The Empress Wants a Divorce Every Day

Chapter 159: Chapter 159: Confined to Quarters (Bonus Chapter)

Feng Qing acted as if she hadn’t heard, and quickly ran away. As she walked, she wondered whether Rong Ling would really be so angry as to have her dealt with. Would he kill her or have her flogged thirty times?

Feng Qing thought about it and concluded that Rong Ling wouldn’t be so humiliated and furious as to kill her, so it was most likely that she would be flogged. The thought of being flogged gave her a headache.

Never mind, she might as well return to the Purple Bamboo Pavilion. Feng Qing thought as she deftly slipped back to the Purple Bamboo Pavilion with her two maidservants, Si Qi and Si Hua.

The two maids asked in bewilderment, ”Princess Consort, didn’t the Prince tell you to stay in the Yijing Courtyard to attend to him?”

Feng Qing could only laugh dryly; she couldn’t possibly explain to the two maids that their Prince had fallen into the bathtub and swallowed some bathwater, which was why he was currently in a towering rage, likely thinking of ways to deal with her.

In the bathhouse of the Yijing Courtyard, Rong Ling looked at Nan Feng with a face full of anger. Nan Feng respectfully spoke, ”Prince?”

Rong Ling looked at Nan Feng, and suddenly realized a problem. How could he justify dealing with Feng Qing? It would be inappropriate to tell his subordinates that their Princess Consort failed to support him, causing him to fall into the bathtub and drink some bathwater, so he’s going to punish her. If this story spread, he’d become a laughingstock.

If he were to change the story and say that Feng Qing offended him and he wanted to punish her, it would hold even less ground. Feng Qing had just saved him; even if she had offended him, it wouldn’t warrant a punishment.

As Rong Ling thought it over, his face grew darker and his demeanor grew even more hostile.

So this time, not only did he lose face, but he also had to swallow this bitter pill in silence.

Rong Ling gritted his teeth and marked this down in his heart, ”Feng Qing, you just wait.”

Rong Ling closed his eyes, but the thought of Feng Qing’s audacity made him unable to swallow his anger. He ordered coldly, ”Go, tell your Princess Consort that I don’t want to see her, and she should return to the Purple Bamboo Pavilion.”

Nan Feng was momentarily stunned but quickly realized that the Prince had clashed with the Princess Consort again.

Nan Feng didn’t dare to make more noise; he softly acknowledged and retreated.

However, he quickly returned, ”Reporting to the Prince, the Princess Consort has already gone back to the Purple Bamboo Pavilion with two maids.”

Rong Ling was infuriated once again; this woman had done something wrong and yet ran away so swiftly.

”Go to the Purple Bamboo Pavilion and tell that woman I don’t want to see her. Without my order, she’s not allowed to take a step out of the Purple Bamboo Pavilion.”

”Yes, Prince.”

Nan Feng sighed and turned to leave. It seemed this time the Princess Consort had really angered the Prince, but he was very curious about what exactly the Princess Consort had done to the Prince.

Inside the Purple Bamboo Pavilion, Feng Qing nervously freshened up to prepare for bed, but she didn’t expect Nan Feng to arrive with two others.

Feng Qing’s first instinct was that Nan Feng had come under Rong Ling’s orders to flog her, so her expression was extremely unpleasant.

But as soon as Nan Feng relayed Rong Ling’s order, she immediately beamed and felt much better.

”Alright, go back and tell the Prince, I will strictly adhere to the Prince’s orders and ensure I don’t take a step out of the Purple Bamboo Pavilion.”

Without the punishment of thirty floggings, Feng Qing felt the air was especially wonderful, and the people in front of her looked exceptionally pleasant. She waved gleefully at Nan Feng, ”Nanfeng Guard, go tend to the Prince, go on, go quickly and attend to your master.”

Nan Feng was at a loss for words; didn’t the Princess Consort know that this was a punishment, a house arrest order? Other women would have gone white with terror upon hearing this, yet she was so joyous.
