The Empress Wants a Divorce Every Day

Chapter 74: Chapter 74: Everyone Feels Uneasy

Feng Qing immediately promised, ”Prince, rest assured, I will not speak of this matter again.”

”Since you want to atone for your mistakes, you should use your skills in the future to investigate the noble women in the court. See who is at odds with whom, who has grievances with whom. In short, investigate these matters and report them to me.”

”Alright.”

”If you encounter courtiers, understand their thoughts and intentions, and report to me, regardless of the size of the matter. I will judge its usefulness.”

”Okay.”

”Additionally, you can teach this skill to me.”

Feng Qing was surprised by Rong Ling’s last sentence and stared at him, ”Teach, teach it to you.”

”Yes, since you can understand others’ thoughts through micro-expressions and body language, why can’t I?”

”It’s not something that can be learned overnight. It requires a lot of observation and practice.”

”I will observe and think a lot.”

This meant he was determined to learn it under any circumstances.

Feng Qing wanted to ask, do I still have the right to choose? In the end, she thought, forget it, if he wants to learn, let him learn.

”Alright, I’ll organize my notes later and then teach the Prince.”

Rong Ling was very pleased with her attitude, and his handsome face looked much better. He got up and left. Behind him, Feng Qing raised her hand to rub her hair, extremely frustrated by the thought of helping Rong Ling understand the thoughts of the noble women in court and those of the courtiers.

These matters were not the main issue; the main issue was teaching Rong Ling.

That man would change his expression at the drop of a hat. She didn’t want to teach him, but was there any way to refuse?

As Feng Qing was worrying, Si Qi walked in with a look of surprise, previously thinking the Prince intended to forcibly take what he wanted. Now, it seemed there was no issue.

”Why did the Princess Consort make such noise?” Si Qi said, bewildered, ”Princess Consort, aren’t you tired? Go to sleep.”

As soon as Feng Qing heard this, she yawned, planning to sleep and fill up first. Anyway, now that the ten-day period was gone, she was much more relaxed. Besides, Rong Ling had seriously warned her earlier, so she didn’t dare to run around anymore. If she got caught again, she would probably be dead.

She decided to temporarily stay in the Regent Prince Mansion, and wait for a foolproof opportunity in the future.

Feng Qing climbed into bed and fell asleep.

Elsewhere in the Regent Prince Mansion, there was quite a commotion. Consort Jiang, Consort Song, and others felt uncomfortable when they heard from the maids that the Prince had gone to the Princess Consort’s Purple Bamboo Pavilion.

Although they had entered the Prince Mansion earlier than the Princess Consort, the main issue was that they still hadn’t won the Prince’s favor. Why didn’t the Prince show favor to them? Were they not beautiful enough or not charming enough?

Among the women, Consort Jiang was the most frustrated. She had been carried into the mansion by the Prince himself, and was given the household management rights upon arrival.

She had thought she was different from the other women, that the Prince had a fondness for her, hence he had her brought in.

Once inside, she found out the Prince hadn’t favored any other woman, not even the four concubines around him.

Consort Jiang was thrilled; she was determined to be the Prince’s first woman. After all, a man always has some affection for his first woman.

So if she became the Prince’s first woman, even if he later married a Princess Consort into the mansion, or even if more women were brought into the Prince Mansion, she would still hold a unique place in the Prince’s heart.

But Consort Jiang hadn’t expected that her beautiful dreams wouldn’t come true, as the Prince hadn’t touched her at all.

This left Consort Jiang extremely disappointed, but seeing that the Prince wasn’t favoring anyone, it balanced her out.

Later, when the Empress Dowager arranged the marriage, she speculated, was the Prince avoiding contact with them because he wanted to wait for the new Princess Consort to enter the mansion, bear an heir first, and then engage with them?
