The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Despise?

Song Zi thought to herself, it’s impossible to despise, never in this lifetime. She wished that this Prime Minister brother would manage.

Joking aside, anyone known by Song Zhiyuan is useful, even a small fry, let alone a famous teacher; it is naturally excellent.

If things were bad, could she even say she despised him? Unless her brain was squeezed by a door. Many people were eager but never had the opportunity to be cared for by Song Zhiyuan.

”Big brother is busy with official duties, yet he finds time to worry about those two mischievous boys of mine. It’s their blessing. At New Year, they must bow deeply to you, their oldest uncle.” Song Zi smiled gratefully.

Song Zhiyuan waved his hand and said: ”We are family, no need for formalities.”

Song Zi felt quite moved.

”Zhihui’s coming-of-age ceremony, when is it? Once she has it, does it mean she’s going to marry?” Song Ci asked curiously.

Song Zi quickly replied: ”To answer mother, she was born on the third day of the new year. Her coming-of-age is still during the New Year, so I planned to hold the family’s New Year banquet as well for some liveliness. As for the marriage, the Shen Family has sent some dates. Mainly, the elderly lady of the Shen Family wants to drink the daughter-in-law tea early. Her father and I thought to choose an auspicious day in June.”

Song Ci looked at Song Zhiyuan and said: ”So it seems, next year our family will be full of joyous events. After Su’er’s marriage, it will be Zhihui’s turn.”

Song Zhiyuan laughed: ”By then, things around you will surely get lively.”

”Indeed.”

Song Zi also laughed and said: ”Once Su’er gets married, I will return a couple of days earlier to stay and lend a hand.”

Song Zhiyuan nodded and said: ”You have been in the capital for only two or three years. Zhihui is getting married. If the dowry is somewhat lacking, let your sisters-in-law help manage it.”

”Thank you, big brother.” Song Zi chatted with them courteously for a few more sentences, then tactfully excused herself, intending to speak with the Madam.

After she left, Song Ci sighed.

”She and the third elder were twin siblings, yet their temperaments differ a lot.”

Song Zi was sophisticated and open-minded, while the third elder, well, better not mention him!

Song Zhiyuan lazily leaned against the Arhat bed, one hand resting on the large pillow, one foot comfortably propped up, his other hand sliding the prayer beads on his knee. Hearing this, he chuckled softly.

”Isn’t it all due to upbringing? Mother cherished Ah Zi, keeping her by her side, raising her to have this disposition. As for the third elder, he was spoiled by father and the former wet nurse, not to mention the Lu Family’s occasional meddling, distorting his mindset. It’s not surprising.” As Song Zhiyuan spoke of these past grievances, his brows and eyes carried a hint of coldness.

Song Ci was silent.

Seeing her say nothing, Song Zhiyuan thought she was reminiscing about the past and said: ”Mother, don’t dwell on it. You’re blameless towards this family and them. As for Aunt Lu, don’t concern yourself, it’s merely her short life, too young to bear the pain of childbirth, leading to her untimely death.”

Song Ci thought, it’s not guilt, but an effort to recall the true memory of your late mother.

However, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t remember, as if it was very vague.

Song Ci said: ”I haven’t thought about it much, because I can’t seem to remember.”

Song Zhiyuan’s breath caught. He looked at Song Ci, saw her eyes somewhat confused, and smiled: ”If you can’t remember, don’t think about it. It’ll spare you shallow sleep at night.”

Song Ci responded with a yes.

Just then, Dan Ge’er woke and came over to find Song Ci to play, abruptly breaking the mother and son’s conversation.
