The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Madam Fu, the eldest daughter-in-law of Grandmaster Fu, is the wife of Song Lingsu. In terms of seniority, Song Lingsu must respectfully call her sister-in-law. Now that the Song Family is hosting a banquet, Song Lingsu naturally must invite his mentor and his family.

And so, Madam Fu arrives with her daughter, appearing before everyone.

”No need for such formalities, your family’s elder must have arrived too, right?” Song Ci smiled as he waived her courtesy.

Madam Fu replied with a smile, ”Huaiyan personally welcomed us at the city gate, and now the elder is being accompanied by Huaiyan to speak with the Prime Minister.”

Madam Song also smiled and said, ”Mother, please be assured, Su’er will certainly entertain his mentor well.”

Only then did Song Ci nod, and she looked towards the girl behind Madam Fu.

Madam Fu took a step forward, pulling her daughter along to the front, and said with a smile, ”This is my younger daughter. Among the girls in our family, she’s the third. If the Grand Madam is willing to show favor, you can call her ’Third Sister’. Third Sister, quickly greet the Grand Madam.”

Fu Yunjin took a step forward, placing her hands at her waist, gracefully curtsying to Song Ci and greeting her, ”Third Sister pays respects to the Grand Madam, wishing the Grand Madam good health.”

Her voice was like a clear spring, elegant and gentle, her figure slender. Perhaps coming from a scholarly family, she exuded a heavy scholarly aura, without a hint of frivolity.

Not only Song Ci, but many of the ladies present also watched with clear and bright eyes, marveling at her decorum and gentleness, finding it delightful.

Madam Jiang’s eyes were also sparkling brightly.

Some people just naturally bring joy to others upon meeting.

Song Ci, smiling and narrowing her eyes, beckoned her, ”What a beautiful young girl, come closer so this old lady can have a good look?”

Fu Yunjin, with her eyes lowered slightly, walked forward, then looked up at Song Ci, her lips curling into a smile, her face showing a bit of shyness.

”Oh my, the young girls these days are truly incredible, each prettier than the last, like flower buds, bringing joy to the heart,” Song Ci said, holding her hand, giving it a pat, and asked, ”How old are you, and why have you never been to the capital before?”

Fu Yunjin said softly, ”Third Sister is fourteen, and has always been at our old home in Jinling, thus had not come to Shangjing.”

”No wonder, I was just saying how it’s impossible I haven’t seen such a beautiful young girl before,” Song Ci continued with a smile, ”What do you usually do at home? The Fu Family is a scholarly family, are you not also reading countless books?”

Fu Yunjin replied, ”As for books, I’ve read ’Precepts for Women’ and ’Internal Instructions’ and occasionally some geographical and cultural records, but mostly do some needlework with my sisters.”

”That’s good, for us ladies, it’s enough to read and understand principles, no need to study like preparing for the imperial examination,” Song Ci said as she conveniently slipped a gemstone bracelet from her hand onto hers, smiling kindly, ”Su’er is your grandfather’s student, so our relationship is different from others. However, I’m not much older than your grandfather, so we won’t stick to strict seniority, in my eyes, you’re like a grandchild. This old lady doesn’t have much to offer, this bracelet is something a few maids found for fun, wearing it myself would make others say I’m trying to look young, so I’ll give it to you as a meeting gift.”

Fu Yunjin glanced down, the bracelet was inlaid with red and blue gemstones, intricately crafted and appeared very precious. She couldn’t help but look towards her mother, and seeing her mother nod slightly, she blushed and gave thanks.

”Girls your age are playing in Ming Garden, Chun Fen, personally lead Miss Fu over, don’t let her be bumped into,” Song Ci instructed.

”Yes, Grand Madam,” Chun Fen replied.

Everyone understood well in their hearts, there was no doubt that a strong competitor had arrived.
