The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

”Your Highness, this bowl of bird’s nest soup is ready, please eat it while it’s hot.”

Wan Chun personally offered a bowl of bird’s nest soup, presenting it in front of the Princess Consort of Prince Min.

The Princess Consort of Prince Min, however, was looking out the window and said, ”Is the snow outside getting heavier?”

Wan Chun glanced out and said, ”It was sparse just now, but now it’s coming down thick.”

”Open the window, let me see.”

Wan Chun was about to speak when a cold, hard voice rejected her.

”No.”

The master and servant looked towards the source of the voice, it was Nanny Lei, one of the two nannies responsible for ’serving’ her, and they saw her pursing her lips, glaring coldly at the Princess Consort of Prince Min.

”It’s already cold, and it’s snowing outside, opening the window will let the cold in. If the Princess catches a chill, and can’t recover with medicine, you’d have to endure it, and the little master in your belly would suffer the cold too.”

Though the words made sense, the expression and tone made the master and servant’s faces look very unpleasant.

These two were supposedly sent by the Princess Consort Ji to serve the Princess Consort of Prince Min, but in reality, they were there to monitor and keep an eye on her, fearing that she’d act recklessly and harm the child in her belly, truly leaving the Prince Min with no heir.

So, ever since they arrived, the Princess Consort of Prince Min felt like she was in a prison, needing their scrutiny just to take a breath, not daring to exert herself.

Hearing these words now, they were nice words, but everyone has a rebellious streak, and the Princess Consort of Prince Min was no different.

”What if I insist on opening it?” The Princess Consort of Prince Min glared coldly at Nanny Lei.

Nanny Lei replied expressionlessly, ”Then this servant would have to report to the Dowager for a decision.”

”Stop using the Dowager to pressure me. I used to cooperate because I wanted to, out of filial piety, but if I don’t cooperate, I want to see who can stop me!” A hint of cold brutality flashed in the Princess Consort of Prince Min’s eyes: ”If I don’t wish it, even if you tie me up, I can still let this child suffocate in my belly. Dare you provoke me?”

Does a tiger not show its power, so you think it’s a milk cat?

Nanny Lei’s expression changed.

The Princess Consort of Prince Min touched her abdomen and said to Wan Chun, ”Go fetch an Imperial Physician and say that my stomach hurts from anger.”

Nanny Lei finally couldn’t maintain her cold-hard demeanor, softening her voice, ”Princess Consort, this servant is also considering your health and that of the little master. Think about it, if you catch a cold, wouldn’t mother and child suffer together?”

The Princess Consort of Prince Min gently rubbed her slightly bulging abdomen and indifferently warned, ”I know what I’m doing. Just do your duty as a servant and step back.”

Nanny Lei wanted to say more, but Nanny Chen beside her gently tugged at her sleeve, leaving them no choice but to retreat to the door side.

Seeing this, the Princess Consort of Prince Min said no more, glanced down at her abdomen, then back at the swirling snow outside the window, no longer requesting to open the window.

But amidst the snowflakes, there seemed to be a slender figure approaching.

She stared for a moment, watching the person come closer, looking through the window to see inside, standing in the snow.

The Princess Consort of Prince Min quickly asked Wan Chun to open the window and called out to them, ”Prince, please come inside quickly.”

Wan Chun also saw Chu Ze, her face changing several times, and she went to lift the curtain at the door, the cold immediately seeping in, causing everyone near the door to shiver.

Chu Ze entered and stood beside the charcoal brazier not far from the door, extending his hands to warm away the chill on him.

”Everyone, leave.”

Nanny Lei and Nanny Chen exchanged a glance and silently retreated; they dared not provoke this master.

The Princess Consort of Prince Min’s face flushed green; her words, compared to this person, held no deterrent power.

Before she could think more, Chu Ze’s voice came again: ”Xia Houzhe has committed suicide.”

Bang.
