The Empress Wants a Divorce Every Day

Chapter 75: Chapter 75: The Empress Dowager’s Summons

Consort Jiang always felt she had guessed the truth, after all, the Prince was a very rule-abiding person.

But unexpectedly, the one entering the Regent Prince Mansion was not Feng Yao, the first talented woman of Dayan, but Feng Qing, the first ugly woman of Dayan.

Consort Jiang and others raised their hopes again; an ugly woman like Feng Qing, the Prince surely wouldn’t fancy her, so maybe in the end, she would still be the first to receive favor.

But tonight, the women in the backyard received news that the Prince went to the Purple Bamboo Pavilion late at night and did not come out for a long time.

Now everyone felt uneasy, as they hoped the Prince wouldn’t favor that ugly woman. Were they really not as good as that ugly woman?

The women of the Regent Prince Mansion all felt uncomfortable, until Regent Prince Rong Ling came out of the Princess Consort’s courtyard.

They started speculating again, did the Prince consummate with the Princess Consort?

A restless night ensued.

Feng Qing, however, slept soundly until dawn with excellent spirits.

After last night’s events, Feng Qing no longer wanted to escape. First, she had already touched Rong Ling’s bottom line, and if she tried to flee again and got caught, it would be certain death.

Second, Rong Ling had revoked the ten-day ultimatum, so she was not in danger of losing her life. Living in the Prince Mansion wasn’t bad; she ate and dressed well, without anyone bullying her. So she might as well stay for now.

After breakfast, Feng Qing, with nothing to do, picked up a small mirror to look at the human-faced spider mark on her face. They say this poison is both easy and difficult to cure; the hardest part is finding two rare medicinal herbs. However, once she leaves the Regent Prince Mansion, the first thing she’ll do is find these two herbs to cure the spider poison on her face.

As Feng Qing was pondering, Si Hua walked in. This girl came over early in the morning, kneeling and pleading for a chance to serve her. Feng Qing wasn’t hard on her, allowing her to stay and serve, since with only Si Qi beside her, there were many things she couldn’t manage alone, and having an extra pair of hands like Si Hua was beneficial.

”Princess Consort, the Empress Dowager in the palace has sent eunuchs to escort you to the palace.”

Feng Qing immediately sat up straight: ”Empress Dowager? Escort me to the palace?”

What’s the point of escorting her to the palace? She’s not familiar with that woman. Feng Qing always felt that the Empress Dowager summoning her to the palace wasn’t for anything good, but since the Empress Dowager sent people to escort her, she couldn’t refuse.

”Alright, let Caiyun go to the front and inform the eunuch who delivered the edict that I’ll be going right away.”

In the room, Si Qi attended to Feng Qing’s washing and dressing, while Si Hua took care of matters outside and helped Si Qi beautify Feng Qing. Once everything was organized, Feng Qing glanced at Si Qi and Si Hua and said, ”Si Hua, come with me to the palace; Si Qi stays in the Purple Bamboo Pavilion to keep an eye on the other maids.”

Both maids simultaneously bowed: ”Yes, Princess Consort.”

Feng Qing took Si Hua and walked out. Although Si Hua had a fiery temperament, the fierceness had its advantages. In a devouring place like the palace, only a temperament like Si Hua’s could hold the ground, whereas Si Qi was timid and might not handle certain situations well.

Because of this, Feng Qing chose to take Si Hua into the palace.

In the front hall of the Regent Prince Mansion, Housekeeper Uncle Lin was accompanying the eunuch in conversation. When Feng Qing appeared, Housekeeper Lin promptly came over with a smile to introduce to Feng Qing: ”This is Eunuch Dehai from the Empress Dowager’s palace.”

Feng Qing immediately nodded at Eunuch Dehai: ”Thank you for your trouble, Eunuch De. Do you know why the Empress Dowager has summoned me to the palace?”

Eunuch Dehai replied with a smile: ”To answer the Regent Queen, the Empress Dowager wishes to have a chat with the Regent Queen.”

Feng Qing didn’t believe a word of this Dehai’s nonsense; it was apparent there was a scheme to bring her into the palace. Could it be they planned to plot against her?
