shiwai returned with the tea leaves and an exquisite tea set.

She then began to boil the water and prepare the tea.

First, she scalded the lidded bowl with boiling water, warming and cleansing the ware to raise its temperature. Then, she placed the leaves inside and poured in just enough hot water to rinse them, allowing the leaves to unfurl and release their fragrance.

This was followed by waking the tea, the main infusion, and finally, serving it.

And just like that, three cups of tea were ready.

Her movements were fluid and graceful, a pleasure to watch. It seemed she was no less skilled than the female tea master at the private club Yan Can had taken him to.

The only difference was that the other woman had worn see-through gauze, her body faintly visible, whereas Jian Shiwai was in her bank uniform.

’I have to say, the competition is fierce these days!’

’Besides excelling at your profession, you also have to master one or two other skills.’

Xu Yun couldn’t help but praise her, ”I never would have guessed Manager Jian was so skilled at making tea.”

”You flatter me, President Xu.”

Jian Shiwai replied humbly, ”I just picked it up in my spare time. I only hope the tea is to your liking.”

”How could I possibly?”

Xu Yun lifted his cup and took a sip. ”It’s perfect. This is the real thing.”

’The flavor was quite similar to what he’d had at the club last time.’

’Looks like they were both the genuine article.’

’He still had some of that same tea at home, a gift from Yan Can. He just didn’t drink tea much, so it was just sitting there.’

”I’m glad you like it, President Xu.”

Governor Gao then said to Jian Shiwai, ”You’re President Xu’s main point of contact. You should take the initiative to invite him out for tea sometime.”

”Of course, Governor Gao. That was my oversight.”

Jian Shiwai said apologetically, ”I was mostly worried that President Xu was too busy. I didn’t want to bother him.”

”I’m practically a man of leisure with plenty of free time. Manager Jian, you’re welcome to invite me for tea anytime.”

Xu Yun added playfully, ”This whole tea ceremony of yours is quite impressive. You should teach me sometime.”

”Absolutely. As long as you want to learn, President Xu, I guarantee I can teach you.”

”Those are your words.”

Xu Yun said, ”Governor Gao, you’re my witness. If I can’t learn, I’m holding you responsible.”

”No problem. If Manager Jian hasn’t taught President Xu by the end of the year, I’ll dock her year-end bonus.”

”Oh, you can’t do that. I’m a slow learner. If I fail to learn and you actually dock her bonus, she’ll hate my guts.”

”You’re being too modest, President Xu. I’m sure you’ll pick it up in no time.”

”Alright, Governor Gao, I’ve enjoyed the tea, but let’s get down to business.”

Xu Yun said, ”I actually came today to discuss a private matter with Manager Jian.”

”Of course. As it happens, I have something to attend to myself.”

Governor Gao stood up tactfully. ”President Xu, please feel free to use my office to chat with Manager Jian over tea. I’ll leave you to it.”

”Thank you, Governor Gao.”

”Not at all, President Xu.”

Governor Gao gave Jian Shiwai a meaningful look and added, ”Whether it’s a personal or a professional matter for President Xu, you must do your utmost to handle it perfectly and satisfy all his requests. Do you understand?”

”Yes, Governor Gao.”
