I AM the Football Star

Chapter 78: Chapter 33: Italian D Division’s Ultimate Battle, Genius Connection

The decline in the influence of Italian football is an undisputed fact.

This is related to the retirement of Italy’s golden generation such as Maniero and Sotu. Since then, Italy has not had a good performance in international competitions, naturally failing to attract attention.

On the other hand, the match-fixing scandal brought great harm to Serie A.

Finally, the shift of capital also made top stars no longer yearn for Serie A, as they all headed towards the Premier League and La Liga, especially the Premier League.

At 7:50 p.m., the match is about to begin.

”Hello everyone, I am the stadium commentator at Sanremo City Stadium. Today, many special guests have arrived at our stadium,” the commentator began, as the camera started to move, focusing on one celebrity after another, ”Maniero! The brain of Italy, the brightest star among Juventus’s one-star four-arrows!”

”In the club, he is Sotu’s lifelong rival, but in the national team, they are the best partners. After retirement, the friendship between the two is enviable. Today is an important moment when Sotu might win the first championship trophy in his coaching career, and Maniero will definitely not be absent.”

”We can see that Maniero even brought his wife and daughter.”

”This is Carrel! He just came here to watch a match in the thirty-fourth round of the Italian D League. It seems he has been deeply attracted by Lu Yang’s football style. This King of Purple Lilies has personally expressed his admiration for Lu Yang, which is also the basis for Lu Yang being called the Crown Prince of Purple Lily!”

”Oh, my god, fans, cheer! Sandro Rauti is here too! This Milan star is rumored to be pursued by San Remo, and his appearance here today is a very positive signal. Next season, we are likely to see this superstar in the Italian Third Division!”

The scene erupted in enthusiastic cheers.

In fact, Rauti is not considered a superstar.

Looking at the entire football world of the same era, Rauti at his peak was only a first-class midfielder, still some distance from the top level.

But in recent years, as Serie A superstars have dwindled, someone of Rauti’s status is already highly sought after in Serie A, let alone in the Italian D Division stadiums?

”Oh, here we have our great mayor of San Remo, and next to him is Mr. Russell, the club president. They did not watch the match from the stadium box but came to the stands, which is surprising and exciting. They are with us!” the commentator continued, ”And here, we also have good news to tell everyone, a four-star stadium project belonging to San Remo has been finalized!”

”After this season, the construction of the new San Remo stadium will officially begin, expected to be completed in two years! By then, it will become a new landmark of San Remo and the new home ground of the San Remo football team!”

This news is sensational enough to make San Remo fans ecstatic!

A four-star stadium!

The stadium capacity exceeds 30,000!

It even qualifies to be selected as one of the venues for European competitions!

From the size of the venue to the completeness of the facilities, to the hidden requirements of dressing rooms, stands, and other areas, the four-star stadium has extremely high standards.

In Italy, where stadium equipment is relatively outdated, this is simply explosive news.

After all, San Remo is just a team in the Italian Third Division next season.

And a modern four-star stadium, not to mention the Italian Third Division, not every team in Serie A has such a home stadium.

For a moment, a Chinese idiom popped into the minds of many viewers watching this game, that is ”a waste of precious resources”!

”Oh, look who it is, Luis, a senior scout from Serie A powerhouse Florence’s scouting department, he’s here again.”

”And Smith, he is one of the youth training directors of Serie A giant AC Milan!”

”Over here, the head coach of a strong Serie B team Benevento is also present.”

”This is the director of football for Serie B’s Empoli!”

”Next to him is the chairman of Serie B’s Perugia!”

”This is the chairman of the Serie C team Renat!”

”Wait... why did the camera move away... this is... oh my god! I’m going to cry! Am I seeing things... is it her, is it really her?”

It must be said, this stadium commentator has quite a skill set, especially acting skills. He shouted with a trembling voice: ”Sofia Katrina! One of the most beautiful women in Italy! One of the top ten goddesses in Europe! Known as the Kiss of Europa!”

”Perhaps not everyone loves football, but everyone must have liked Sofia Katrina!”

”She’s here, she actually came!”

Boom!

The audience at the scene was completely boiling, all looking towards the area where Sofia was.

The fans in front of the TV were also stunned.

Sofia actually appeared here!

How many years has it been since Sofia finally appeared in front of the camera again!

Countless fans of Sofia from back then flocked in, locking their sights on this match.

”It’s really Sofia!”

”She’s more mature, more charming, and more confident!”

”Yes, she’s even more attractive than before!”

”Beautiful Sofia, why hasn’t anyone cast her in movies anymore? This is truly the greatest waste in the world!”

”Why did Sofia come to watch the match, does she like football?”

”Doesn’t seem like it?”

”Heard that Sofia is in the middle of shooting a film that she’s writing, directing, and starring in?”

”Getting such an opportunity is not easy, Sofia will surely succeed this time.”

”What could have made Sofia interrupt her shoot to watch a match, what reason, who?”

”Sofia is waving the San Remo jersey!”
