Yusuke Uchiha advanced step by step towards Kōga Kuchiki, who was trembling slightly, continuously increasing his spiritual pressure, placing ever-increasing pressure on Kōga Kuchiki.

”Muramasa, hurry, control his Zanpakutō!” Kōga Kuchiki urged internally. Muramasa, striving to cooperate, attempted to use its spiritual pressure to control the katana at Yusuke Uchiha’s hip, yet received no response whatsoever.

”Kōga, his Zanpakutō seems sealed by some force; I can’t sense it at all. No matter how I try to use my hypnotic power, his Zanpakutō doesn’t respond,” Muramasa’s voice resonated within Kōga Kuchiki’s mind.

”Could it be as he said, due to the difference in our spiritual pressure? Before, I defeated those stronger than me because their spiritual pressure wasn’t strong enough?” Kōga Kuchiki reflected, recalling Yusuke Uchiha’s earlier statement.

As Yusuke Uchiha drew near, Kōga Kuchiki felt a sense of impending collapse.

”Impossible! My power is invincible!”

With a furious roar, Kōga Kuchiki unleashed a full-powered strike with his Zanpakutō at Yusuke Uchiha. However, to his utter despair, Yusuke Uchiha effortlessly trapped the blade between two fingers.

”Don’t you understand? You’re just a weakling who relies on his Zanpakutō. You’ve lost.”

Under Yusuke Uchiha’s condescending gaze, Kōga Kuchiki felt not only humiliation but also a profound sense of fear.

Seeing the complete absence of fighting spirit in Kōga Kuchiki’s eyes, Yusuke Uchiha shook his head in disappointment.

Dispersing the spiritual pressure directed at his opponent, Yusuke Uchiha turned to Ginjirō Shirogane. ”It’s over. Let’s go.”

Kōga Kuchiki’s body went limp; his face vacant, he sank to the ground in a kneeling position. He was drenched in cold sweat, his eyes devoid of focus, muttering to himself, ”I’m just a weakling... I’m just a weakling...”

For the proud and ambitious Kōga Kuchiki, who yearned to ascend to the higher echelons of the Seireitei, this devastating defeat delivered a crushing blow to his self-esteem.

While Kōga Kuchiki hadn’t always been so easily broken, his mentality had undergone a significant transformation since achieving his Shikai with Muramasa.

Despite his seemingly enhanced power due to his undefeated streak, his inner strength had, ironically, become brittle, rendering him incapable of accepting defeat.

Glancing at Kōga Kuchiki, kneeling defeated on the ground, Ginjirō Shirogane displayed a look of compassion, seemingly on the verge of offering words of comfort.

Yusuke Uchiha, however, calmly interjected, ”If a man cannot confront his failures alone, then his path ends here.”

While people often require solace and support, even the strongest individuals can experience moments of vulnerability and collapse.

However, the setback Kōga Kuchiki had encountered was merely a defeat in a single challenge. If he could not overcome such a relatively minor setback independently, then his potential for future growth would indeed remain severely limited.

Ginjirō Shirogane, upon hearing Yusuke Uchiha’s words, nodded thoughtfully, his expression conveying a newfound understanding.

He then expressed his astonishment at Yusuke Uchiha’s overwhelming spiritual pressure, to which Yusuke Uchiha responded with a few humble words of self-deprecation.

”By the way, Captain Uchiha,” Ginjirō Shirogane remarked, ”speaking of spiritual pressure, it reminds me of our family’s eyewear. Perhaps you’d be interested in a pair?”

As the voices of Yusuke Uchiha and Ginjirō Shirogane faded into the distance, Kōga Kuchiki remained alone, still sitting motionless on the ground.

After escorting Yusuke Uchiha to his new residence, Ginjirō Shirogane, still harboring concerns for Kōga Kuchiki’s well-being, immediately proceeded to the Kuchiki family mansion. There, he learned that Kōga Kuchiki had yet to return home.

Ginjirō Shirogane then sought out his former superior, Ginrei Kuchiki, to recount the events of that evening.

Ginrei Kuchiki remained outwardly composed, his expression unchanged, maintaining his characteristically serious and stoic demeanor.

After instructing Ginjirō Shirogane to diligently support the new captain, he dismissed him.

”Kōga,” Ginrei Kuchiki sighed, gazing at the moonlit night sky, ”I sincerely hope that this harsh lesson imparted by the new captain will serve to awaken the true strength and character within you.”

