The Empress Wants a Divorce Every Day

Chapter 52: Chapter 52: Such a Weakling

The Empress Dowager immediately understood his implication, chuckling softly; she is very interested in targeting the Empress’s family.

The Empress Dowager promptly spoke: ”Convey my decree, now concerning the Gu Family’s legitimate daughter Gu Zhenzhu?”

After speaking, the Empress Dowager glanced towards the direction of the Gu Family: ”What is the name of the Gu Family’s daughter?”

The legitimate daughter of the Gu Family, Gu Zhenzhu, quickly stood up and declared loudly: ”In response to the Empress Dowager, I am Gu Zhenzhu.”

As soon as Gu Zhenzhu spoke, everyone felt their ears were poisoned; obviously a woman of lower rank, yet her voice was as thick and resonant as a man’s.

Marquis Jing’an wished he could faint upon seeing her, he turned his head towards the upper seats of the grand hall, miserably crying: ”Empress Dowager, I have no intention of marrying, please grant me this favor.”

The Empress Dowager gave him a glance and said: ”Marquis Jing’an is a significant minister of our Dayan, how can he be without a wife? The Marquis Mansion has a Madam above and young children below, it truly needs someone to manage; I shall go ahead and make this decision for you.”

The Empress Dowager’s eyes coldly fixated on Feng Lei Ting at the lower seats; Feng Lei Ting felt weak, nearly unable to stand, knowing well that the Empress Dowager’s decision is final and cannot be changed.

The Empress Dowager no longer paid attention to Feng Lei Ting, issuing the decree: ”Now concerning the Gu Family’s legitimate daughter Gu Zhenzhu, dignified and virtuous, shall be betrothed to Marquis Jing’an Feng Lei Ting as Madam; the marriage shall be completed in one month, draw up the decree.”

Seeing the Empress Dowager issue the decree, Marquis Jing’an’s face turned ghastly white, and he could only accept the order: ”I accept the decree with gratitude.”

Gu Zhenzhu also stepped forward to accept the decree: ”I thank the Empress Dowager for the great kindness.”

After speaking, she glanced over at Marquis Jing’an Feng Lei Ting, curling her lips slightly; ha, does he dislike her? A weakling, she actually doesn’t like him either, old and frail; if it weren’t for her age, fearing her father’s and mother’s worries, she wouldn’t want to marry.

After expressing her gratitude, Gu Zhenzhu returned to her seat.

Marquis Jing’an Feng Lei Ting also weakly returned to his place.

At the upper seat of the grand hall, Empress Feng Yao looked on numbly at all this; her mother demoted to a lowly concubine, the Gu Family’s legitimate daughter Gu Zhenzhu marrying her own father, is this the Regent King’s way of punishing her for not marrying him, and thus taking revenge?

Feng Yao used all her strength to suppress her anger, sitting red-eyed in her seat; today, as this Empress, she truly lost all face, and in the future, surely none of the noble women will regard her highly.

By her side, the Little Emperor Rong Che knew he had wronged Feng Yao today, so he reached out quietly to hold Feng Yao’s hand.

Thinking of how her mother ended up in this predicament because she trusted the Emperor, Feng Yao felt resentful, so she forcibly withdrew her hand. Rong Che endured it, feeling angry too, casting a cold glance at Feng Yao before addressing the courtiers and noble women below in the grand hall.

”Alright, the case of the wedding sedan misplacement has been clarified, I hope there will be no more baseless gossip in the future, let the banquet begin.”

The feast started, there were palace dancing girls performing in the middle of the hall, everyone was eating and enjoying the song and dance, seeming harmonious; yet tonight, the people of the Marquis Jing’an Mansion and the Empress were destined for unrest.

Feng Qing no longer paid attention to the Feng Family and the Empress, but occasionally watched Rong Ling by his side.

Thinking of his earlier tactics against the Lin and Feng families, they were truly ruthless; she truly witnessed his means, not only causing pain but also making one wish for death.
