The Empress Wants a Divorce Every Day

Chapter 60: Chapter 60: Provocation

Rong Ling lazily leaned against the soft couch, not speaking. He did not want to deal with court affairs now; just thinking of the possibility that his young nephew had instructed someone to kill him made him feel like his efforts were wasted on dogs. Under these circumstances, should he continue to handle state affairs for him?

Rong Ling pondered this, then thought of Feng Qing. This woman seemed somewhat strange earlier; what is she planning again?

Thinking this, Rong Ling ordered to Nan Feng outside: ”Send someone in to see what that woman is doing, but don’t let her find out.”

Nan Feng immediately knew who the Prince was referring to and turned to send someone to shadow Feng Qing, while Rong Ling did not leave but instead instructed that the carriage be parked aside.

Feng Qing was unaware of this. She took Si Qi and went straight into Qianjiao Building. The building is divided into two levels. Downstairs are common gold and silver jewelry and accessories, while upstairs are Qianjiao Building’s treasured items. Without a certain status, one cannot go to the second floor, and the cheapest items upstairs are worth a thousand taels, not something ordinary people can afford.

Feng Qing had no intention of buying, so she wandered on the first floor of Qianjiao Building, absentmindedly looking around to see if there were any side or back doors, making it easier for her to leave.

However, Feng Qing forgot her striking appearance and current identity.

She hadn’t been inside Qianjiao Building for long before she attracted many glances from the people downstairs, followed by a buzz of conversation.

”Isn’t this the eldest daughter of the Feng Family?”

”It really is her; heavens, the spider on her face is terrifying.”

”I heard she hasn’t been abandoned by the Prince Regent yet. What does the Prince Regent mean? Will he truly recognize this Princess Consort?”

”I don’t think it’s possible. Someone like the Prince, a dragon among men, would want such a wife?”

There were all sorts of remarks, and soon everyone upstairs and downstairs in Qianjiao Building knew that Feng Qing, the eldest daughter of the Feng Family and Regent Queen, had come to the building.

Initially, Feng Qing didn’t notice, as her attention was focused on finding a side or back door. But when she finally did, she was already the center of attention, not only from the people in the first floor hall but also from those upstairs who came down.

Facing this situation, Feng Qing’s expression turned extremely ugly. Just by visiting a shop, she could cause such a commotion. How lucky is she?

Si Qi, at Feng Qing’s side, quietly muttered: ”Princess Consort, why don’t we visit another shop?”

Feng Qing raised an eyebrow. Even if they went to another shop, the situation would likely be the same. So now she was effectively a celebrity in the Dayan Imperial City, albeit infamous.

As Feng Qing contemplated, an insolent laugh sounded behind her, followed by a challenging voice.

”Oh, isn’t this the eldest daughter of the Feng Family? Is the eldest daughter here to buy jewelry? A dignified Regent Queen shouldn’t be looking at jewelry on the first floor of Qianjiao Building; if anything, she should be in the VIP room upstairs.”

Feng Qing heard the voice and instinctively turned to look behind her. A group of ladies approached, with the foremost three likely being the leaders, two of whom Feng Qing recognized from a palace banquet as Si Qi had mentioned before.

The woman in purple was a Miss from the An Nan Marquis Mansion, named Han Ziyan. Although Han Ziyan is the daughter of the concubine of the Marquis An Nan Mansion, it is heard she once saved the Empress Dowager at the Hunting Ground, thus was bestowed the title of Princess Guangling by the Empress Dowager, who is said to favor this County Princess.
