The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 185: Chapter 185: Retreat When the Enemy is Strong

Throughout the entire Great Qing Country, there was only one Prince Dingbei, who led troops to pacify the three northeastern provinces. For many years, he remained stationed in the North, defending the land and protecting the border from foreign invasions.

Prince Dingbei was truly a powerful lord, wielding military might, having slain countless enemies, and holding immense influence. The enemies fearfully called him ’Niu the Evil Ghost’. It was said that over there in the three northeastern provinces, the surefire way to make unruly children behave was to say ’Prince Dingbei is coming,’ and the kids would instantly stop crying and causing trouble, working every single time.

No man doesn’t wish for a son to continue the family line, and Prince Dingbei was no different. He had power and wealth, yet he born with bad luck in progeny. It wasn’t until middle age that he had a daughter, the Commandery Princess Dongyang, and she was born to his legitimate wife. Named Niu Pan’er, it showed how much he longed for a son.

However, no matter how many concubines Prince Dingbei married or how hard he tried, as he was approaching fifty-seven, he only had one daughter, whom he cherished like a precious gem, doting on her tremendously.

Due to this, Prince Dingbei, and indeed the entire Prince Dingbei’s Mansion, regarded this sole offspring as they would their own eyes, fearing she might be shattered if held in the hand and dissolved if held in the mouth.

Even so, Niu Pan’er was raised like a boy from a young age, growing up on horseback with her father, learning martial arts and military strategy without falling behind. At twelve, she followed her father to war, slaying ten enemies, her skills were remarkable.

Niu Pan’er spent her childhood in military camps, her character was forthright and heroic, with an unrestrained boldness, able to tell raunchy jokes as well as any man.

From the first time she went to the battlefield at twelve until now, she had been involved in countless small battles, and a few large campaigns, participating in no less than thirty skirmishes. Aside from being the Commandery Princess Dongyang, she also carried the title of Niu the Junior General, granted by the Court; there was no denying it, her military achievements were solid.

Because of this, Niu Pan’er was not like other noble ladies, delicate and soft with snow-white skin, but rather had wheat-colored skin, a tall stature, often being called a tomboy.

Now at eighteen, the Commandery Princess Dongyang was still single. It wasn’t that no one wanted to become the Prince Dingbei’s son-in-law, but thinking about the valorous Commandery Princess Dongyang who could both fight and carry, they didn’t dare. Besides, Prince Dingbei had already hinted early on that he wanted someone to marry into the Prince Mansion.

With the northeast long pacified, Prince Dingbei worried over his daughter’s marriage. He also wished to remarry, so the father and daughter duo entered the capital, under the guise of preparing to celebrate the Emperor’s birthday, but in reality, hoping the Emperor would grant the Commandery Princess Dongyang a good match.

What? Even Prince Dingbei’s only commandery princess is having trouble getting married and needs a royal decree for her marriage? Shout once and there would be lines of suitors to choose from, right? But who knows how Prince Dingbei is thinking?

In any case, here they are, bringing the lady with them.

In front of us is a slightly dark fire, one who has achieved countless military merits and slain many enemies. It’s said that she even beheaded an enemy general, hanging the head at her waist as she returned, Niu the Junior General, the Great Qing’s only female general.

She’s not merely a tomboy; calling her a tomboy would be underestimating her. She’s like a fierce goddess, a demon!

Hearing Bao Datong’s words, Song Zhiyu instinctively glanced at the Commandery Princess Dongyang’s waist, imagining a head swaying there, his mind spinning.

The person in front not only has a strong background but also skills to match.

What to do?

Retreat when faced with a strong enemy.

Song Zhiyu rolled his eyes and cried out, clutching his head and leaning against his servant Si Xi: ”Oh my, my head hurts, my chest hurts. I might have damaged my brain from that fall earlier. Si Xi, quickly take me back to the mansion and summon the Imperial Physician.”

Si Xi replied with a sound, disregarded others’ stares, hoisted Song Zhiyu over his shoulder, and quickly darted away.

Song Zhiyu wanted to faint completely, thinking, I’m asking you to take me back, not carry me! Do I have no face left?

Everyone, Niu Pan’er: ”...”

The black-clothed guard was dumbfounded, then furious: ”Commandery Princess, may I chase after that rascal?”

Niu Pan’er smiled: ”Forget it!”
