The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

The Crown Prince left the palace and arrived at the Prime Minister’s Mansion. Song Zhiyuan was surprised but didn’t alert too many people to greet him, to avoid causing further chaos.

In fact, he wasn’t the only one surprised. Even the guide, Wan Yicheng, was flustered. He just couldn’t understand it; the Crown Prince could have easily summoned Song Lingjie to the palace. Why bother coming in person, not considering his own precious identity, with so many watching?

Indeed, having spent years as the Crown Prince’s study companion, often accompanied by Song Lingjie, and receiving guidance from the Empress Dowager, Wan Yicheng quickly matured. Though only nine, he had a clear understanding of right and wrong.

But how did the Crown Prince explain it?

”Little Wan, you don’t understand. Before becoming the Crown Prince, leaving the palace was already a rare opportunity. Once the investiture ceremony is over, thinking of leaving the palace again would be nothing but wishful thinking. Besides, with more lessons ahead, I must take a good look at the world outside before losing more freedom.”

Listen, just listen to the Crown Prince, so rebellious and loving freedom!

So willful.

Wan Yicheng had no choice but to stay close, fully alert, carefully observing the surroundings, and vowing to practice martial arts diligently in the future, to guard against the Crown Prince’s capriciousness.

”So, this is the Prime Minister’s Mansion, it looks nice.” The little Crown Prince was already standing within the mansion, curiously inspecting the surroundings.

Wan Yicheng said, ”How can it compare to the Imperial Palace.”

”Little Wan, you don’t understand. The Imperial Palace is splendid, but it lacks liveliness...”

”Your Highness, watch your words!” Wan Yicheng’s face changed drastically, almost reaching out to cover his mouth. What nonsense was this, claiming there’s no liveliness? Isn’t everyone inside alive?

If someone overhears, there might be enough memorials from the Imperial Censors to stack finger-high, and even the Emperor couldn’t protect him then.

The little Crown Prince chuckled awkwardly, ”They dare not talk nonsense.”

Wan Yicheng looked as if he were about to cry, fearing there might be eavesdroppers, especially since there were many guests at the Prime Minister’s Mansion today.

”Little Wan, look, isn’t that the Prime Minister and Jie ge coming over quickly?” The little Crown Prince pointed at the figures approaching ahead.

Wan Yicheng focused his eyes and heaved a sigh of relief, ”Yes, it’s them.”

But, my dear Crown Prince, could you stop calling him ’Little Wan’, like barking at a dog, woof woof woof.

Song Zhiyuan quickly approached the little Crown Prince, lifted his robe, and was about to kneel, ”Your subject greets the Crown Prince, apologies for the late reception, please forgive me.”

As he knelt, those behind him followed suit.

The little Crown Prince quickly reached out to help, ”Prime Minister Song, no need for formalities, please rise quickly. It was my spontaneous decision, hence I didn’t inform your esteemed mansion.” He said this while winking at Song Lingjie, ’Wasn’t my visit a surprise, a pleasant one?’

Song Lingjie: ”...”

This capricious master indeed.

Song Zhiyuan straightened up and said, ”Your Highness left the palace, do the Emperor and Lady know?”

As he asked, he looked around, noticing no increase in guards, not a single sign of fanfare.

The little Crown Prince felt a bit guilty, his eyes darting around, contemplating lying.

Seeing this, Song Zhiyuan’s face darkened, ”Your Highness, remember you are the esteemed Crown Prince, do not lie.”

Wan Yicheng was startled, looking at the little Crown Prince, ”Your Highness, did you say Lady permitted it?”

The little Crown Prince shrank back, ”I just said it, who knew you’d believe it.”

Well, they were done for, clearly he tricked him because of his young age. He even said to disguise as Meng Jun, promising not to attract attention, and he actually believed it. How foolish.

”Your Highness, you’ve doomed Little Wan.” Wan Yicheng plopped down on the ground.

The Crown Prince sneaking out of the palace, one could only imagine the chaos it caused inside.
