The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 1013: Chapter 1013: Princess Min: Who Can’t Pass the Buck?

Princess Consort Min has been treated as a transparent person for over twenty years, and only this year she feels that she’s encountered stranger things than in the past two decades. Indeed, this marriage seems to open up another world, as her understanding continues to be overturned and refreshed.

She took a breath and lowered her eyes, saying, ”Consort, I have always disliked attending banquets and don’t know many Madams, so I’m afraid I may struggle with this heavy duty.”

Princess Consort Ji’s face darkened: ”You are the Official Wife, can you not manage even such a small matter? If you don’t know them, then go meet them, find a list to understand them a bit and then test their attitudes. Must I teach you this?”

Princess Consort Min’s brows furrowed.

”Xia, remember your identity as Princess Consort Min; you ought to help manage the Prince Mansion’s affairs. Besides, I am your mother-in-law, directing you in tasks that you might not know or understand, but can you not learn? You cannot even accomplish this; what do I need you for?” A hen that doesn’t lay eggs, only knows how to indulge in food and drink, offers no help—pray tell, which household’s matron has it this easy?

Still expressionless, Princess Consort Min responds, ”I’ve always been an ornament.”

”You!” Princess Consort Ji’s face darkened: ”Are you being rebellious and unfilial?”

Back then, it shouldn’t have been about finding a Noble Lady in the capital. Didn’t find a renowned lady, instead ended up with a jinx like this—you can’t kick out, yet must worship like an ancestor. Absolutely maddening.

Careless!

”Consort, please calm down, I wouldn’t dare. Since you instruct, I will do my best, but truly I don’t know many people, so seeking assistance would be acceptable, right?” Princess Consort Min asked without warmth.

Princess Consort Ji held her breath in restraint and said, ”Regardless of whom you seek help from, I only want a candidate.”

”Then does the Consort have any requirements for this candidate?”

Princess Consort Ji thought to herself, naturally, the more noble the better. But she too lacked the face to say it, after all, the eldest nephew was quite unremarkable, and things at home were a mess.

”Of course, ideally from the Official family, someone sensible, able to manage the household, shrewd and intelligent,” Princess Consort Ji counted on her fingers: ”Absolutely cannot be like Liu, who only knows how to disrupt the family. Also, if there’s a suitable one, you may hint that in future, the title of Duke will pass to the eldest son. Duke of Anle has already said, once the new wife enters, he will petition to make Ji Fachang the Heir.”

Princess Consort Min was somewhat surprised; it seems the Ji Family learned from experience, wanting to marry an astute new wife, even at the cost of promising the position of Heir’s wife.

I wonder what thoughts the other Ji family members would have upon hearing this.

”I understand!”

”Understand and go do it. Act quickly; Ji Family must not be in chaos, best to settle on a candidate while the filial mourning is still hot.” Princess Consort Ji said.

”Yes.” Princess Consort Min bowed and turned to leave.

After leaving Princess Consort Ji’s quarters, Wan Chun frowned, ”Master, this Ji Family is too callous and heartless.”

Princess Consort Min merely glanced at her.

Wan Chun immediately shrank her neck and curtsied, ”This servant knows wrong.”

”Go and have someone summon Consort Bai for a talk.”

Wan Chun asked in surprise, ”Master intends to entrust this matter to her?”

”What else?” Princess Consort Min said indifferently, ”I’ve already stated that I don’t know people and need help. Consort should agree, Concubine Fang should naturally be more familiar with the nobles in the capital than me. Let her inquire, it’s most fitting.”

After all, Consort Bai has always been at odds with Consort Ji. Now there’s a chance to trouble Consort Ji. Now selecting a stepmother for Consort Ji, she’ll surely choose someone formidable, perfectly meeting Princess Consort Ji’s criteria.

Hmm, perfect way to pass the buck, that’s settled!
