The Empress Wants a Divorce Every Day

Chapter 79: Chapter 79: Fainting from Rage

Han Ziyan’s face turned pale, tears welled up in her eyes. She hailed from the An Nan Marquis Mansion, was bestowed the title of Princess Guangling by the Empress Dowager herself, and was the foremost beauty of Dayan. How could the Prince bear to let her enter the mansion as a concubine?

Originally entering the mansion as Ping Fei, she could still compete with the Regent Queen, Feng Qing. That woman wouldn’t dare do anything to her. But if she entered the mansion as a concubine, she would undoubtedly be just a concubine. The more Han Ziyan thought about it, the more upset she became. Tears silently fell, her whole being sorrowful, and her eyes full of grievance as she looked at Rong Ling.

Unfortunately, Rong Ling didn’t even look at her, only raising his head to gaze directly at the Empress Dowager, calmly saying, ”Since she is determined to enter the Regent Prince Mansion, what difference does it make between Ping Fei and concubine? Ping Fei is also a concubine, required to pay respects to the Princess Consort. Moreover, our Dayan Royal Family is not of such lowly standing, there is no such thing as Ping Fei. Since the Empress Dowager wishes to compensate this subject, then grant Princess Guangling into the Regent Prince Mansion as a concubine.”

Rong Ling’s words made Han Ziyan’s face turn pale again, her body uncontrollably shivering.

How could Rong Ling, how could he treat her like this?

Han Ziyan was heartbroken, tears falling. To one side, the Empress Dowager looked at her helplessly. Rong Ling, the Regent King, had already spoken. She had no way to retract the decree, so even though Han Ziyan was upset, she could only issue an edict to grant the marriage.

”Ministers, draft the decree, grant marriage to Princess Guangling, Han Ziyan, as a concubine of the Regent King.”

The Empress Dowager intentionally didn’t mention the date, hoping to delay it a bit, in case something happened later so that Han Ziyan wouldn’t have to enter the Regent Prince Mansion. But Rong Ling, seated below, timely spoke: ”Let her enter the Regent Prince Mansion ten days later.”

Rong Ling’s words left no room for negotiation, and the Empress Dowager could only agree: ”Alright.”

Han Ziyan could no longer bear the shock, her vision went dark, and she fainted. She, Han Ziyan, bestowed the title of Princess Guangling by the Empress Dowager, the foremost beauty of Dayan, never expected that one day she would become a concubine. How could she ever face anyone in the future? Just thinking about it made Han Ziyan feel utterly humiliated, so she could no longer bear the shock.

At the head of the hall, the Empress Dowager, seeing her like this, felt a bit of pity, but soon her expression returned to normal. She had advised Han Ziyan not to marry Rong Ling before, but she was determined to marry him, so this was something she had to endure.

Empress Feng Yao, upon seeing Han Ziyan, who had always been at odds with her, now entering the Regent Prince Mansion as a concubine, could not help but feel delightful inside, as it also solved a big problem for herself.

With Han Ziyan becoming a concubine in the Regent Prince Mansion, no matter how much the Emperor liked her, he couldn’t bring her into the palace.

Seated below the hall, Rong Ling saw Han Ziyan fainting but did not pay much attention, simply cupping his hands to bid farewell to the Empress Dowager: ”This subject takes my leave.”

The Empress Dowager waved her hand, and Gu Pei also took the opportunity to pay respect to the Empress Dowager, both turning to leave the hall.

Rong Ling walked a few steps, realizing Feng Qing had not followed, and said coldly: ”Are you not coming?”

Feng Qing was enjoying the show, and upon hearing Rong Ling’s words, she had to pay respect to the Empress Dowager and followed Rong Ling out of Cining Palace.

As for Han Ziyan, who was about to enter the mansion as a concubine, Feng Qing was indifferent. It’s just a concubine. Whom the Prince chooses to take as a concubine is none of her business. Besides, she won’t stay in the Regent Prince Mansion forever.

In the grand palace, everyone’s attention was on Han Ziyan.

Only one person quietly looked towards Feng Qing. Gu Pei originally thought Feng Qing would be angry, frustrated, and saddened, seeing her own husband take someone else into the Regent Prince Mansion. Wouldn’t any woman feel upset?
