I AM the Football Star

Chapter 71: Chapter 30: Seeking to Buy a Serie A Superstar! (Part 2)

In the final round of the league, Bisceglie will have to play against Franca Villa.

Their schedule at the final stage can be described as a nightmare.

And their leading striker Arnold has encountered his own goal drought. Bisceglie’s recent unstable performance stems from this; they lack someone who can stand out in the face of strong opposition.

Arnold can bully weaker teams, but he is frighteningly cold when facing targeted defense.

This may be a common problem for the side road fast horse, tactically easy to be choked by opponents.

Likewise, in the final round, San Remo will also face its own critical battle against the current league leader Tulis.

This means they could very well hold their fate in their own hands.

Because the point gap between the two is only two points, if San Remo wins, they may overturn Tulis.

Of course, this is only possible if Bisceglie does not win both of their upcoming matches.

If Bisceglie wins both matches, even if San Remo defeats Tulis, they will still tie with Bisceglie in points, but in head-to-head goal difference, they are inferior to Bisceglie.

For a moment, there were news reports saying who might advance and win the championship.

Similarly, anyone might miss the promotion because the point gap between the top and fifth or sixth place is still only five points.

Theoretically, anything can happen in the remaining two games.

...

Sanremo Football Club, chairman’s office.

The club chairman called in Sotu to discuss important matters.

”Can we get promoted this season?” Mr. Russell, the club chairman, was somewhat anxious. He is the chairman of Russell Construction Company, one of Italy’s large real estate developers.

His biggest dream is to build a large stadium for San Remo, rather than the current old stadium that can only accommodate two thousand people.

But only a good team deserves a good stadium.

San Remo is currently only short of performance!

Not to mention Serie A, even if San Remo had a Serie B level, Russell would dare to begin construction of the stadium!

The city government supports his actions and hopes he can start construction soon.

”It’s hard to say; we’ve encountered an injury crisis, sir.” Sotu frowned.

The team’s main right winger and right midfielder have been confirmed to have varying degrees of muscle strain, making it difficult for them to perform well in the next two matches. For their recovery, Sotu can only exclude them from the upcoming two matches.

This means... San Remo already has three main players out due to injury.

Even Klopp said, if you have three main players injured, even if you’re Manchester City, you can’t make it to the Champions League final.

How could Sotu dare to guarantee anything?

”If we can be promoted to Italian Third Division, I will buy you any player you want next season... as long as they’re willing to come.” Russell was sincere.

We have money!

Just lack the promotion.

Then, the two discussed team transfers.

Sotu gave Russell a list in advance, allowing Russell to send people to negotiate; these are the players he wants.

Some players might be too late to inquire about after the season ends.

A team like San Remo doesn’t have its own scouting system; Sotu is willing to write the list, and Russell is instead happy.

But he was shocked to see some names on the list.

”Latu Yidi? Really? We can inquire about a Serie A top midfielder like Latu Yidi?” Russell was stunned.

”Latu Yidi’s form declined quite quickly this season, and he is also thirty-four years old, Milan won’t pay him a high salary, but he still wants to earn money for a couple more years,” Sotu said, ”next season our payroll will definitely increase, and according to Lu Yang and Morici’s performance, their salary will definitely be higher than the average at Italian Third Division.”

”But these combined might still be far less than Latu Yidi’s annual salary.”

Russell thought for a moment: ”I’ve long been prepared, wanting to see Serie A stars at Italian Third Division requires having this awareness. Not just Latu Yidi, Lu Yang and Morici will also receive the salary they deserve; they are so good, and their agent Arthas won’t let them be wronged.”

”As long as the team keeps improving, no matter how much is spent, it’s worth it.”

Russell emphasized the word ’improvement’.

”We won’t stay in Italian Third Division,” Sotu said, ”as long as we rush into Italian Third Division this season, we’ll be cautious in the first half of next season; the second half we definitely can dominate, but the premise is...”

”The premise is you can get the players you want.” Russell nodded.

”No, the premise is we can rush into Italian Third Division,” Sotu said, ”otherwise I can’t persuade Latu Yidi and Milan’s youth trainees to join an Italian D Division team.”

Two days later, ”Live Football Report” leaked inside information.

Italian D Division team San Remo asks about Milan’s dedicated midfielder, Sandro Rauti!

The whole Italian D and C Division instantly exploded.

”My God! Latu Yidi! Really?”

”Top defensive midfielder in football, Milan’s sweeper Latu Yidi?”

”How can Latu Yidi possibly play in Italian D Division? It’s an insult to him!”

”Hey, buddy, San Remo might be promoted to Italian Third Division next season.”

”Isn’t Italian Third Division still trash?”

”Candidly speaking, Latu Yidi’s decline this season is too fast, he can’t adapt to Serie A level matches anymore.”

”But even so, there are still Serie A teams willing to purchase Latu Yidi.”
