I AM the Football Star

Chapter 76: Chapter 32: Upgrade! We’re Just Friends

”He is a Leader! San Remo Captain speaks highly of Lu Yang!”

”He’s getting stronger, using his heel to toy with the opponent, keeping the team’s championship hopes alive!”

”From relegation team to champion! San Remo is performing a miracle!”

”Goal drought! Vedian has not scored or assisted for two rounds, he’s lost!”

”Hard to return! San Remo’s three main players on the right confirm injuries, missing the final league round!”

”Time bomb! San Remo’s right wing devastated by the weak Tirana, they can’t defend anyone!”

”Decline shown! San Remo struggles to beat weak teams, how can they compete for the championship with the league leader?”

After the match, the Italian D League entered a white-hot stage, with news boiling over.

Saying it’s like pulling one hair and affecting the whole body isn’t an exaggeration.

San Remo faces immense pressure.

But Lu Yang gains new insights.

”Ding! In this match, you did everything a locker room leader should, activating player-level skill, Spiritual Leader!”

”Spiritual Leader: When you’re on the field, teammates’ mental state increases by five percent. After delivering a speech, it increases another five percent!”

Lu Yang looked at the system, gaining a whole new understanding of it.

So far, the system has shown several different modes.

The first is the reward mode, where any outstanding performance on the football field might bring random rewards.

The second is earning praise from superstar players, which also brings rewards.

Now, there’s a third mode, where one’s actions meet the system’s set requirements for a skill, activating the skill directly.

Like the Spiritual Leader skill, wasn’t this precisely the role he played during half-time in the last match?

Because of this Spiritual Leader skill, Lu Yang’s leadership in the spirit attribute jumped directly from 55 to 80!

”This is outrageous!” Morici walked to Lu Yang holding the football, ”Everyone thinks we can’t win!”

While juggling the ball to warm up, Lu Yang asked, ”Who?”

”Everyone!” Morici was almost beyond anger.

Lu Yang dismissively said, ”When the second half of the season started, no one believed we could avoid relegation or get into promotion zones.”

”That’s different!” Morici said, ”Back then, we hadn’t shown enough strength, so being overlooked was normal. But now, they’re lying with their eyes open, they’re underestimating us!”

Lu Yang recalled Suarez’s experience in the 20-21 season and laughed, ”If a club underestimates you, respond by winning the championship! If we win the next game, we’ll win everything, what are you angry about?”

Morici paused.

Indeed, what was he angry about?

Could it be... He secretly believes San Remo is difficult to win, which is why the lack of recognition angers him so much?

As a midfield commander, he must remain absolutely calm, for he is the team’s brain, thinking about the situation and not being influenced by other factors.

Clearly, Morici had lost his composure.

But this is understandable, given that it’s a legendary championship.

If San Remo wins the championship, the news effect will be immediate, with the drama absolutely maxed out.

As the midfield core of this legendary championship, what kind of praise and recognition should Morici receive?

”Relax, we are indeed at a disadvantage, but we will definitely win!” Lu Yang’s eyes were firm.

Morici nodded, stopped complaining, and resumed training.

He wouldn’t deny his loss of composure because only by seeing and identifying your issues can you solve them.

The presence of Lu Yang made Morici aware of his problems in several areas, leading Morici to gradually become... perfect.

This is the change a genuine close buddy should bring you.

...

May 22.

The 38th round of the Italian D League begins.

Today, among the top six in the Italian D Division, four are playing.

The championship battle between San Remo and Tulis takes place tomorrow night.

Unexpectedly, in the final round, both Palermo and Catania were tenaciously shot down by their opponents, ending in draws.

On the standings, Palermo sits at 74, Catania at 73, posing no threat to Tulis and San Remo.

This also declares the successful promotion of Tulis and San Remo!

Even if Bisceglie wins, they can only push San Remo to the third place.

Suddenly, San Remo fans celebrate with drums!

The crises have completely reversed.

Moreover, soon, even better news arrived.

In the match between Bisceglie and Franca Villa, Franca Villa’s starting lineup shockingly included the main central forward, previously considered a smokescreen!

From the thirty-second round onwards, he was out due to injury, causing the team’s performance to drop continuously from joint first on the standings to sixth.

But this time, the main central forward’s return showed his match dominance with a brace, leading Franca Villa to a 2-1 victory over Bisceglie.

Bisceglie, previously fourth, now sits at 72, becoming the last among the top six, missing promotion!

Bisceglie fails to qualify for the third division!

They were the Italian D League’s mid-season champions, but in the second half, they fell into a goal-scoring drought and repeatedly let down at crucial moments.

Arnold becomes the subject of critique among Bisceglie fans, as he perfectly embodies what it means to let down in crucial moments!
