I AM the Football Star

Chapter 70: Chapter 30: Seeking to Buy a Serie A Superstar!

After the start of the second half, San Remo made adjustments, substituting their main right forward and right midfielder.

However, San Remo’s substitute players were clearly somewhat inadequate, and the team quickly conceded a goal.

The opponent broke through San Remo’s right flank for this goal.

The substitute right forward, right midfielder, and right center back Naji should all take responsibility for this.

But soon Lu Yang stabilized the situation.

Because of the knee bounce in the first half, the opposing defenders did not dare to get too close to him, allowing him ample space to perform. He made direct passes and lofted passes, continuously creating threatening attacks and generating multiple corner kicks.

Finally, during a corner kick attack, Naji, with strong heading attributes, scored a redeeming header.

This was also his fourth goal of the season.

As a center back, such statistics are extremely rare.

In the eighty-fifth minute of the match, heavily guarded Lu Yang passed to Morici and then moved forward, receiving Morici’s lofted pass in the penalty area. After a perfect foot absorption of the ball, he took a powerful shot.

The rising shot perfectly avoided the descending goalkeeper, and the ball crashed into the upper side of the net inside the goal, at a strange angle.

No more goals were scored in this match.

San Remo secured an easy victory with a score of four to one.

This match further showcased Morici’s sense of the big picture and his ability to control the game. With one goal and one assist, he received the highest score of the match.

Similarly, Lu Yang also shone in this match, announcing his triumphant return with an excellent record of one goal and two assists, earning him the honor of best player of the match, tied with Morici for the highest score.

While Morici focused on organizing the team, Lu Yang took up the responsibility of launching the attack. He still isn’t a leader who can command the battlefield, but he has already shown his talent in delivering the final pass.

He has gradually become an adequate cerebellum.

In both offense and defense, he can become the final straw that breaks the opponent together with San Remo and Morici.

Such a performance also earned Lu Yang another random gift pack.

”Ding! You have obtained a Star-level Skill, Redondo’s heel!”

Lu Yang was very satisfied.

Although it’s no longer part of the ”Wolf” series of products, Redondo’s heel is absolutely one of the most fantastic kicking styles for cool kickers.

Redondo played for Real Madrid, AC Milan, and other teams and was a graceful defensive midfielder.

During that era, the core of the midfield had not been moved back, and the defensive midfielder was often synonymous with a defender.

And to receive praise for having a graceful playing style as a defender was exceedingly rare.

Even among attacking players, not many earned this honor.

This shows how clean Redondo’s technical moves were.

The heel touch and rabona are somewhat similar, both can be used for passing and shooting. However, in comparison, the heel touch occurs more frequently than the rabona because this move is more concealed and practical.

Moreover, in the realm of flair, the heel touch is also superior to the rabona.

...

”Lu Yang Returns, San Remo Wins Ten in a Row!”

”Breaking into the Top Three, San Remo Creates a Miracle!”

”One Shot Two Assists Dominates the Match, He Continues His Rampage in the Italian D Division!”

”Beating Weak Teams Doesn’t Mean Much, Vedian Not in Good Form This Round, Failed to Score!”

”Two Players Adjusted at Midfield, San Remo May Face an Injury Wave!”

”Fourteen Goals and Eleven Assists, Lu Yang’s Terrifying Half-season Stats, Efficiency Crushes Italian D Division!”

”Five Goals and Sixteen Assists, Morici Secures League Assist King Title, Only Used Half a Season!”

”Vedian Misses Open Goal, Just One Goal Away from Legendary Stats 25+10!”

The media buzzed with discussions.

The good news was that Franca Villa lost to Catania in their strong matchup, keeping their points at 69.

And Catania, who won this round, also had 69 points, but due to a better head-to-head record with one win and one draw against Franca Villa, they ranked ahead of them.

This caused Franca Villa to drop out of the promotion zone, falling to sixth place in the standings.

Indeed, Franca Villa was second in the standings four rounds ago, tied with Bisceglie, who was first at the time.

Now, in just a blink of an eye, they have dropped to sixth.

The competition is clearly intense.

Catania reached fifth, finally climbing back into the promotion zone. This was their first return to the top five since being defeated by San Remo and falling out of the top five.

Palermo continued to win, sitting at 70 points in fourth place.

San Remo easily defeated their opponent to reach 72 points, now ranking third, and... tied with second-place Bisceglie!

Yes, Bisceglie also dropped the ball, or rather, the top two in the standings both dropped the ball.

Because this round, Bisceglie’s opponent was none other than the first-place team, Tulis.

When these two compete, there must be a loser.

But the final result was double defeat.

They tied, Tulis remaining at 74 points still at the top, but only two points ahead of the second and third places.

Bisceglie remained tied with San Remo at 72 points, and in terms of head-to-head record, both had one win and one loss.

However, in the first half of the season, Bisceglie defeated San Remo four to one, and in the second half, San Remo beat Bisceglie three to two, leaving Bisceglie ahead in goal difference, thus ranked higher.

With two rounds of matches left, the upcoming games still hold many critical battles.

This round’s match for the top spot between Bisceglie and Tulis certainly goes without saying.

In the next league round, Bisceglie’s opponent is still a top-six team, as they face Palermo.
