Using the Garganta opened by Pesche, Yusuke Uchiha didn’t arrive directly in Soul Society but in the Dangai, the intermediary realm between Soul Society, Hueco Mundo, and the human world.

These three realms are interconnected; without spatial warping abilities like ”Kamui,” traversing between them requires passing through the Dangai.

The Dangai is comprised of countless lengthy pathways. By sensing spiritual pressure (Reiatsu), one can determine which world each pathway connects to.

”So this is the Dangai,” Yusuke Uchiha murmured. ”The spirit particles (Reishi) concentration is far greater than in Hueco Mundo.”

Besides serving as a buffer zone connecting the different worlds within the Bleach universe, the Dangai was also the location Yusuke Uchiha planned to use for his next training phase.

The Reishi concentration here is two thousand times that of Soul Society, making it a training paradise.

In the original story, before Ichigo Kurosaki’s final battle with Aizen, Ichigo’s father, Isshin Kurosaki, brought him here to learn the ”final Getsuga Tenshō” and train his Reiatsu.

After three months of training in the Dangai, Ichigo Kurosaki’s Reiatsu surpassed even Aizen’s after absorbing the Hogyoku, ultimately leading to Aizen’s defeat.

This clearly demonstrates the Dangai’s effectiveness in rapidly enhancing a Shinigami’s power!

However, almost no Shinigami in Soul Society actually train in the Dangai.

Firstly, the Dangai is inhabited by an exceptionally powerful ”Leader of the Shiba Clan,” Kūkaku Shiba.

This ”Leader,” Kūkaku Shiba, possesses immense power and reappears in the Dangai every seven days after death. Kūkaku Shiba’s presence renders the Dangai an extremely dangerous place to train for most Shinigami.

Secondly, Soul Society regulations generally prohibit Shinigami from leaving Soul Society, let alone entering the Dangai.

Any exceptions requiring passage through the Dangai to Hueco Mundo or the human world necessitate approval from the Central 46 and are subject to strict monitoring.

Thirdly, a Shinigami’s growth has an upper limit. If a Shinigami reaches their peak, they can’t increase their Reiatsu regardless of training, which is why Aizen sought a breakthrough.

When a Shinigami can train in the Dangai, they are essentially at the pinnacle of Shinigami power, their Reiatsu already at its growth limit.

Yusuke Uchiha, not yet at his Reiatsu limit and free from Soul Society’s restrictions, planned to train in the Dangai to rapidly increase his power.

Yusuke Uchiha’s training method would involve combat with Kūkaku Shiba.

This carries considerable risk, but Yusuke Uchiha believed his current captain-level Reiatsu and unique abilities would be sufficient to cope.

Before starting his training, however, Yusuke Uchiha needed to make some preparations in Soul Society.

Upon entering the Dangai, Yusuke Uchiha sensed the auras of several worlds. One, diametrically opposed to Hueco Mundo’s aura, was identified as Soul Society.

Having confirmed the correct direction, Yusuke Uchiha swiftly traversed the Dangai pathways towards his destination.

At that moment, a long, dark gray creature, roughly the diameter of the Dangai pathway, with a golden core at its head, hurtled towards Yusuke Uchiha like a speeding train—Kūkaku Shiba, having detected Yusuke Uchiha’s spiritual pressure.

Any spiritual pressure in the Dangai would immediately attract Kūkaku Shiba, fulfilling his role as ”Leader.”

Though the Dangai pathways are extensive, they are easily traversed by a Shinigami of exceptional speed. Uninclined to engage in combat with Kūkaku Shiba at this juncture, Yusuke Uchiha resolutely pressed forward, directly entering the Dangai passage leading to Soul Society without hesitation.

The scenery transformed instantaneously, and the expansive vista of Soul Society unfolded before him.

Night had fallen upon Soul Society. To prevent his Reiatsu from being detected, Yusuke Uchiha activated his ”Kamui” ability, entering a Hollowfied state.

