The Empress Wants a Divorce Every Day

Chapter 160: Chapter 160: The Princess Consort Falls Out of Favor (Bonus Chapter)

Nan Feng had no idea that changing from thirty strokes of the cane to house arrest was like ascending from hell to heaven for Feng Qing. So what if it’s house arrest? She couldn’t be happier. Besides, she didn’t want to serve Rong Ling. Staying in her own courtyard was pure joy.

Feng Qing was happy, but others were not.

In the front courtyard of Yijing Courtyard, Rong Ling looked at Nan Feng with a cold expression, asking in a deep voice, ”What did that woman say?”

Nan Feng twitched his mouth. Did the Princess Consort make the Prince this angry? She had turned from the Princess Consort to ”that woman.”

However, seeing the Prince’s expression, if he told him that the Princess Consort accepted the punishment joyfully, would the Prince be even angrier?

Nan Feng dared not say a word and murmured, ”Nothing, didn’t say anything.”

Ever since Rong Ling learned micro-expression psychology from Feng Qing, he had subconsciously started observing people’s expressions. Often, he could tell what the other person was thinking.

Thus, seeing Nan Feng’s expression now, he knew Feng Qing must have happily accepted the punishment.

This was entirely different from what Rong Ling had expected. His face darkened instantly, and his phoenix eyes were filled with coldness. He gritted his teeth and said coldly:

”Let her stay in the Purple Bamboo Pavilion for life if she’s that capable.”

After speaking, he angrily lay down on the bed and closed his eyes to sleep.

Nan Feng hurriedly left, afraid that the Prince would ask him to do something to punish the Princess Consort again.

In the following days, Feng Qing didn’t step out of the Purple Bamboo Pavilion and stayed quietly in her courtyard.

If there was anything that displeased her, it was that her meals had changed from the small kitchen in the front courtyard to the large kitchen in the back courtyard.

The cook from the small kitchen said directly, the Prince ordered that the people of his courtyard don’t cook for others.

Upon hearing Si Qi’s report, Feng Qing sneered and cursed, saying it’s better to save a dog than a person.

Si Qi and Si Hua were scared to their core, wishing to cover the Princess Consort’s mouth. Luckily she only said a sentence and didn’t say more.

Feng Qing stayed inside the Purple Bamboo Pavilion for three days straight without coming out, and everyone in the Prince Mansion noticed something was amiss.

Many began spreading rumors.

”The Princess Consort has lost favor.” ℯℯ𝑙.

”Seems like she’s been put under house arrest by the Prince and hasn’t come out since.”

”Do you think that after the Princess Consort lost favor, someone else will gain favor? Could it be Han Concubine who entered earlier? After all, Han Concubine is the number one beauty of Dayan.”

”It’s really hard to say.”

The entire Prince Mansion was abuzz with speculation, and the concubines also became eager, looking for excuses to visit Yijing Courtyard under the guise of checking on the Prince’s health.

Previously, Rong Ling did not allow the concubines to enter his Yijing Courtyard at will, but this time he was surprisingly lenient, permitting any concubine who came to visit him.

Consort Jiang, Consort Song, and others were overjoyed; the Prince seemed more personable than before, and it seemed like once he recovered, he might favor them.

For a time, joy filled the mansion.

In contrast to the other joyful places, inside the Purple Bamboo Pavilion, the young maids wore faces full of worry, eventually affecting even Si Qi and Si Hua.

”Princess Consort, why don’t you also visit the Prince? Maybe he’ll lift your house arrest.”

Feng Qing was busying herself with medicinal herbs, making some common pills. With nothing to do for three days, she had sent Si Hua out to buy a lot of medicinal herbs, so she had something to occupy herself with.

Compared to vying for favor, Feng Qing preferred to handle herbs and make pills. As for Rong Ling, whoever wanted to serve him could do so. It wasn’t her concern.

”Alright, you just know how to give poor advice. If I go to see your Prince, it isn’t definite that he won’t find an excuse to give me a beating.”
