The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

The consequence of the Crown Prince’s recklessness is that Song Zhiyuan has to clean up his mess, while strengthening security and having someone urgently drive into the palace. If it weren’t for the little Crown Prince almost crying and begging, he would have dragged him into the palace together.

”Your Highness, you shouldn’t be so reckless. If you want to come out, you can plead with the Emperor and the Empress, not sneak out.” Song Lingjie lectured with a dark face.

Fu Xiuyuan glanced over, thinking to himself, this Song Huaiyu is really bold, daring to say anything.

”Ever since I was made Crown Prince, my mother wishes she could keep me by her side. It’s so difficult to leave the palace.” The little Crown Prince said with grievance, ”I heard from Little Wan that your family was hosting a banquet, and I haven’t seen you for a long time. Didn’t I just want to join in the fun?”

Song Lingjie replied, ”Even so, you shouldn’t have snuck out. Now that you’ve achieved your goal, haven’t you thought about what punishment the people around you will face? And what about Cheng’er, will he be reprimanded?”

Wan Yicheng was almost in tears.

The little Crown Prince felt somewhat guilty.

”Even if he gets reprimanded, it won’t cost him his life, but what about the people serving you? Do you believe, when you return to the palace, the people around you will have already been replaced, never to be seen again?”

The Crown Prince sneaks out, and no one stops him and even aids him. How could the Empress tolerate them? If they let this go, wouldn’t they be encouraging the Crown Prince to do even bolder things next time?

Remember, this is the Crown Prince. Allowing him to do inadvisable things without stopping him, under the guise of affection, is harming him.

So it’s inevitable, the people serving the Crown Prince will surely be dealt with.

”Your Highness, you are the Crown Prince of the nation, the future Monarch, your every action concerns the wellbeing of the people. Being willful and reckless only drives people to catastrophe, to the point of no return.” Song Lingjie said coldly, ”Your willfulness will inevitably result in someone dying for you, even leading to the destruction of families.”

The little Crown Prince’s face finally changed: ”I, I...”

Song Lingsu and Fu Xiuyuan exchanged a glance, then said, ”Third Brother, please have His Highness sit down and rest in your room first.”

Seeing the little Crown Prince utterly terrified, Song Lingjie followed suit and said, ”Crown Prince, reflect well on my words, think twice before you act. Since you’re already here, stay properly and wait for someone from the palace to pick you up.”

The little Crown Prince breathed a sigh of relief, carefully tugged on his sleeve, and said, ”Brother Jie, don’t be angry anymore. I won’t do it again in the future. You passed the examination, and I’m happy for you, I wanted to congratulate you.”

Song Lingjie replied with slight annoyance, ”You just wanted to have fun.”

The little Crown Prince grinned and sighed, ”I know it’s wrong, but Mother has been restricting me too tightly lately, forbidding this and that, only allowing me to listen to the teachers. I just wanted to get some air, nothing more.”

”Your status is different now, naturally, Lady needs to be attentive. Don’t you want to be a wise ruler rather than a muddleheaded one in the future?”

The little Crown Prince nodded: ”But being Crown Prince isn’t as good as I imagined. My brothers, now when they see me, their smiles aren’t the same, and their words are full of sarcasm and mockery, it’s really uncomfortable.”

”Oh, just think of it as sour grapes from those who can’t have them, you’ll get used to it eventually.” Song Lingjie chuckled, not surprising that they’re resentful. The Crown Prince position fell to His Highness, how could they not be? They’re probably cursing him behind his back.

”Brother Jie is right.”

The two walked ahead, while on the side, Wan Yicheng hung his head, thinking that he needs to pretend to be ill and hide in Cining Palace to escape this calamity.

In the back, Fu Xiuyuan, with his hands behind his back, raised his eyebrows, looking at Song Lingsu: ”Is this how they normally interact?” Like brothers, indeed.

Song Lingsu smiled and said, ”Third Brother says the Crown Prince is still young and childish.”

Fu Xiuyuan rubbed his fingers, watching Song Lingjie’s back thoughtfully.