Given Yusuke Uchiha’s current dōjutsu prowess, maintaining this Hollowfied state for several hours posed no significant challenge, thereby enhancing his operational flexibility.

Observing the surrounding dilapidated streets and the decrepit state of the buildings, Yusuke Uchiha surmised that he had arrived in the impoverished Rukongai.

The souls inhabiting this desolate region bore a look of profound apathy and resignation, many remaining motionless, their backs pressed against the crumbling walls of their dwellings, their spirits clearly crushed by the seemingly endless and hopeless cycle of their existence.

Upon witnessing these disheartening scenes, a cynical smile played upon Yusuke Uchiha’s lips.

While the Seireitei serves as the official governing body of Soul Society, its primary function is to maintain the delicate balance of power within the world, concurrently safeguarding the Seireitei’s own armed forces.

The Seireitei’s upper echelons display a profound indifference towards the well-being of the human population in the human world and the plight of the souls residing in the Rukongai.

The Bleach universe necessitates a harmonious equilibrium of spiritual energy among the human world, Soul Society, and Hueco Mundo, and the Shinigami’s principal duty is to uphold this delicate balance.

The imperative to eliminate Hollows that manifest in the human world stems not from a desire to vanquish malevolent spirits or to safeguard humanity, but rather from the need to prevent the Hollows from consuming and depleting the souls of the human world.

The Seireitei’s decision to retain Hueco Mundo, rather than initiating a full-scale eradication campaign, is likewise motivated by the imperative to maintain this crucial balance.

The historical conflict between the Shinigami and the Quincy, in addition to serving the purpose of safeguarding the Seireitei’s political dominance, was also driven by the need to eliminate the Quincy, whose ultimate objective was the annihilation of all Hollows, thereby preventing the catastrophic collapse of the world’s delicate equilibrium.

In instances where an imbalance of power arises within either the human world or Soul Society, the Seireitei may even deploy Shinigami to actively eliminate human beings or souls dwelling in the Rukongai district, thereby ensuring the preservation of this delicate balance.

The foregoing factors serve to explain why the Rukongai has remained largely unchanged over the course of millennia.

The Seireitei’s upper echelons merely select a limited number of souls from the Rukongai, those possessing exceptional spiritual energy, to replenish the ranks of the Shinigami.

The remaining souls, those who have not been chosen to serve as Shinigami, are essentially relegated to the status of mere instruments, their existence solely serving to maintain the delicate balance of the world.

Naturally, the extent of knowledge regarding these intricate machinations is limited to a select few within Soul Society. Even among the captains, the majority remain oblivious to these closely guarded secrets.

As Yusuke Uchiha’s gaze swept across the multitude of faces, each etched with an expression of profound apathy and despair, he shook his head, preparing to depart. At that very moment, a malevolent gaze, sharp and intense, locked onto his, piercing through the veil of his Hollowfied disguise.

The eyes that had fixated upon him were those of Kenpachi Zaraki, a warrior whose insatiable thirst for combat was legendary.

The individual before him was none other than Kenpachi Zaraki, his attire consisting of ragged clothing and a battered sword, his long hair disheveled and unkempt. However, his appearance was notably different from that depicted in the original storyline, appearing considerably younger, his age seemingly that of a mere adolescent.

Despite the significant discrepancy between Kenpachi Zaraki’s current appearance and the image that had been etched into Yusuke Uchiha’s memory, the unmistakable aura of a savage predator, coupled with the sight of his sword, whose blade was marred by jagged imperfections, readily enabled Yusuke Uchiha to recognize his identity.

Perched upon Kenpachi Zaraki’s shoulder was a charming young girl with vibrant pink hair, her clothing remarkably clean and well-maintained, a testament to Kenpachi Zaraki’s devotion to her well-being, as he had evidently allocated his meager resources to ensure her comfort.

This young girl was none other than Yachiru Kusajishi, Kenpachi Zaraki’s inseparable companion, bound to him by an unbreakable bond.
