The Empress Wants a Divorce Every Day

Chapter 88: Chapter 87: Embarrassed and Annoyed

Rong Ling’s deep, magnetic voice resonated softly, leaving Feng Qing momentarily stunned. She gazed in confusion at the figure standing before her, slowly lifting her head to meet Rong Ling’s pitch-black eyes, as cold and clear as midnight stars, yet captivatingly alluring.

Feng Qing instinctively blinked, quickly regaining her senses, staring wordlessly at the man standing before her, trying to take advantage of her muddled state to ask her identity.

”Prince, why have you come to stand before me?”

Rong Ling looked down at her from above, with a revolting spider on his face. Yet, when with her, he easily overlooked the spider on her face. Aside from the spider, this woman wasn’t bad-looking.

Especially her eyes, brimming with spirit, akin to wild deer in the mountains, sometimes wild, sometimes capricious, sometimes gentle and obedient.

A pair of such spirited eyes can surpass any beautiful visage.

As Rong Ling was pondering this, Feng Qing swiftly rose from her chair, attempting to push him aside.

But because she moved too hastily, instead of pushing Rong Ling away, her leg cramped, causing her to stumble directly into Rong Ling.

Rong Ling instinctively stretched out a hand to wrap around her waist, and the two found themselves closely entwined.

Feng Qing was completely dumbfounded. Oh dear, what a stroke of bad luck this was.

Above her, the man spoke lazily and playfully, ”Is this yet another attempt to seduce the Prince?”

Hearing this, Feng Qing felt like she’d been struck by lightning, instinctively struggling to push Rong Ling away, and dashed to the adjoining bedroom.

She was utterly annoyed, but Rong Ling didn’t know that, and thought she’d become embarrassed, having her thoughts revealed.

Rong Ling spoke in a cheerful mood from behind, ”Today’s lesson ends here; let’s continue tomorrow.”

With that, he turned and strode out of the Purple Bamboo Pavilion, leaving Feng Qing to realize afterward, why did I run? Now he’ll think I’m shy, oh dear, even plunging into the Yellow River couldn’t cleanse me of this.

When did she ever mean to seduce him?

Feng Qing’s face flushed with anger, outside, Si Qi and Si Hua came in one after the other, and upon entering, immediately noticed their Princess Consort’s flushed cheeks.

Si Qi and Si Hua promptly began to imagine a grand drama.

Earlier, they noticed the Prince’s face also wore a joyful expression; now the Princess Consort looked all bashful. Even if they hadn’t spent a night together, there must be something different unfolding, which would explain the Princess Consort’s red cheeks.

Seems like the Prince and Princess Consort will soon be together.

Feng Qing, unaware of the thoughts of her two maids, if she knew, would only want to chuckle at them.

Inside the Purple Bamboo Pavilion, Feng Qing washed up and went to sleep, not wanting to deal with anything else.

The women in the side courtyard of the Regent Prince Mansion finally waited for news of the Prince.

The Prince had left the Purple Bamboo Pavilion and returned to the front courtyard. But he’d stayed in the Purple Bamboo Pavilion for so long, surely he couldn’t have done nothing. Thus, it was said the Prince really did favor the Princess Consort.

Boo hoo, how could the Prince bring himself to kiss someone like that? And why not them?

Is it truly that the Prince’s tastes are different and he likes having things drawn on faces?

The next day, in the Regent Prince Mansion, several women all had things painted on their faces.

Of course, no one dared to draw spiders, as that would be too ugly. Consort Jiang, Consort Song, and others painted flowers and blossoms on their faces.

Inside the Purple Bamboo Pavilion, Si Hua was telling this as a joke to Feng Qing.

”Princess Consort, you should’ve seen it, it was really hilarious. Consort Jiang and Consort Song painted half their faces with flowers, one painted peonies, the other lotuses.”
