Pokémon Invasion: Explaining Pokémon to Save the World

Perhaps because he was a child chosen by fate, or perhaps because he was influenced by the philosophy of that unusual village, the boy showed from the very beginning that he was different from others.

He possessed an intense curiosity toward Pokémon. Time and again, he ignored the warnings of the adults and insisted on mingling with small Pokémon, playing and spending time with them.

Once—

While playing alone in the wild, the boy met with an accident. Standing on the slope of a mountain, he lost his footing, and his entire body tumbled straight down into the ravine below.

At the critical moment, a passing Pokémon saved him.

Watching that small Pokémon leave without hesitation after rescuing him, a light seemed to flicker within the boy’s eyes.

From then on, the boy no longer listened to the adults’ warnings. He completely immersed himself in the world of Pokémon, becoming the strangest person in the entire village.

Time passed.

The war between humans and Pokémon erupted in full force. At that time, the land was drenched in blood and suffering. The shared resentment born from the countless Pokémon and humans who perished on that ancient continent seemed to stain the once-clear blue sky with a deep, crimson shadow.

The destruction of human civilization seemed imminent.

But at that very moment, a lone figure emerged from the wilderness.

And flying closely behind him in the sky was a black, dragon-like being.

Its name was Zekrom.

”I mentioned earlier that Zekrom represents ’ideals.’ According to legend, Zekrom assists those who seek to create an ideal world. So it’s not hard to see that this young man had already been chosen by Zekrom.”

Chen Mo gazed at the mural.

On the devastated, corpse-strewn land, the lone youth knelt upon blood-red soil, staring up at the darkened sky. A single tear slipped from the corner of his eye and fell to the ground.

His left hand pressed against his chest. His right hand clenched a handful of earth mixed with blood. He was silent—yet suffering, roaring inwardly.

And at that moment—

Lightning seemed to burst forth across the heavens. Within the thunderclouds, a massive figure slowly took shape.

As if sensing something, the youth raised his head toward the storm clouds, spread his arms wide, and opened his mouth, as though crying out his wishes to the sky.

Thus was the covenant formed.

In response to the youth’s ideals and desires, Zekrom within the thunderclouds answered, extending its enormous hand to meet his.

And so began the legend.

The viewers, as though witnessing the birth of history itself, were filled with excitement.

[If I’m not mistaken, this youth is that little boy from earlier, right?]

[Who else could it be? But damn, this mural is incredible—just looking at it feels like I’m personally experiencing that brutal era, witnessing the rise of someone who carried ideals in his heart.]

[I’m fired up just watching the scene where they form the contract!]

[Even with Zekrom’s power, could a human really change a world locked in endless war between humans and Pokémon?]

Reality turned out much as the viewers imagined.

Even with Zekrom’s immense power, the youth’s path was far from smooth.

Many human tribes saw him as nothing more than a madman. They beat him, then forcibly expelled him from their lands.

After repeated failures among several major tribes, the youth gradually came to understand that trying to persuade people whose hearts were rooted in hatred—using words alone—was unrealistic.

Once he realized this, the youth began traveling to the very front lines where wars between humans and Pokémon erupted. Relying on Zekrom’s power, he continuously intervened, preventing battles from breaking out.

Along this journey, he aided humans and healed Pokémon alike. Wherever he went, he used his actions to try to change how humans and Pokémon viewed one another.

In this way, the youth grew into a man.

His face was weathered by hardship, long stripped of its former innocence. Yet the pair of eyes that held his ideals remained firm—still shining with light.

And behind him, more and more humans and Pokémon gathered, forming an invisible force on the continent that could no longer be ignored.

Finally—

Once again relying on Zekrom’s power, the man intervened in another war.

This conflict was massive in scale. Under the man’s command, Zekrom did not simply annihilate one side, but instead maneuvered constantly between humans and Pokémon, helping him halt the war.

At first—

No one listened.

But when one faction that the man had once helped stepped forward and chose to support his ideals, the course of the war slowly began to change.

One… two… three…

All of the man’s efforts over the years seemed to be repaid in that moment. A new force—formed jointly by humans and Pokémon—rose up and stood between the two warring sides.

Standing atop Zekrom’s back, the man spoke loudly to the halted humans and Pokémon, occasionally pointing toward the ravaged land beneath them.

At last—

Weapons were lowered. Pokémon chose to return to the forests. The course of history was irrevocably altered.

The war was over.

Looking at this scene on the mural, countless viewers felt a deep, inexplicable sense of shared pride rise within their hearts.

[For someone like this, I can only say—respect. Genuine respect.]

[Zekrom is insane. Facing attacks from both humans and Pokémon, it still protected its chosen partner. This level of power really lives up to Mo-bao’s description.]

[Yeah, without Zekrom’s protection, that man would’ve died countless times over.]

[An absolute legend of a man! Humanity in that world was incredibly lucky—when civilization was on the brink of collapse, someone like this descended from the heavens.]

[I don’t know why, but seeing humans and Pokémon finally end their war made me tear up. When will our world reach a day where both sides can lay down their hatred?]

[Hey, don’t lose hope—we don’t lack a ’man sent from heaven’ in our world either. Isn’t Mo-bao standing right here?]

[After seeing this mural’s story, I finally understand just how difficult the path Mo-bao has chosen really is.]

Faced with the comfort and support from the livestream audience, Chen Mo felt deeply moved. But he also understood that he was not the same kind of person as the protagonist in the mural. If not for the sudden appearance of the system, he would have long since chosen to lie flat and give up.

Moreover—

The environment he faced was fundamentally different from that of the mural’s hero.

In this modern world undergoing Pokémon invasion, the conflict between humans and Pokémon had only just begun. Although some clamored for total annihilation, things had not yet reached the level depicted in the murals.

His starting point, comparatively, was much easier.

Looking at the predecessor in the mural who had already fulfilled much of his ideals, Chen Mo murmured softly to himself:

”Ideals…”

After a long moment—

Chen Mo’s gaze gradually became firm.

Although he had initially been half-forced onto this path, still…

Turning to look at Pikachu and Pidgeotto, who were watching him with concern, he smiled gently.

Thankfully, I chose this road. Otherwise, I never would have met you.

And because I’ve walked this path with you by my side—no matter what the future holds, I won’t regret it.
