The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 162: Chapter 162 Song Ci is Very Worried

Empress Dowager was very happy, whereas Song Ci.

To be honest, was quite worried!

Even if it was just coming to the Prime Minister’s Mansion every few days for a stay, it entailed responsibility, to ensure the personal safety of that precious Wan Yicheng, to ensure nothing happens to him in the Song Family. And all this requires constant vigilance, who knows what dirty tricks those scoundrels are planning behind the scenes?

No, precaution must be taken, give a preventative jab first, grasp both safety and education, and subdue the existing dangers a bit.

Song Ci didn’t care if it overstepped boundaries, directly asking, ”Lady, bringing Little Cheng’er into the palace, there’s no rebellion from Uncle’s Mansion?”

The people at the Uncle’s Mansion are intent on sending an adopted child to this branch of the Empress Dowager, hoping to gain the title of Duke Cheng’en, can they be calm now?

Empress Dowager Wang’s smile froze for a moment, then she sneered, ”How could there not be a fuss, even though we caught them off guard here, they still came up with countless excuses, even calculated that this child’s birthdate was hard, almost explicitly stating it would curse me.”

”Lady...” Song Ci was speechless, aren’t the ancients most afraid of this? But the Empress Dowager seemed completely unfazed, speaking so bluntly.

Empress Dowager: ”It doesn’t matter, I am the most noble woman in this world, I’m not afraid of any curses, and I believe my destiny can bless that child.”

Song Ci was surprised, this mindset was indeed correct.

”Lady, with your heart for the world, you’re naturally a blessing to all people. Without you, that child might not even have enough to eat.”

Empress Dowager smiled broadly: ”See, A’Ci really knows how to live transparently. When Uncle saw I was going to take him away, his face, oh, I heard it looked as if he had swallowed a fly, even thinking of inserting someone in, in the name of taking care of the child, ha, thinking I don’t know what they want?”

”Lady, it’s not that I want to engage in conspiracy theories, but when interests are involved, you still need to provide more protection for this child. All those serving him must be dispatched by your side, regardless of what Uncle says, just use your people.”

”Of course, since I’ve decided on this adopted child to succeed my brother’s branch, I naturally won’t let anyone meddle and lead this child astray.”

”It’s still not enough.” Song Ci licked his lips, saying, ”Lady, some people, for their own benefit, will try every trick in the book. Let me be bold in saying, there are many children, if Wan Yicheng is gone, there’s still Zhang Yicheng, Lin Yicheng. You must let those people know, without this Wan Yicheng, there will be no others, and no further adoptions. Only then will they have scruples, even needing to protect this child.”

The Empress Dowager was slightly taken aback.

”The Uncle’s Mansion does not have hereditary succession. To be blunt, compared to the Duke Mansion and the Marquis Mansion, it falls far behind. At least the Duke Mansion has titles passed down for three generations, but what about the Uncle’s Mansion? Each generation is worse than the last. To secure their own prosperity, they must rely on a solid backing. With the future Duke Cheng’en Mansion, belonging to the same lineage, they’ll have to show some care. But if there’s no Duke Cheng’en Mansion, and if the Uncle’s Mansion does not have competent people in charge, they will eventually perish.”

Song Ci spoke softly, ”The title of the Uncle’s Mansion was practically picked up, stolen, it’s always meant to be returned. If you don’t take it back, it’s your magnanimity, they should be trembling with fear in assisting the Duke Cheng’en Mansion, shouldn’t they? Lady, you must let them know the importance of the Duke Cheng’en Mansion’s existence. Without it, there is no Uncle’s Mansion. Only then will they dare not touch the child and even have to find ways to support him.”
