The Empress Wants a Divorce Every Day

Chapter 89: Chapter 88: Desperately Fighting Over a Man

Si Qi asked with a perplexed look, ”Why are they painting flowers on their faces for no reason?”

Si Hua rolled her eyes at Si Qi and said, ”It’s all about competing for favor. Seeing how the Prince spent the night in our Princess Consort’s courtyard yesterday, they thought the Prince has a unique taste and likes something painted on the face. So, they followed suit by painting flowers on their faces.”

After Si Hua’s words, Si Qi looked speechless. The Prince was at their Princess Consort’s courtyard, not for any particular reason, just being taught by the Princess Consort. Their imagination was really running wild.

Not far from the desk, Feng Qing glanced at Si Hua. This girl, though fierce in nature, is quite clever and very loyal, so she could be cultivated.

Feng Qing was writing about the content of micro-expression psychology in the study. She lectured for a full two hours last night and was nearly exhausted.

So starting today, she planned to write down during the day what she would lecture on at night, so when Rong Ling came, he could read it himself. If there was anything he didn’t understand, she would explain it to him. This way, she would achieve more with less effort.

No matter what antics the concubines inside the Prince Mansion got up to, the Regent King Rong Ling, unperturbed by thunder, came to the Purple Bamboo Pavilion every evening for meals. After eating, Feng Qing began teaching Rong Ling about micro-expression psychology.

After finishing the day’s content, Rong Ling would leave the Purple Bamboo Pavilion to return to the front courtyard to rest.

Time flew by, and seven days passed in the blink of an eye. In three more days, the Princess Guangling from the An Nan Marquis Mansion would be brought into the Regent Prince Mansion as a concubine.

The women in the Prince Mansion were all a bit anxious. Compared to these women’s anxiety, Rong Ling was relieved. Perhaps the Little Emperor wasn’t planning to make a move on him after all, and even if it was only out of fear, he wouldn’t take action against him either.

Thinking this, Rong Ling brought others to Purple Bamboo Pavilion for dinner again. Over the days, listening to Feng Qing talk about that micro-expression psychology had truly benefited him greatly. Following her teachings to observe the courtiers’ inner thoughts, he got it right two or three times out of ten.

Feng Qing said this was because he wasn’t familiar enough, so often he couldn’t capture the subtle expressions of others. Once he got familiar, he would notice more small details, making it easy to know what the other person was thinking.

But? How exactly does Feng Qing know these things?

Rong Ling was puzzled about this. According to Feng Qing, she claimed she learned by observing the people in the Marquis Mansion in her spare time.

But he felt this explanation was unreliable. Yet, truth be told, he couldn’t suggest any other reason. However, this micro-expression psychology was indeed useful to him.

That night, Rong Ling brought Nan Feng and others into the Purple Bamboo Pavilion first, and then Consort Jiang, Consort Song, the Tong Family, Mrs. Shu, and others came over in unison.

The few of them felt aggrieved. Yes, the Princess Consort is the main wife, and the Prince lodging at her place is rightful, but she should at least share a bit, some soup or water, with them.

In a month, it should be their turn two or three days. What is this now, occupying the Prince all the time? Even if she is the main wife, this kind of behavior is unethical. After all, they are also the Prince’s women.

When Consort Jiang and Consort Song saw Rong Ling, their eyes turned red with grievance.

Rong Ling looked at the women with a cold expression and asked, ”What’s going on here?”

Consort Jiang was a bit frightened seeing Rong Ling unhappy, but she stepped forward boldly, relying on being personally brought in by Rong Ling, and said, ”Prince, we are also your women. You shouldn’t be staying at the Princess Consort’s place all the time. It’s not fair.”

After Consort Jiang spoke, Consort Song interjected, ”Prince, even if it’s by rotation, it’s our turn now. Besides, if the Prince wants to wait for the Princess Consort to have the heir first, we can refrain from having children for now.”
