The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 174: Chapter 174: The Newly Promoted Duke Cheng’en

No matter how the calculations of Uncle’s Mansion turn out, once the royal decree is in hand, it only means accepting fate.

On the second day after Uncle Loyalist entered the palace, he took the family genealogy and removed Wan Yongping’s name from the seventh branch, replacing it with Wan Yicheng’s name in the fourth branch, under the name of Duke Cheng’en’s grandson Wang Zetong.

As soon as the sacrifice was over, an Angel arrived at Uncle Loyalist’s residence to proclaim the decree, appointing Wan Yicheng to inherit the marquis title, being conferred the title of Third Class Duke Cheng’en, and to take charge of the Duke Cheng’en Mansion.

Uncle Loyalist knelt behind the newly appointed Duke Cheng’en, tears streaming down his face.

The dust had settled on the adoption, and years of planning turned out to be a dream.

Alas, woe is me.

He had to cry, or all this frustration would never dissipate.

Wan Yicheng held the scorching hot royal decree, crying out ”Long Live” three times to express gratitude to the Emperor and Empress Dowager, also with tears in his eyes.

From today on, there is no more Wan Yongping, only Duke Cheng’en Wan Yicheng, and he must bear not just the responsibilities of the fourth branch but also the future seventh branch.

For this, he bore significant responsibilities, needed to strengthen himself physically, and the primary condition for choosing a wife in the future was that she must have wide hips and be good at giving birth.

Also, from this point on, this criterion for choosing a spouse seemed like a seed taking root in Wan Yicheng’s heart, growing and budding.

Looking at the newly appointed Duke Cheng’en, there was no one in Uncle Loyalist’s manor who wasn’t envious or jealous. How could such a good thing fall into the hands of such a little guy?

That little guy was so small, like a skinny chick, wasn’t the Empress Dowager afraid that this child couldn’t be raised well, and all her efforts would be for naught?

Despite the jealousy, currying favor was inevitable.

As soon as the Angel who proclaimed the decree left, Uncle Loyalist and the others stood up, only to be pushed aside as someone instantly moved in front of Wan Yicheng.

Uncle Loyalist was shoved so hard he nearly stumbled.

”Little Ping, Auntie knew all along, you are truly a blessed child, it wasn’t in vain that Auntie prayed and worshiped for the gods to protect you.”

The person grabbing Wan Yicheng’s arm was exactly his aunt from the sixth branch, Madam Zhou.

His uncle Wan Zhongxiang also stepped forward, followed by a string of brothers and sisters.

His great-grandfather from the sixth branch was the brother of his grandfather, so after his family was gone, he lived with the nearest sixth branch for two years, unfortunately, it was a wrong decision.

”Little Ping...”

Wan Yicheng holding the decree, looked at the people in front of him and said, ”I have already changed my name to Wan Yicheng, to show respect for the Emperor and Empress Dowager, you should call me Yicheng.”

Little Ping was the past; he is now the heir of the fourth branch.

Wan Zhongxiang and Madam Zhou were taken aback but then laughed, ”Then we’ll call you Cheng brother. Cheng brother, don’t be afraid to move into the Duke Cheng’en Mansion alone; Uncle and I can tidy up and move there with you to continue looking after you.”

The people behind: ”...”

Such a thick face, why not ascend to heaven!

”The fifth family, you dare say such things, back then how your boy bullied Little Ping, now saying stuff like this, doesn’t your face hurt?” Someone couldn’t help but mock.

Madam Zhou, being feisty, turned her head and said, ”We were just kidding, haven’t you heard that hitting is kinship and scolding is affection? We are just showing affection, what, are you jealous?”

”Ha, saying bullying so elegantly, who’s like that? I can’t be jealous of this; my skin is too thin.”

”You...”

Wan Zhongxiang pulled his wife, ”Don’t say anymore, Little Ping has left.”

Madam Zhou hurriedly turned back, only to find that Wan Yicheng had already walked up to the Palace Envoys, and couldn’t help but be anxious, ”Little Ping, where are you going?”

”Back to the palace!” Wan Yicheng raised his chin and looked at them coolly, ”I don’t live in the Duke Cheng’en Mansion, I live in the Cining Palace. Do you want to follow me there too?”
