The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

The young Crown Prince sneaked out of the palace, causing a commotion inside, until Song Zhiyuan reported to the palace, which allowed him more than an hour of playtime before he was escorted back by people sent by the Emperor and Empress.

The banquet at the Song Family also came to an end, with hosts and guests enjoying themselves, and guests departing one after another.

As the in-laws, Madam Guan walked at the back, and Song Lingsu personally escorted her out, only he kept glancing at Guan Shuyan with a subtle eye.

Madam Guan noticed this, and a smile filled her eyes. She got on the carriage first and said to Guan Shuyan, ”Let Huaiyan go back,” while waving her hand, prompting the nearby servants to discreetly move away.

Guan Shuyan, with a flushed face, hesitated with her steps and approached Song Lingsu, speaking softly like a mosquito: ”You should go back; my mother and I will leave first.”

”Hmm, I’ll watch you leave on the carriage,” Song Lingsu replied with a smile.

Guan Shuyan’s face grew hotter, and she pursed her lips, quickly pulling out a wallet from her sleeve and throwing it to him, saying, ”Well, congratulations on passing the exam.”

Song Lingsu deftly caught it and looked down to see his wallet embroidered with twin lotuses, his smile widened, ”It’s really beautiful.”

Guan Shuyan glanced up at him, feeling shy, tiptoeing, and said, ”I’m leaving.”

”Alright,” Song Lingsu also felt a bit shy and said, ”Next year, you won’t have to say this to me anymore.”

Guan Shuyan was startled but soon understood the hidden meaning in his words, feeling embarrassed, spitting at him lightly, she quickly got into the carriage.

Song Lingsu held the wallet, giggling foolishly.

Inside the carriage, Madam Guan looked at her daughter’s bashful appearance and laughed teasingly, ”It seems the madams were right; daughters grow up and can’t be kept at home anymore?”

Guan Shuyan blushed, rolling into her mother’s arms to pout, ”Mother, you’re teasing me again.”

Madam Guan pinched her nose lightly and said, ”Your future mother-in-law just revealed to me earlier that she’s considering two dates, one in March and one in May. Her intention is to hold the event before the old Madam’s birthday, so there will be support when celebrating the birthday, which means the date in March is most likely decided.”

Guan Shuyan pinched her little fingers, calculating that it’s about half a year away.

”Your father and I can’t stall anymore, nor do we need to. Seeing you like this, we don’t need to stall; your heart is set on Huaiyan.”

”Mother!” Guan Shuyan protested.

Madam Guan chuckled lightly, saying, ”Alright, I won’t tease you anymore. With March set, the date is close, and you won’t be able to go out freely. Just stay home and prepare for the wedding, whether it’s dowry or the gifts for the family acknowledgement ceremony, get them ready quickly. You also need to prepare for the children in Huaiyan’s third uncle’s household. As the eldest daughter-in-law, you can’t afford any mistakes in etiquette, you understand?”

Guan Shuyan solemnly said, ”Mother, rest assured, I’ll only be over-prepared, never under-prepared.”

Madam Guan affectionately touched her head and said, ”I only hope you’ll have a smooth future in your husband’s family, with harmony between husband and wife, enlightened parents-in-law, and a peaceful relationship with sisters-in-law.”

Guan Shuyan intimately rubbed her neck, saying, ”Mother, rest assured, I’ll live well. As for sisters-in-law, the Song family’s family style is open-minded; neither the old Madam nor the second Madam likes to be arrogant but rather are open-minded and insightful individuals. I suppose the daughters-in-law they choose won’t have an arrogant, domineering nature.”

Madam Guan thought of what she saw and heard at Chunhui Hall, saying meaningfully, ”You’re right; maybe they’re even acquaintances!”

Guan Shuyan looked slightly surprised.