Ginrei Kuchiki genuinely cared for his son-in-law and held his abilities in high regard.

However, Kōga Kuchiki’s excessive reliance on the power of his Zanpakutō had led him down a path of self-deception and misdirection, causing Ginrei Kuchiki considerable worry and a sense of powerlessness in the face of his self-destructive tendencies.

Despite her earnest desire to set him back on the right course and guide him towards a more balanced and fulfilling path, his attempts had inadvertently resulted in Kōga Kuchiki becoming increasingly apprehensive and resentful towards him, a development which caused his significant distress.

”It seems this Uchiha Yusuke is indeed an extraordinary individual,” Ginrei Kuchiki mused to himself, ”I, too, find myself quite intrigued to witness his future contributions within the Seireitei.”

After a period of familiarization, Yusuke Uchiha had gained a complete understanding of the 6th Division’s operational responsibilities. In addition to overseeing the security arrangements for the Seireitei’s noble district, conducting regular patrols, and fostering positive relationships with the Shinigami residing within the noble district, he was also assigned the temporary task of coordinating the deployment of personnel to assist in the ongoing suppression of the rebellious Shinigami faction.

(In the original anime storyline, the 6th Division, under the command of Ginrei Kuchiki, actively participated in the suppression of the rebel forces. The rationale behind deploying the 6th Division, which is primarily tasked with protecting the nobility, remains somewhat ambiguous; the author can only surmise that the deployment was necessitated by a critical shortage of personnel.)

Due to the Captain-Commander and former 6th Division Captain Ginrei Kuchiki having covertly assigned Yusuke Uchiha the crucial objective of personally eliminating the leader of the rebel Shinigami, Yusuke Uchiha naturally assumed the responsibility of personally leading the Shinigami forces in the campaign to quell the rebellion.

Kōga Kuchiki, renowned within the division for his exceptional prowess in combat against Shinigami, served as Yusuke Uchiha’s second-in-command in this military operation, while Lieutenant Ginjirō Shirogane remained within the Seireitei to manage the routine administrative tasks of the 6th Division.

Since his previous defeat at the hands of Yusuke Uchiha, Kōga Kuchiki had become noticeably more reserved and taciturn.

Nevertheless, he remained true to his word, exhibiting unwavering obedience to Yusuke Uchiha’s commands. This unexpected display of compliance led Yusuke Uchiha to reassess his initial judgment of Kōga Kuchiki, prompting him to consider the possibility of mentoring and nurturing his potential. This consideration ultimately informed the decision to include Kōga Kuchiki in the expedition to suppress the rebel forces.

While the rebel Shinigami lacked significant individual strength, their sheer numbers posed a formidable challenge.

Yusuke Uchiha, leading the 6th Division’s contingent, engaged in numerous skirmishes. During these engagements, Kōga Kuchiki, driven by an intense desire to distinguish himself through acts of valor, consistently took the initiative, leveraging the unique abilities of his Zanpakutō to eliminate a considerable number of enemy Shinigami.

This accumulation of military achievements enabled Kōga Kuchiki to revert to his former self-assured and arrogant demeanor. However, this renewed arrogance also led him to inadvertently offend several of the Seireitei’s noble families.

Kōga Kuchiki’s humble origins as a destitute and impoverished Shinigami from the Rukongai, coupled with his current ostentatious display of superiority following his marriage into the prestigious Kuchiki clan, served to deeply antagonize these noble families.

Concurrently, the nobles harbored considerable apprehension and distrust towards Kōga Kuchiki’s Zanpakutō, a blade renowned for its ability to exert control over the Zanpakutō of other Shinigami.

Following a carefully orchestrated plot devised by several noble Shinigami, during one of Kōga Kuchiki’s routine reporting visits to the Seireitei, a group of Shinigami under their command launched a surprise ambush. Despite the unexpected nature of the attack, Kōga Kuchiki managed to swiftly eliminate the vast majority of his assailants.

However, the surviving Shinigami, employing a strategy of preemptive defamation, launched a counter-accusation, falsely claiming that Kōga Kuchiki had suddenly succumbed to a fit of madness and indiscriminately attacked them.

Capitalizing on these false accusations and the considerable influence wielded by the noble Shinigami behind the plot, Kōga Kuchiki was promptly apprehended by the Seireitei’s enforcement division and subsequently incarcerated.
